October (Lasohm) Fourth Wall Log

❥ Speaking of Wall Breaking...

The ghosts in town sure are weird, huh? But they're settling down, as the month draws to a close. They're becoming less anxious and random, their behaviour growing sort of… focused. As time passes some of them begin to develop features. They can interact with the world more consistently. You can… hear their voice.

And then suddenly they are people, real and physical and just as confused to be here as you are. They could be anyone, from your world, someone else's world, a place you've never heard of… some of them could even be you, from a different universe, a different timeline, an unknown reality. What does all this mean?

IT'S FOURTH WALL, Y'ALL. Tell your friends, people interested in apping or just playing around in the setting, anybody! Time to break the wall down and have some fun.

This post serves as a replacement for the usual Test Drive Meme, in order to consolidate the chaos a bit. Though it is being posted now, timeline-wise, this shift will occur ONLY during the weekend prior to applications opening: October 30th to November 2nd, after which point characters will either disappear or become permanent residents via the application process. This also means that the rest of the event effects will have worn off, and characters will be their normal selves through the duration of this prompt.

Some ground rules for the 4th Wall event:

For characters/accounts not in-game:

• a character does not have to meet application qualifications to post to the 4th Wall Event, except in cases where there is an intent to apply when applications open. Duplicates, CRAU, AU, etc. are permitted for the event.
  
• we do ask that crack shenanigans are reasonably limited, game rules are followed, and that the event involve characters only, not players or real people.
  
• anyone can toplevel! It'll be a free for all. Go wild, have fun.
  
• characters will be given a temporary, low-tech communicator for the duration of the event with limited network access, due to limited availability of the real deal.
  
• you will not arrive with any items/companions beyond the clothes that you wear
  
• check out the Setting or FAQ pages for location details! Also, have a look at the October event log, to see what else is going on these days.

For characters/accounts currently in-game:

• players can decide for themselves at the event's conclusion whether or not memories of certain visitors remain, and to what extent; memories could become fuzzy, faces or communication obscured, they could disappear entirely, or they can remain fully intact whether the person apps into the game or not.
  
• network communications with 4th Wall visitors that don't (or can't) app in will be wiped, with the locals citing a data error related to the older communicators being used. Technology can be unpredictable, huh!
  
• any communication exchanges that you WANT to keep can remain with some discretion; for example, if a spouse visits and you happen to take a selfie with them, and they do not (or cannot) app but having that photo of them would give you comfort, feel free to keep it.
  
• Similar to the TDM, 4th wall threads cannot be used for AC or AC Reward purposes unless it is between characters already in-game.

Are 4th wall characters able to use any of the intro prompt ideas (eg. being rained on, being sticky and ending up being blued to people they touch for an hour or so, etc)? Or should they wait until they app and get accepted, if they decide to do so?

[The ghostly wails were everywhere in the city, most of them practically indistinguishable from each other. But somewhere in the cacophony, one voice could be singled out, if you concentrated hard enough. This one's cries were...somehow melodic, in nature...and to a few who lived in Havenwell, possibly even familiar.

Then came the materializing of faint details. The vaguest outlines of green and cream. The point of a feathered cap. The fluttering of a short cape around the shoulders. A familiar silhouette, one who has been here before...

Kiwi blinked as they suddenly returned to awareness, their graceful feet stumbling to catch themselves in an involuntary dance. The last thing they remembered, they were on Miriam's broom, flying through the beautiful new night sky. She was taking them home. But looking around, there was once again no sign of their best friend, which made a little bubble of panic rise up in the bard's chest before suddenly they realized...they recognize these surroundings! They've been to this city before. They lived here once, if only for six months, give or take. They would have brunch at that cafe just over there every day! And yet everything looked so different, too...how long had it been by now, since they were thrown back to the foot of Mt. Ichor?

And more importantly, had anyone else been sent back when they were???

As soon as they could find their voice, they fumbled with the cheap communicator the residents gave them, finding the voice broadcast function.]

[Will wouldn't say he's unused to ghosts. He saw Agatha and her team nearly every day back home, after all! Morty isn't a bad guy at all, either. Still, as charming and entertaining as ghosts and their antics can be, not all ghosts are so benign with their pranks. Some Ghost types, well..... He's not entirely confident he has the sort of training he'd need to handle some of them safely.

That's why he tries to keep his distance, for the most part, is cautious and respectful towards these strange, unearthly visitors before they begin to take shape into real people. When he sees a painfully familiar splash of bright green, though, hears a beautiful voice he'll never forget.....

There's no way he can stop himself, even if it had been just an illusion. Will may be a little hard to recognize, with his hair grown out so absurdly long--how had it managed to grow multiple feet in the brief time Kiwi had been gone?--, but he's rushing over to all but fling himself into the bard's arms regardless. Try not to drop that communicator!]

Goro Akechi | Persona 5: Royal | Spoilers warning?

[Sometime after the initial arrival, Akechi was left more confused than ever. This isn't right. He shouldn't be here. He shouldn't be anywhere. They took care of Maruki and his Actualization, so why? At the very least, he was in his winter clothing when he arrived. It wasn't like the Metanav existed anymore, or at least it shouldn't have. Now it's got him questioning if they actually finished it.

He'd tried to tell the robot that he was not interested in helping them out. He just wanted to fade away without someone else manipulating his existence again. And they had to restore the world with physical affection? They were really barking up the wrong tree for that.

Once he was left on his own to find a place, he chose to do something instead. Figuring out how to work this new smartphone wasn't as clear as he'd liked, but it was easy enough.]

Are they serious? All of this is a joke, right? I'd rather just leave if anybody can assist me with that.

With that, he quickly wrote something on the smartphone.]

Ah. Yet another shift in realities. Sadly, it was typical enough that Lotor barely gave it a second thought.

Rather than waste time and energy in an attempt to find someone willing to speak with him, he used the communicator he'd found on arrival.

"I am known as Lotor, and I mean no harm. If anyone might be able to explain the basics of this world and its inhabitants, I would be quite grateful."

He could easily have said more and asked even more than that, but being succinct seemed best until he had more awareness of his environment.

Even with the events of the last few weeks putting her on edge, what Honerva does not expect is to tune into the communicators to see this particular broadcast message to the public, and it is... hauntingly familiar.

She... should have been prepared that a day like this might come, and yet there truly was no bracing for that. She's stunned, but has no reply, studying his face and listening to the voice, just as she had remembered and --

... well her hand slips, opening a communication line between them, which is not at all that was intended. Startled, she tries to close it off almost immediately, hopefully before he's noticed, but would either of them be so lucky?

[Even after considering everything she's been through right down to the very end, waking up in a strange place all of a sudden is not high on her list of things she'd have expected. In fact it's not on the list at all. The last she remembers is everything fading into darkness and now this is just --

Absurd.

Maybe this is some sort of dream. Maybe she was reborn and this is a new life, but as far as she can tell everything about her remains the same.

Just what is going on?

The only thing she can really do is check out things for herself and try and make some sense out of everything. Though it would probably help if she listened to anything people were trying to tell her. She mostly doesn't believe it simply because one moment she was at the Galaxy Cauldron and then the next she's in a city with apparent gods (??).

In any case, she can be found wandering through various places in her regular civilian form which probably doesn't make her stand out any less -- red eyes, hair that goes from gold to red and all the way down to her feet. But at least it's not shiny gold armor.

Anyone who runs into her will find that she looks mostly confused and frustrated. Those who purposely or even accidentally will get something along the lines of a glare and --]

[ All Sephiroth wants after everything that has happened recently is to be alone, which is why he is at the outskirts of the city proper and heading toward one of his favorite haunts: The Arena. As much as these so-called gods try to disguise it with new growth--Sephiroth has a bone to pick with Rawna in particular at the moment, but that will be for another time--the line of demarcation separating the old city from the newly reclaimed area is still obvious. It is as Sephiroth steps over this that he first notices the woman walking toward him. He doesn't recognize her, but then that does not mean much given how little he cares about most other people.

Sephiroth would have passed her by without comment save for the glare and those terse words, the combination of which is almost a challenge issued. ]

[On one hand, she was more than a little tired of worldhopping and being conscripted into crazy shit by higher powers.]

[...On the other, a world in danger was still something she couldn't really ignore. And all things considered, this was a nice enough city. Kind of felt like a smaller scale Crystarium, a lively last bastion of a realm on the brink of ruin. This time there weren't even any signs of horrible monsters, so that was already looking up.]

[Which was all how a young woman came to be wandering around Havenwell--maybe sitting on the roof of a building fiddling with her communicator, exploring the shopping district, or wandering out a little further to the ruins closer to the walls.]

[...It didn't seem all that bad, really, but there was a long list of people who were absolutely going to kill her once she got back.]

[ Okay, so, wow. This has to be a dream. A dream stuck in a dream? That's going to be funny only to him.

But the humour will have to wait, considering all else going on once reality -- this reality, how temporary it is or not -- dawns on Tidus. Gawking at the metallic bodies strolling along, going about their business, their lives?, and there's a few people around. But for once, he doesn't want to rush into anything--or rather, he's kinda expecting danger to come rushing to him, or something. If this has anything to do with where he just came from, he wants to find answers, and quick.

Which would mean doing some reconnaissance, for someone else who know that word. For Tidus, that means... wandering. And poking his nose around. Checking out buildings, and shops. Sightseeing with all the apparent air of a new arrival, though he's got his hands shoved in the pocket of his purple hoodie, acting very very very inconspicuous, innocuous, all those innocent i-starting words. Squinting at the displays of the water fountain to very visibly judge the 'designs' of...whatever those are meant to be??

But let him nosy into your business, the other businesses, into the entertainment distract. Remember that getting distracted isn't what he's here for. ]

[ He smiles wide, keeps it deliberately cheery. For how he's dressed, it's either unusual for the fashions of the city, or incredibly plain: a purple-coloured hoodie with a green train emblem on the left arm, and cargo pants rolled up to under the knees. ]

[ Inigo? Worried? Hah, surely you jest, clearly nothing about this situation is worrying to Inigo.

Granted, he should probably be used to this. Suddenly ending up in a different place, full of things he doesn't understand? It wouldn't be the first time. Or technically the second time, but at least when he went to the Ylisse from the past he actually understood most things there. Why do all other places have to be so weirdly technological, huh? What's up with these weird people here! They're freaky! Inigo doesn't like it!

And that's not the only thing playing on his nerves. The main thing - of course - is that he's found himself here alone. Well, not fully alone, since he can see regular flesh-and-blood people around, thank Naga. But he doesn't spot anyone he recognizes.

And nothing could be worse to Inigo than that. Not even the news that physical contact is very much encouraged here could drag him out of that worry. Who cares about hugging when he's lost every single person he wanted to hug in the first place, and for the second time, at that?

His feet are moving, slowly bringing him through the city, but he's hardly paying attention to his surroundings. Maybe in a while he'll be able to scrape himself back together enough to put on his positive front. Just start over somehow. Meet new people. Go back to pretending. Act like he doesn't feel like there's thorns stuck in his heart for every single important person he's lost. But not right now. Right now he feels more dead than alive as he wanders the streets, not even thinking about the possiblity that maybe, just maybe, it isn't him just here after all.

But then he happens to look up. Things only slowly register, with how occupied Inigo's mind is with spiralling down into worry and misery. But it's like splotches of colour-- Purple. Yellow.

Inigo's heart skips a beat, slowly returning to life as something feels very familiar about that combination. His head turns, a rough jerk, and for a moment Inigo stares at the back he spots in the distance.

Technically it could easily be someone else. Heck, even if it is Tidus, it could be some Tidus that just is happening to wear a purple hoodie and doesn't recognize him - that sure is a lesson Inigo learned to adapt to really quick after having gone back to his own past before.

But does he really have to think of those things right now? There's no way he can't.

Pre-emptive excitement, relief, joy-- the whole package makes his feet move before his brain can consider any of the more rational protests to this whole idea.

(Like even just something as simple as 'Tidus sure didn't like it the last time you did this'--)

Inigo sprints right over at the familiar back, leaps up, and hops straight onto said back, clinging like a koala. (You don't have to thank him for these free bucks, pal, no worries.)

[ Wherever Noctis maybe, Ignis is always by his side. This is no exception. Such as their fates really.

This first thing that Ignis takes note of is the air changing around him. There's a smell of some sort of bakery? That and he can hear a couple of cats around.

He stiffens a bit as he realizes that his walking cane is gone. He quickly reaches up to touch his glasses that are hiding his eyes and he breathes a small relief.

What in the world had happened? He can recall the crystal taking Noct and then escaping the place...

Speaking of the prince, Ignis is unaware that there's a prince nearby somewhere... ]

[2. Entertainment District: Closed to Prompto]

[ After he's done talking to Noctis, he's slowly trying to make his around this strange world. He's walking along the streets somewhere, using his hand as a guide along the buildings. He's letting his foot bonk into things to make sure that he doesn't trip over anything.

His ears pick up on a familiar sound. A camera going off? ]

Prompto? Is that you? [ He calls out, hoping for another familiar voice! ]

[3. Around the shopping district: OTA]

[ Ignis is following the distinct smell of coffee. However, as he's walking, he's bumping into someone by accident. ]

Apologies. [ He doesn't even look at the person who he said it to. He simply can't. ] I'm afraid I'm a bit blind.

[4. Shopping District: OTA]

[ After he's gotten his coffee, he'll be found sitting on a bench somewhere. He's sipping his coffee now and it's no Ebony, but it'll do as he ponders on this strange new world.

He can't see a thing and while it's frustrating at times, such as this, he wouldn't go back and change a thing.

If new people are popping in front of him, they may notice a lack of reaction from the man on the bench. He's just not seeing them pop out of nowhere.]

[ He chuckles, an apologetic sound, offering the same joke back. Or so Tidus thinks he's doing and, well, look: he wasn't paying attention either when he walked right into the guy. It happens!

But then he turns on his heel to face him, takes another startled step back once he realises: ]

Wait-- you're really blind?

[ Things just come out of his mouth sometimes. ]

[Arrival]

[These past few days, people might have noticed a rather large ghost filtering in and out of existence, sometimes just walking, sometimes enjoying a drink, sometimes crouching down. Whoever this ghost is, he's tall, and doesn't seem at all aware of what's going on.

But one day, he materializes, and he chokes on the tea he'd been sipping that's no longer in his hand. As he bends over to cough, he lifts his head to look around, soon wiping at the back of his mouth as he recovers enough to say in a hoarse voice:]

What?

[Automatically, he reaches for one of his Pokemon at his belt... only to find none of them are there. He straightens up suddenly to his full height, taking one step back, then another as he looks down at his belt, finding it very empty of his Pokeballs.]

What?

[He takes out his phone and unlocks it to try to get a read on his location - only to find that it doesn't. Helplessly, Raihan turns the phone around to take a selfie, showing off his frankly anxious expression.]

What?


[Arrival pt II]

[Eventually, he calms down, and actually knows what's going on. Sort of, at least. He's certainly not happy about it, as he's very attached to his world, his Pokemon, his fans, but he takes it in stride as best as he can.

Without Rotom, his phone won't last as long as it usually does, so he resists the urge to open it up as much as he can. But he can't resist the siren's call of pictures, so he can be seen holding up his phone to take pics of buildings, of the fountain in the plaza, of the robots that walk along. Most of them have him turning the phone around to take a selfie with said object, an easy smile and pose coming up that falls away as soon as the selfie is done.]

No one's gonna believe any of this. [He says in a slightly posh Scottish accent as he scrolls through his gallery. Maybe the pictures will stay when he's returned home.]


[The Zoo]

[Now, this is fascinating. For a man whose world is filled with Pokemon, seeing animals that look much like them yet aren't is incredibly interesting. He wanders between the exhibits, reading all that he can, taking even more pictures and selfies, but looking marginally happier when he's done.

And if someone approaches, he gives them a friendly smile while gesturing to the animal that's currently pacing around its exhibit.]

This is a long shot, but the great Raihan is desperate.

Anyone got any phone chargers? Not for these things, but for regular phones? Mine's got maybe 2% battery left and I don't live THAT dangerously.

[Dot, sitting on a nearby bench, has been watching as Raihan moves about, holding up that little rectangular box and smiling. It’s unusual behavior to her, to say the least. After two or three selfies, she finds herself unable to keep her curiosity tamped down and finally speaks up:]

What exactly are you doing with that device? [Her own accent is distinctively British.]

[Hello stranger! A petite robot girl has approached, bouncing gently on her heels, a hand lifted in greeting. Her expression is composed, but there's a glimmer of concern if one watches closely.]

Please excuse Poppi's interruption! Poppi cannot find Masterpon anywhere. Information would be greatly appreciated. If reward needed, can trade for assistance? [If nothing else she's determined, gripping her little alloyed hands into fists.] Poppi has many useful skills!

[Barring the above, she'll find herself a good perch to watch for familiar faces, though what counts as "good" is relative- she'll probably get a crowd of concerned onlookers by parking herself at the top of the central deity fountain. Little girls don't belong up there! It's fine, though… she has rocket boots.]

01 - Off to the Library.
[ When he says this isn't his first rodeo being whisked away without remembering a thing or understanding what's happening, by god does he mean it. And so after all is said and done, Roland is unflappable when he asks for directions, confident in himself to know that there's some sort of answer to be discovered here, even if he's harboring doubts. Had the train left him behind on some platform and he failed to come onboard? Is this what was behind the revolving barrier at the end of the mist?

Regardless, he is clearheaded when he is faced with the best resource when dealing with an unknown, yet awfully familiar world: The library. Roland is already reading up on the encyclopedias, brows slightly furrowed and a finger to his chin. From time to time, he will mutter to himself, but will more or less be incredibly approachable. The tablet-like books were one thing, but native information is priceless. ]

Sustained, positive physical contact to earn currency? I really have seen everything, now.


02 - Courthouse Blues
[ Later in the day, Roland finds himself wandering by one of the four gods's temples, mentioned in almost every book he's consumed thus far: Diacht's. If he had been sorted as most of the citizens of this city had when they awoke, perhaps he might have appealed first to study under him. But as he looks upon the facade with arms crossed over his chest, he doesn't take that information for face value. Read the basics about the process in which the legal system, if at all needed, works.

Well, it was either this, or asking Lady Luck to tell you how to tax your people. Neither seemed fair. ]

Hm. A verdict made by man, with the guidance of the gods, huh? Hope your judge's having a good day, then.


03 - Entertainment for the Old/Young Man
[ His final stop in the city of Havenwell is the entertainment district. Very few people know it of him, and won't usually associate the stern and serious Chief Consul with the hobby, but Roland's always been fond of watching movies. Even small theatre plays would do, taking him back to a time when life was much simpler and he was but a boy enthralled with the idea of make-believe and stories. Now, his life takes a turn for exactly that, a movie in the making.

He's stood by one of the cinema-houses, the device in his hand blinking in and out as he tries to determine how much Dora is needed to watch the sequel to the Invasion of the Spark Plug Snatchers. ]

Or maybe the sci-fi soap opera might do, for today? [ He glances up from time to time, looking at the line up of movie posters, throwing him into another fond reminisce. ] Action sounds good too. Ah, but no detective murder-mystery, I see. That's a shame.

[ At some point, somehow, Tidus will manage to peel Inigo off from him. Possibly with a lot of bickering involved, and at the cost of having to walk around with the guy......with the guy....

...clinging to his arm. An arm. A one-too-many arm! And he doesn't know why Inigo feels the need to be clinging onto him like he's afraid of the ground swallowing him up (and therefore planning to drag Tidus to his doom with him!), but ugh, he got sick of arguing and this is just how life is now: the pair of them figuring out if this has anything to do with the voidstorm - and so there still existing the possibility Inigo is a dream leech - or if they somehow got dumped on a random planet.

And if they aren't the only ones. If they're here, then someone else has to be too, right?

That's the only reason they even go inside the library when they see it. Why else would they? There's nothing but books in there, books won't help the. But they both know enough nerds to decide to take a look inside-- like, two. Or three? But those are also nerds that they like, so.

Sometimes, in moments where she was in a great rush, Hemera would find herself arriving in a place she hadn't meant to teleport to. Most often this would be a place in dire need of her particular brand of assistance, so she hardly minded it.

But never did she arrive anywhere feeling so... off.

Or lacking in the items she had been carrying.

"...Oh, bugger."

WANDERING

Reassured that time has slowed to a standstill back home whilst she's here, Hemera occupies herself with exploring what she can of this sad and fascinating world. She sheds her Traveler's gear in favour of a simple robe, and removes her mask once she realizes they are not the norm in this city. No longer venturing anon, some may note how similar she looks to a certain auri woman—particularly when she smiles. And she certainly smiles a lot as she wanders, delighted by all the budding souls around her. There are so few children in Amaurot that she cannot help but feel elated by how many there are in Havenwell.

She does her best to mind her own, not wishing to intrude, but it's so difficult to keep herself from doting upon them.

"Hello!" Her smile is bright as the sun and her eyes just as radiant. "What is your name, little one?"

Ardbert thought Seto might enjoy meeting new people, so he's brought him along to greet the newcomers. He was amazed to see such a tall woman, but what really got his attention was how Seto had stopped and stared at her. Like he recognized her. Or, at the very least, her soul.

She walks up to them before he can consider that further and says hello. He has to crane his neck up to look at her properly, mouth slightly agape. "A-Ardbert. And this is Seto."

[When one lives long enough, new places - genuinely new places - are both unexpected and something of a surprise. True, nothing he can see is beyond his understanding, for all that he lacks any distinct context for where this happens be. But it's very clearly not where he should have been, and that alone would be enough to be slightly concerning. The nagging sense that something isn't quite right only deepens that sense of concern.]

Well. This is... different.

[The comment is remarkably casual, despite his concerns and misgivings, and though it's not - really - directed at anyone, if he hadn't wanted it to be heard neither would he have said it.]

[Of course, there's no sense in simply staying in one place either. Wherever this is, and however he may have gotten here, it doesn't seem like he's going to be leaving in any particular hurry. At which point it behooves him to at least be loosely familiar with his surrounding.

He is, admittedly, not particularly sociable as he makes his way through this strange city, but he offers polite nods to people who happen to look his way at least.

Eventually, he manages to find the libraries, and at that point he spends a not inconsiderable amount of time simply seeing what he can find tucked away on those shelves.]

Hemera feels a flood of relief the moment she senses Hades' arrival. For all that she was Azem, the Traveler, and shepherd to the peoples not protected within Amaurot's borders, sometimes she, too, needed a shepherd of her own. Someone to guide her home.

In those moments she was lost he would always help her find her way, and right now she feels so very lost.

But she is also keenly aware that he won't be pleased with her current misadventure, and so preempts his anger via their Linkpearls.

[There was another poet who had written about a heat beating so loudly it forced its murderer to confess his sins. It wasn't one of Blake's works, which is probably why V can't draw the name to mind. The other reason could very well be that, as careful as he's been so far to avoid confrontations he knows his body can't handle, this one isn't going to leave him unscathed.

It takes V a moment to open his eyes and then he has to close them again against the bright light of day. How long have they been in the demon tree that the sun's brightness stings his eyes?

[By all rights, the bird demon should be squawking his ear off...and he's not. That doesn't bode well.

Relief he won't admit to feeling rushes through V when he confirms that all of the contracts with his familiars are still there. The markings' bold strokes still litter his skin, and yet not even faithful Shadow answers his call.

V finally takes a moment to look at the world around him, fingers closing around the cane that has remained at his side when nothing else has.]

Ainea's Temple
[ Ainea, the locals tell him, is their mouse-like goddess of compassion and empathy, and as he looks upon her statue with nothing short of amusement.  A temple decorated with flowers and built from wood, bannisters draped in lavish purples and rich pinks... what a shame it would be if someone set fire to it.

 It's laughable that he's been assigned to such a deity, rather, it would be laughable, if he hasn't been quietly fuming at being summoned here the entire time the golem guides him around. However, he supposes that things could be worse. He could be but a broken sword at the horizon of boundless sky and endless sea, slain and forgotten as the world turned without him.  Now that he's been made flesh once more, his goal has not changed: find the Hero reincarnated, find the Goddess incarnate, and slaughter them both.

 Yet with neither Hero nor Goddess in sight, what else is he to do?  

He points dramatically at the statue, flaring out his wine-red cloak.  ]  Aa, it is always the gods' faults, isn't it? I blame you for this.

Barrier
[ One of the robots told him not to go to the barrier. He had asked, innocently, why. Why? Because it is dangerous outside, and that barrier is the only thing that's keeping everyone within the city safe and alive, including him!

Well, that's quite alright with him. He will return as soon as his Master reforges him! But for all others trapped in this city, poor them. Poor, squishy, them. As soon as that barrier goes down, they will all be doomed. Imagine that, the key to ruining everyone's lives and bringing about the end to this world, right at his fingertips.

...Alright, not at his fingertips since it's a small trek to reach the barrier, but close enough! ] You there. [ Yes, you. Ghiarhim points at you before he even looks at you, and then he whips his head to the side, locking eyes with yours. ]

[Voice unusually deep, but with modest stature, it seemed the man who had been standing nearby overheard Ghirahim's little outburst.

Whoever was in front of the temple was of a race that Verstael didn't recognize. That happened around here sometimes - many humans came, but so too did others. Still, it was always fascinating. He didn't remind him quite of anyone else he'd met here. So then, perhaps it was time for introductions.

With confident steps he joined Ghirahim, side by side, gazing at the statue.]

Research Chief Verstael Besithia of the Imperial Army. [His gaze wandered away from the statue up to Ghirahim - though despite having to look up at him, he still had a way of holding his chin high and proud.] I have not seen another like you here.

[ How long has it been since he's needed air to fill his lungs, inhabited a body to feel the warmth of a sun and  the relief of shade, or a human hand with which to hold a weapon, much less the hand of someone else? This is something to which he must grow accustomed once more, and quickly at that, if he wishes to navigate to this world, much less contribute to its restoration. However, honoring the gods' edict of summoning him here, that of touch giving live to this world, does not come easy to him. Operating a mortal body feels oddly sluggish after all this time, heavy. Perhaps it's a matter of acclimation, of having the patience to acquaint himself with a heart that now beats, slowly and solemnly...

Encounter Somnus within the botanical gardens, the zoo, or wandering about the city and its outskirts on his own. Wherever he travels, the scenery is vastly different from the confines of the Ring. This world is alien to him in both architecture, flora, and time. Somnus lingers in any given spot, looking out at the landscape, the barrier, or the city, before he turns his gaze from indulging any further. There is a path set before him to yet another part of Aellyn, and he must walk it. Moreover, this world must be restored.

There are others here. Little can be accomplished alone. ]

[ Although she had been startled for the one, maybe two seconds upon waking into this realm, she adapts quickly. It is not new to her that another world exists, for if heroes can be summoned through the Gate of Souls to battle, then she too can be called to aide another. It is about time, she muses, that she is the summoned instead of being the one to greet time-displaced folk.

Taken from the midst of battle, Zelda has not a single scratch upon her skin, a tear in her skirt, or a scuff upon her war regalia. In fact, the only hint that she may have been outside at all is the caked mud upon her heavy boots, apparent as she sits poised upon a ledge with her legs crossed at the ankles.

A golden harp rests between her arms, and she begins to expertly pluck at its delicate strings. Should you approach, she'll smile. ] Do you sing?

Gardens
[ What a fantastical garden this is, and what a difference it is from Hyrule's current turmoil. The amount of different species of  plants before her is far more than she can count. Some seem to be familiar, others seem wildly foregin, and all seem lush and healthy.  ]

These crops, these flowers.... [ Her comment is a whisper, spoken in wistful awe at the display of agriculture before her. The people of Alleyn have made such advances in technology to the point of achieving mechanical immortality, and all she can think about is how Hyrule might fend through the winter, after the Demon King's army had wrecked the land. ] What bounty they have.

[Really, Mhaol had wandered over because she was intrigued by someone playing the harp. Even back on the Source, with all her job crystals, she wouldn't call herself a bard in anything but name. So she can't help but admire anyone with proper musical talent.

Sing? I mean, kind of. I'm not sure I'd call it good though. [Just thinking about it makes her laugh a bit.]

He'll consider this a vacation from the norm, not that he won't be able to go without a fight or two if he stays here longer than a week. For now, however, he stands before Ohma's altar, impatient and demanding. ] I pray.... [ He is not a praying man. But he sorely wishes for one thing right now, and that is: ] for shoopuff milk!

[ Nothing happens. Disappointed, he inhales as he crosses his arms of his broad chest. ] Hey, look, I brought you som' bread and... shit. To offer. [ Said bread is what is provided by one of the food-replicators, haphazardly set before the deity's statue in a basket.

Jecht looks to the statue, then down to the basket of bread, to the statue once again. ] Now give me shoofpuff milk. [ He ain't gonna say please, patron god of knowledge and wisdom!

Wait a second, does this mean Jecht is now inherently wise....? ]

Do not be afraid. [ Not that you may have appeared afraid in the first place... or maybe she's projecting. Maybe despite her smile, she's actually quite shaken at appearing in this world. Maybe, should you take her hand, you'll find that her grip trembles softly.

By the Twelve, the lantern-- the Flame is gone from her person. ] We can explore together.

Campfires
[ She's found a temporary residence in one of the townhomes, yes, but she finds just as much comfort preparing a modest firepit somewhere among the (more peaceful) ruins. Making such a thing by hand had been something she'd quickly grown accustomed to all on her own ever since she had started her pilgrimage. That, and she's not likely to forget all the times she's spent outdoors with her companions. It's only been a few days, but she misses them sorely.

Ophilia sits by the fire in silence. It's easy to see that she's lost in thought, but whether distracted or day dreaming, her expression indicates neither sorrow nor joy.

Her attention snaps to you when she hears you approach, and she stands up from her makeshift seat, smoothing out her white robes. ] Oh, hello....

[The ruins are fascinating to Raihan, and while he could never care about this place like he does his home, he's genuinely curious about the history behind it. And maybe set up a fire, too, like camping out in the wild area of his home. Maybe cook up some curry, though he's sure it won't be nearly as good as the real thing.

It looks like someone beat him to it, though. He follows the plume of smoke to the person occupying it, and when he's noticed, he lifts a hand in greeting and gives an amicable smile.]

Jules Dagger Samari | The League

Dressed in black on black with a screaming skull flag attached to the sleeve of his upper arm that likely indicates he's a pirate without any words, Jules stares out at the place with a twisted expression of supreme annoyance. The sunglasses may cover his glowing red eyes, but the claws and fangs are on full display.

"Minsid hell! My luck just can't ever fucking change."

If his glare wasn't enough to send people scattering, what he does the next moment will take care of that. Flinging his head back he roars into the ether.

"Whoever brought me here, you made a huge mistake! Andarions don't do touch, and Stralen males don't let anything pull them away from their family. I'm going to find you and rip you limb from limb for this!"

Screaming death threats at an unknown being who could transport him from his ship to an unknown location in an instant probably a great plan. The only being he knows who can do that is Trajen, and Tray could explode his brains in a mere thought. Yeah, definitely not his best idea, but then again he isn't exactly known for good ideas in the first place. Whatever.

Once Jules finishes yelling his demands to the sky, he may notice a response of sorts. It's a sound. The sound of long, slow clapping. Standing what one might consider a safe distance away is another who seems to have the concept of black-on-black down, though his style couldn't be more opposite Jules. The black clothing could only be called punk goth and the extensive layer of tattoos that cover his pale skin, well they are another thing all on their own. Tribal perhaps? Certainly not one would expect a six-foot-something beanpole to be wearing. Considering the thinness, the cane hanging in the crook of his arm may not be just for show.

"Bravo! There is nothing like shouting your passions to the sky, is there? Do you think you could demand the location of the nearest library next?"

ONE: ARRIVAL/EXPLORING

[She woke in Ainea's temple, got what she was assuming was the usual spiel for arrivals (judging by how prepared the strange robot priest was), a bit of money, and then was handed a strange tomestone and ushered outside to mingle with the population.

The pink haired miqo'te's tail flicked around in mild irritation but being combative first thing in a new world, she knew, wasn't smart. As bothersome as losing almost all of her gear was, she at least still had her glaives. As long as she could still dance and defend herself, she'd manage this new situation.

She wanders, as she is wont to do, dressed in the loose and comfort Ao Dai and loose silken pants, eventually finding herself visiting several places.

As a botanist, Mhaol can't help but be drawn to the botanical gardens, spending what she was given to get a sketchbook to document the plant life. Just in case. And it never hurts to make a paper trail of things like this, especially knowing this world has suffered.

She might also be found at the Baths, happily soaking in the hot springs, face flushed in relaxed bliss, pink curls a bit flatter for the moment. Feel free to join her, there's plenty of space and she doesn't bite.

There's also a bit of shopping to be done as well but that was quick and easy, just a few things to keep herself comfortable while here.

Or she could just be wandering the streets and exploring the city, learning the layout of the city and keeping a lookout for the most noteworthy landmarks.]

TWO: NETWORK

[She's set up her communicator maybe a bit too far from her so it's easy to see her ears and tail, flicking about almost anxiously. She's smiling though and it's a genuine.]

This isn't my first time exploring a new world so I won't bore you all with what you probably hear a lot.

Instead, I heard this place runs on physical contact? So if anyone would like to curl up with a miqo'te, or mystel if you know that one better, just let me know! If the weather gets all weird, I can at least promise I'm warm?

Though most of her time was spent on rooftops and in other ill-advised places to be standing, eventually she could be caught at the window of the local weapons store; her eyes running over a worn-looking hammer in critical concentration.]
