June (Dianir) Event Log

There's a lot going on this month, plenty of work to be done. But as they say, many hands make light the work! And to make up for the grim and grey atmosphere awaiting those who decide to venture outside the barrier, the weather within the city limits is clean and clear, that perfect spot resting between hot and cold. The middle of Dianir brings to Havenwell the start of perfect summer weather. Be sure to give yourself a lovely break when you need to get away from the endless storm outside.

May (Ealom) Event Log

Despite the fact that spacetime has been a bit questionable in recent days, the seasons carry on as they should. Spring has begun to grow warmer, the scent of flourishing local flowers often in the air as they are set out to decorate native shops and homes with a burst of lively color. On a larger scale, the march of time flows as inexorable and steady as ever; the question is if that will remain the case for long.

March (Ainir) Event Log

The weather is growing quite lovely, punctuated by a sweet scent in the air as local flowers begin to grow and bloom, signifying the start of what many argue is the brightest and most comforting of seasons. While not all bend the knee for Ainea, she is beloved and well known as the kindest of the local deities, so even denizens of other chapters appreciate the good will she presents when her season comes to play. Brace yourselves, residents of Havenwell: spring has officially sprung, and the mouse is in your house. (Theologically speaking, anyway.)

January (Lasra) Event Log

Lasra is in full swing, and the city is covered in a blanket of soft, glittering snow. The turning of the year has been celebrated, and silvery decorations still pepper the streets to accent the natural glimmer provided by the gods. Overall, the city seems to be in a very good mood. Hopefully nothing comes along to spoil it.

October (Lasohm) Event Log

Lasohm brings with it a familiar chill and a dash of increased precipitation, as the city prepares itself for the coming winter season. Best practice is to go out with a jacket or sweater to avoid those goosebumps! Or don't and be cold, we won't judge. The wind carried over from last month doesn't help matters any, though at least the rest of the city is quiet and placid for the most part, as if entering an electronic hibernation. That peace is sure to last, right? Not like anything bad ever happens in Lasohm.

September (Ohnir) Event Log

Ohnir has arrived, and with it, the beginning of Ohma's reign. The usual switching of the colours around town began in full force at the start of the month, blue and gold peppering lining the streets and buildings like it does every year. The cats are even a little more energetic than usual, though you might not notice seeing how they are, you know, cats. Get some extra play time in while you can.

Some of the scientists can be heard around town arguing over which botanical designations to give the flowers that grew practically overnight along the green belt of the old wall. They're very passionate about the subject, so residents might find the arguments tiresome or entertaining, depending on your flavour.

August (Achtom) Event LogAchtom is here, the pinnacle of summer, and the city is (tentatively) getting back into the groove of normalcy. Locals are intrigued and curious about the idea of a celebration for them, all things considered, and are more than happy to allow the festivity to help them forget all the unpleasantness of the last few months. Many will be in attendance, and are eager to learn and experience whatever their offworlder neighbours have to offer. Put on a good show, if you feel so inclined! They'll surely love it.

As it is the last month of Diacht's reign, their priests have begun to tone down the decor of the city, removing any frivolity that had been damaged in last month's rain, for repair or replacement and storage until next season. The streets are a little more bare than they usually are, colour-wise, but hey, Ohnir is just around the corner.

July (Lasdia) Event Log

Lasdia is here, and with it, the summer heat! Buy a fan, get some AC, cool down by jumping in the new pond that apparently exists on the west side of the city now, or the public baths' open pool. By all estimations, it's going to be a hot one, but the robotic residents are not certain as to what's changed to make it so. Some have pondered if it has anything to do with the barrier shifts, others theorize that it's simply a matter of sun cycles. Regardless, they're working hard to make sure everyone has access to sunscreen this summer.

Also worth noting, the numerous shifts in city culture that have been in place since July's World Status went live are still occurring, so characters might not find Havenwell especially friendly this month. Try not to take it too personally.

♥ What: Aerith's catch all for the month.

1: Her Garden - [It would be a long while before her garden was in full bloom, but that didn't stop her from doing her best with what she had.

Aerith was in the small front garden trimming the bushes that were already there along the edged of their property. She was singing softly to herself, her hair bound up in a scarf to keep up off of her neck in the heat while she worked.

This wasn't something she'd ever really done before but she was excited to learn new skills! All the clippings were placed in a large metal box for later.

Come chat to her and keep her company. Maybe she'll invite you in for tea and cookies she'd made earlier?]

2: Arena - [The short sword in her hands clanged against the one held by the... what were they? Fighting dummies? She had no idea what they were but knew people used them to practice their skills and Aerith hoped to do the same.

She'd been at it for almost an hour now. Sweat dripped down the sides of her face, her hair clung to her forehead and her arms trembled from fatigue, but she showed no signs of stopping just yet.]

I'll get you... you... oh, I don't know. I'll think of an insult later.

[Aerith wasn't good at trash talking at the best of times, so she swung her sword again.

Feel free to come join her, take up her practise session and show her the ropes or tell her to quit it before she ends up passing out!]

3: Insomnia - [Not actually working, Aerith is sat at a table outside with a strange collection of items in front of her including many colourful feathers and flower petals... and a plate of loaded potato skins. Those where why she was at this particular place!

She seemed to be enjoying herself sorting everything out into colours rather than type. But she would still love company, so come chat with her. She might even share her potato skins with you!]

4: Wildcard: Out and about. You'll find her most places, the botanic gardens, Valeo, Petals and Pages or Insomnia. Maybe even home if you'd like to come by! Or maybe in a café drinking a coffee and enjoying a delicious cupcake?

June (Dianir) Event Log
Ainea's time has ended and now Diacht's months have arrived. Dianir marks the beginning of the hot summer months with a rise in temperature as well as humidity. With each passing day, spring gives way to summer, and the natives of Havenwell are enjoying the blue skies along with the newly expanded barrier. With the most dangerous of the beasts gone thanks to offworlder help last month, researchers and conservationists head out on occasion into the newly opened areas to continue the work of cataloguing and preserving what they can find. Some take time to study the barrier and some just seem to enjoy being outside the walls for the first time in centuries. Meanwhile, the city within seems to have calmed from Ealom's excitement, settling into its usual routine with only a few…"hiccups."

Pretty much anybody in Pyra's communicator with whom she's even remotely friendly will have received a notice this past week or so with the date, time, and address for… a birthday party! Come on by and pass along your well wishes.

mood

The younger Caelum household is decorated with blues and reds, nothing too fancy but done with obvious care: balloons, streamers, woven flowers. There's music jamming in the living room area, loud enough to be heard but not enough to overwhelm the entire house. Mostly easy listening car tunes, but there's a handful you could dance to if that's your jam.

Noctis is properly hosting rather than wallflowering for once, at the beck and call of the lady of the hour for whatever she wants. He'll make a point to sit Pyra down in a extra-fancily-decorated chair at some point to open presents, complete with a dorky foil crown on her head. She's the queen today!

food

The party is partially catered by Affurgato, as is tradition, so the quality of the buffet is on point. There's also plenty of finger foods from Lucis- real fries, sushi platters, grilled meat skewers. It all smells great.

The cake is a strawberry-vanilla swirl, simply but cutely decorated with chocolate-dipped ulwaat strawberries. There's no set number of candles on the cake; they're peppered on with no set pattern at all. (How old is she? Don't worry about it.)

If you need a quiet space away from a crowd, try the backyard. There you'll find… well, a different crowd. It's kind of a zoo. There's a hawk in his mews, a blue chocobo in her garage stall, two dogs chasing one another, and a lazy mercat in her corner pool. The garden is lovely and populated with freshly growing spring flowers, and while it's somewhat full of furry critters, at least it's quiet.

May (Ealom) Event Log
Ealom has arrived and with it comes its typical beautiful weather. The days and nights are pleasantly warm and the city's flora is in full bloom. The greenery from last year has integrated fully into Havenwell's daily life, and pots of flowers can be found on native windowsills and in shops, usually decorated with pink and purple ribbons to celebrate the final month of Ainea. This time last year, a refreshing wind blew through the city, rejuvenating the landscape and this year a new type of change has come on the winds. Look to the skies, offworlders...

Mission

To encourage the use of the city's arena through renovations and other improvements while preserving the location's structural integrity, art, and citizen's access.

Goals

- Repair and clean the grounds
- Update venue's features by installing sound system (Tony)
- Add new training equipment, in particular the building of a trebuchet (Feanor)
- Test new training bots, apparatuses, and the nanomachines with an experimental holodeck that can create battle scenarios
- At least one individual (Prompto Argentum) document mission through photographs of various stages in progress for posterity, thank you friend
- Group of volunteers ~~sit around and sing 'Kumbaya'~~ donate time and physical contact (i.e. holding hands, etc), help with Dora donations for supplies, pray, and/ or any other tribute to the gods for successful mission

Warnings

- No damaging the Arena. This is to improve it because we like it and want to keep it.
- Leave the art alone. That is part of the legal agreement between the project participants and the city officials.
- Katsuki is not allowed to threaten anyone's health or use an explosion in a damaging way. If caught, tell Tony and he will be used as one of the training apparatuses or in the catapult.

The intention had been to keep this party small and limited to Eos' favorite boy band and their groupies but with everyone helping out with the bar and the good mood he'd been in... Tony might have accidentally invited more people. Like.. a lot more people. Okay, so he invited everyone. In his defense, who would want to miss out on an official Tony Stark Bash™?

Starting the middle of the afternoon on Friday, the neighborhood surrounding Regis' house would notice an increase in activity as people arrived. By that evening, the windows were open, the music was blaring, and booze was flowing. Someone might have used just about all their extra they'd earned on making tonight special for someone.

So come one and all over to the King's house and let the King of the party pour you a fresh homebrewed beer from his keg, grab some Ignis and Pyra treats, enjoy a slice of delicious red velvet cake with strawberries made by Tony, and drop off a token of appreciation for the birthday boy and keep our fingers crossed he'll show up!

March (Ainir) Event Log
Say goodbye the rainbow dragon god's months because Ainea (and spring) are officially arriving! The days are growing warmer and the snow is melting as Ainea's reigning period begins with Ainir. While there are still some cold, blustery days in the mix and pockets of snow can still be found here and there, the weather in Havenwell is trending upward toward pleasant days and cool nights. The city is bedecking itself in Ainea's colors of pink and purple, taking down the rainbow hues of Rawna. Soon enough people may be wanting to have lunch dates in the park and spend more time outdoors, which would be great if it wasn't for one little pesky thing...

February (Nalom) Event Log
Now that Nalom has begun, Rawna's power is beginning to wane and the inhabitants of Aellyn's last city know that Ainea's time is approaching. The winter months are beginning to warm again, although that doesn't mean the snow is completely gone just yet. With the residents beginning to mix their iridescent adornments and decorations with those of pink and purple, the atmosphere of Havenwell is becoming a little less apathetic and little more loving. Last year, the people celebrated a Happy Nalom with odd new customs, and after a year they've decided to try again with something new. While Rawna's priests are just as apathetic as always, the rest of the city is getting into the mood and it seems that their digitally warm hearts are heating up the city because...
