Regulars of Affurgato might notice things have spiced up a little bit in the last several days; the decor is a little brighter, the staff more upbeat, and the food, while tasty as ever, is a little different. The restaurant is advertising a summer menu of slow-cooked BBQ sliders, sweet potato fries with honey butter dip, grilled pineapple and watermelon slices, and warm peach cobbler with ice cream. The prices are slightly more premium than usual, but ooh, doesn't it all smell worth it? Newcomers might even get a discount, if the right elf twin gets their bill. But how do you know which one's the right twin? ...Yeah, good luck with that.

For this week, the menu will include two curious additions as well: a Thanksgiving-esque meal including fresh slabs of turkey and stuffing, flavoured with bacon grease, and a slice of rainbow layer cake. The cats are very attentive, especially to recognizably good tippers, and there's a display sign outside the door with a doodle of a binicorn in flashy sunglasses shouting the words "ONE YEAR MORE, NERDS", which might be weird to those who know that Affurgato opened about six months ago. Ah, well.

Also noteworthy is the fact that an actual, tangible magical bicicorn will be running around for the first 45 minutes of every daily shift that the restaurant is open, trying to scoop people up onto his back and deposit them in front of the shop. You're here now, so you might as well get a meal, right? Don't question it.

Come one, come all! Enjoy some good food and the company of your neighbours, maybe visit the elves and see what's up.

[Days like this, he's very glad that he's discovered allergy medicines and that they control his cat allergy better than he ever thought possible. If Sebastian were here, he'd still vehemently deny the demon though.

His curiosity gets he best of him mid-way through the week and, recognizing that there were cats, he made sure two take a full dose of his allergy medicine before slipping inside and looking around. Of course, his eyes are drawn to the desserts first but everything does smell really good.

A part of him will still prefer what he and Undertaker make but that's purely because they do that together.]

[She's quick to sidle on over, like a good restauranteur ought to.]

Hey kiddo, what's up? You look almost gloomy, and that's definitely not allowed in this place.

Eh?

[He's confused for a moment, looking over at Lup and slowly shaking his head.] Do I really look gloomy?

[He realizes after saying it that he probably does. Or at least a bit nervous.] I'm hoping my allergy medicine works, mostly.

Allergy medicine?

[Such a thing exists??]

[Thank goodness for the future, right?]

Mhm, I had to find some when we got here. And it's paying off, I'm actually terribly allergic to cats.

[A cure to allergies would be better though. Then he never has to worry about carrying along a few allergy pills.]

Oh, yikes. If there was ever a place to test it out, this would be it... just don't stop breathing in here, got it?

Don't worry, I'll be careful. If it gets too bad, I'll duck outside and call Undertaker to help me. Luckily, he's seen the worst of it before.

[And medicine here, while not specifically aimed at flesh-folk like him, would at least have records to treat it. He hopes.]

[Goddamn she sure hopes the undertaker won't take care of him. Good grief.]

I'll take your word for it. Are you allowed to pet them, or should I send them in the directions of other customers?

I don't know, actually. This is the first time I've ever started using allergy medication before. My home world didn't have medicine developed to this level before.

[He looks around, and they are cute.]

I can try, if I start to feel wrong, I'll be sure to get out. I don't want to cause you any trouble.

Yeah, probably for the best. We don't have any clerics on staff, and someone dying on-site is never good for business.

[After helping out with washing dishes for a while, Minato's cleaned up and heads back out into the restaurant proper. It's pretty lively still with everything going on, though he does spot someone who looks more pensive than anything, looking at the desserts. He stands next to him and peruses the selection too.]

See something you like?

[Hm. Maybe that's why he's thinking. It's hard to decide, perhaps, on just one.]

[He's not expecting anyone to approach him, although he probably should considering it's a party. He tears his eyes away the food and manages a little smile.]

I've always had a sweet tooth, so it's hard deciding what to try. And to convince myself not to go straight to the sweets.

[Minato smiles in return. Sometimes it is hard to resist sweets though, so it's understandable.]

Sweets first is sometimes better so you can enjoy it without being too full. Did you want to get two and share?

[If he can't decide on one, then maybe two is better?]

[Oh, Minato, he likes you.]

I think you may be the first person to be on mind side about that. [He can't help but laugh but nods after.]

I'd be glad to. Which ones were you eyeing?

[When it comes to food, they should be able to eat whatever they want! Minato smiles and is glad that the proposal to share is accepted too. But what to choose? Hmm. He'll go with the restaurant is named after then.]

The affogato, probably. But if you pick the two, I'm okay with that.

[And since it is food, Minato's good with anything. Ciel should be able to pick what he wants.]

Honestly, I always aim for something with chocolate. I'm weak for it. [He laughs but his sweet tooth has caused some trouble in the past.]

Let's get that then, my treat. To new friends?

[A sweet tooth? Causing trouble? Minato hopes it's not a terrible kind of trouble. But friends. He likes the sound of that.]

Perfect, thank you. I'll owe you though, for this.

[He doesn't want to appear like he's taking advantage of Ciel's kindness. He's not, he promises. He'll have to make it up to Ciel some time.]

I'm Minato Arisato. And you?

[Depends on what kind of trouble he considers beheading a chocolate statue to snack on in the privacy of his office about an hour before a party. Without telling anyone.]

Think nothing of it. In light of making new friends, it's a worthy cost.

[He'll make sure to pay ahead of them getting their food and gesture for Minato to pick somewhere for them to settle.]

Pleased to meet you. My name is Ciel Phantomhive.

[But that's the best kind of trouble, of course! Minato inclines his head as thanks once more and does pick out a place near a window for them to sit. He's looking forward to the conversation paired with sharing the desserts.]

It's nice to meet you too, Ciel. Is it okay to ask how long you've been here in this world?

[It seems like some people have been here a year already, which is kind of a long time, considering. Also he still feels a little weird calling someone by their first name having just met them, but so far no one's really minded, so he goes with it.]
