January (Lasra) Event Log

Are you feeling free of last year's burdens, offworlders? The natives certainly are after spending the final month of the year at Rawna's temples. Now it's time for a new beginning even as the cold deepens, leaving snow drifts piled along Havenwell's streets. Industrious robots are hard at work keeping the city clean and removing any ice from the stone roads, leaving only beautiful winter scenery behind. The city sparkles under the snow and the silvery white decor brings out of their temples the priests not only for Rawna, but all of the gods.

PROMPT I: The Temple Celebrations
lights decoring trees in front of a church

As noted in the Intro Log, the residents of Havenwell have been invited to help with the decorations in order to incorporate your worlds' cultures with their own, and to assist in celebrating the new year's coming. Residents are encouraged to visit any temple at their convenience or pleasure and join in the design process. There are craft tables, ranging from basic (for the younger or less skilled, such as kites or papercraft) to intricate and advanced designs (like glass lanterns or embroidery). Those less creatively-inclined are welcome to use their various skills, magics, or just ladder-balancing talents to help with the decoration installations around town. Many hands make light the work, after all.

Each temple has music playing and all of them have their associated animals not inside the temple like normal, but spread all over the temple grounds and surrounding areas. They aren't lost for once, but seem to be beckoning people toward their respective homes which are bedecked with holograms of dark green leafy boughs, ribbons, and ornaments all in the temple's colors. Diacht has red and white striped ornaments, Ohma has blue and gold, and Ainea is bringing up the cute factor with pink and purple. But Rawna is looking especially resplendent with rainbow sheened silver ornaments hung in the air, mixed in with real ones that are suspended from wires so thin they look as if they're hanging in midair. The dragonlings fly through the air, trailing silver ribbons behind them that make the temple really seem to shine this month. At each temple, simply by showing up, you can receive a small gift from the priests regardless of whether or not you're an adherent. And they invite you to play the temple games or dance along to the festive music playing from speakers. Each temple has something different to offer, so grab a friend and make your first visit of the year a special one!
  • Ainea:
  • Ainea's temple offers a soft fluffy pink and purple-swirled scarf that's long enough for you and a friend to wear at the same time if you so wish. The temple's game is called "The Best Of." You and a partner step upon a small silver platform and each pull a card from a pile. Tell your partner about the prompt on the card in order to clear it. Only honest answers count and you'll know when the other person is being honest because the platform sings a little jingle and counts a point for your pair. The more cards you can get through, the higher your points! Some examples of the prompts are things like: the most embarrassing moment of the last year, most exciting moment of the last year, hardest you laughed last year, most beautiful thing you saw last year, most memorable trip from the last year, favorite song of the year, etc.
  • Rawna:
  • Rawna's temple has an offering of beautiful gloves, threaded with rainbow thread at the wrists in an intricate and abstract pattern that somewhat resembles dragons in flight. Their game is one of flying kites. For a small Dora donation, priests will give you a thin slip of paper to write a wish upon. Tie your wish, or wishes if you're here with someone else, to your kite and get help from someone to make it fly the highest in the hopes that the gods will hear and answer you. As you deepen your relationship with the person you're flying your kite with by talking or sharing the meaning of your wishes, the kite seems to fly higher and higher.
  • Ohma:
  • Ohma's offering is a tasteful blue, wide-brimmed hat with a gold ribbon and flower accents. Their game is a card matching one. For those read up on Havenwell's poets, try your hand at this game where you match the beginning of the poem with the next line. A robot judge reads the first line and then you have to find the corresponding card among a field of brightly colored cards. Grab the card first and win points! For those not familiar with Havenwell's poetry, you can try the game with more simple themes like colors and fruits (not that they make much sense - why is an apple blue??) or facts about the other people in Havenwell. ....when did that game become so popular?
  • Diacht:
  • Diacht's offering is a white and red feather pendant necklace on a thin white-gold chain. Their game seems to be something like Earth's game of badminton, but minus a net. Grab a pair of large white and red wooden paddles and a multicolored shuttlecock and try batting away the year's bad luck by keeping the shuttlecock aloft. If you're the one to drop it, your opponent gets to draw on your face with a special ink-brush that has the ink contained in its handle. For the non-athletically inclined, you can watch the professionals play the game as the robotic natives most renowned for the art of this game are trying to break a Havenwell record for a single continuous game: 22 days.

PROMPT II: Your Yearly (Mis)Fortunes
a hand pulling a fortune in front of a set of temple drawers

At each temple along all the other celebrations and games, you can also find a separate booth that has a strange and unreadable Aellyn script on it. The robot sitting behind the booth has their face covered with a strip of fabric that obscures it completely, but it calls out to you when you walk by. It offers you an ancient-looking wooden container with a single small hole at the top. If you take it, it mimes shaking the container and tipping it over. Do as they say and a wooden stick pops out of the top with that same strange script on it. The robot takes a look at what you got and takes the container back, passing you a single strip of paper with reverence. "Keep your fortune close or learn to let it go," it says, and then looks to find another patron. Turn your paper over and discover what your fortune holds for you.
  • Big Luck:
  • "The world shall become your limitless bounty, until you choose to rely on others." After reading your fortune, the world does indeed seem limitless. Or maybe it's just large? Everything around you has suddenly gained in size. The fortune-teller's booth seems like a mountain. The stones under your feet like a massive raft. Has the world suddenly grown? Nope, you've just shrunk down to about 5 to 6 inches tall. Everything you were holding and on your person is also proportional to your new size. Hopefully you can find someone to carry you around for a bit because only by being carried will you return to your natural size. As an option, this can happen to you again randomly at any time during the month so long as you keep the paper fortune on you.
  • Medium Luck:
  • "All that glitters is gold for you until another helps you out." After reading your fortune, nothing much seems to have overtly changed. And you probably won't notice anything until the next time you try to eat something. Any time your hands touch any food or anything that can be used to feed yourself, it explodes into glitter and your communicator rings as a deposit of Dora is made into your bank account. This seems pretty awesome at first, until you realize you can't eat anything and you're getting hungry. You may need to get someone else to feed you your next meal, after which the curse seems to have been broken. However, you have the option to have this effect happen again randomly at any time during the month so long as you keep the paper fortune on you.
  • Small Luck:
  • "The smallest things can bring the biggest rewards." After reading your fortune, nothing much seems to have changed until you return home and find all of your pillows, blankets, and bedding have turned much, much too small for you. If you're an adult, the bedding is now the size suitable for a baby. If you are a child, you're looking at something small enough for a large doll. Any bedding you try to borrow changes its size as well, and it seems the only thing that can change them back is to share your bed or a blanket with someone else for a night. When you wake up from your nap or your slumber, everything will be back to normal. As an option, you can have this effect happen again randomly any time during the month so long as you keep the paper fortune on you.
  • Bad Luck:
  • "The love of an animal is almost as strong as the love of your fellow people." After reading this fortune, all the temple animals turn and look at you in unison. They seem to be drawn toward you, literally, as they begin to converge and run toward you like a tidal hoard in an attempt to cuddle you. You best run or they threaten to bury you under their mass, and they'll keep chasing you until you find comfort in the arms of another - whether that's climbing on top of them to get away or jumping into their arms to avoid the tidal wave of mice - as soon as you cling to someone else, the animals seem to lose interest. You can optionally have this effect activate again at any time during the month so long as you keep the paper fortune on you, creating a new stampede of animals of any variety that try to love you just a liiiittle too much.
  • Terrible Luck:
  • "Even bad luck can be the beginning of a beautiful friendship." After reading this fortune, you don't immediately feel any different. In fact, nothing much seems to have changed at all. You decide to walk away from the booth though, and that's when it hits you - or rather you hit it. You're overcome with a clumsy streak the size of a meteor belt as you bump, trip, and fall into just about everything in your path be it inanimate or animate. If it's inanimate, hopefully you don't mind a few bruises. If they're another person, maybe they'll catch you because only by being caught by someone can you break your clumsy streak. As an option, you can have this effect come back at any time so long as you keep the paper fortune on you.

OOC: If you wish to roll for a random fortune, leave an comment with your character's name in the Request Thread. The mods will randomize for you and give you your fortune. Your character can only claim 1 fortune, no matter how many times they attempt the fortune-teller's game. Feel free to choose your own fortune instead, if you would prefer a set result.

PROMPT III: Memories of the Sun (VR)
a sunrise shining over a mountain

This seasonal VR simulation is especially popular with the natives for the fact that it lets them see their world as it used to be. Load into the simulation "Memories of the Sun" and you'll be transported along with all others who are currently logged in to make a pilgrimage up Aellyn's most sacred mountain. Although its peak is rocky and somewhat barren, it has a serene beauty as it reaches up through the cloud layer and you climb upwards through the dark. The path is clearly lit by small lamps embedded into the ground, but you might find it easier to take the climb if you hang onto someone else. Once you reach the peak, whether you're alone or with someone else, you'll be treated to the sight of a gorgeous sunrise peeking over the thinning clouds. It's a sight to remember, and a sight that brings memories. As you watch you're overcome with a very real vision of your home, a place you remember, or people you know. This vision is typically of a better time in your life, something to bring you hope and peace as the new year dawns - but not always. Is this a vision of your past? Your future? Of your present? If you came here with someone else, they can also choose to share in your vision and you in theirs. Are you brave enough to face what the mountain has to show you?

PROMPT IV: All the Ups and Downs
And while the celebrations continue, there seems to be something a little awry with Havenwell. Here and there throughout the month, gravity has gone utterly haywire. You can be walking from temple to temple or going about your everyday life when suddenly you feel yourself lifted off the ground or heavier than you have any right to be. Havenwell's natives aren't immune to this effect either, and you might see a robot go shooting up into the sky suddenly to hover a good five to ten feet in the air. Or they might take a step and suddenly fall flat on their faces, their gears whirring with the strain as they try to pick themselves up. Thankfully the other natives are quick to jump up and grab their companions if they're flying overhead or pull their friends out of the well if they're stuck to the ground. If you find yourself caught up in these gravity wells, you'll need someone's help to do the same. Be sure to pay it forward because you'll never know when it could be you in this awkward position.

This event will run from January 15 to January 31. Click on each prompt's title to see the text. If you have any questions, feel free to direct them to the FAQ or to the Mod Question thread below.

This post is meant to act as a catch-all for convenience, but feel free to make your own posts if you prefer!

Maybe you should help that little fella get home. Warping there sure isn't working very well.]

A: Temple Games: Rawna Edition:
[ Having spotted you at the dragon-god's temple, whether she knows you or not Pyra warmly solicits your company to excitedly guide you over to where Rawna's kite-flying offering begins. She even extends a hand (or lends you an arm) at this point, should you be partial to it. Given a slip of paper by the temples' priests, Pyra passes it to you. ] A wish...  [ She speaks softly, smiling as the blank piece of paper in your hand. ] You have to write your wish down. [ Pyra inclines her head, her smile whimsical, a bit playful. ]

Think carefully, because it has to carry this kite all the way up to the heavens.

[ She's teasing, of course. It's just a game. ]

B: Gravity
[ Should you be minding your own business as you walk down the street, a golden headband, adorned with a teal-emerald gem seemingly falls from above. Whether you catch it or allow it to clatter to the ground, a voice calls out: ] O-oh...! My apologies.

[ If you crane your neck, you might see this red-haired woman floating, clinging to a streetlamp so that she might not fall anymore upward. Pyra extends a hand towards you. ] Would you mind...? [ --Helping her, that is, to bring out of this well. ]

C: Bad Luck
[ Guess who loves others and the world so, so much? Pyra does! Guess who just came from Rawn's temple? This girl, too! Guess who is being chased and promptly piled up by those (not-so-tiny-anymore) dragonlings? Pyra!

That's right, a swarm of dragonlings have climbed and cuddled upon her, and either you've witnessed this happen or have just turned the corner to come upon a small swam of them conglomerating over a single point, blocking the entire path. Out of this pile a hand extends desperately. ]
H...hello? Is anyone there? [ Her hand waves back and forth, searching for anyone who might be. ]  A little help, please?

[ It's not awful to be cuddled by cute dragons, but there sure are a lot of them. ]

D: Virtual Reality, Later in the Event/Month
[ Having completed this quest before with someone else, she knows what may be revealed once reaching the top of this small mountain. Somehow, she's convinced you to join her in this virtual reality. ] You'll see something precious at its summit.

[ The path of the mountain isn't treacherous in the dark, and she gives off a faint glow of with her own crystals besides. Pyra begins this new pilgrimage by offering a hand to guide you along this journey. ]  I promise, [ The amber glow of the lanterns adorning the sides of the path is gentle and welcoming, and her tone is just as soft. Should you be holding her hand at this point, she gives it a reassuring tug forward. Come follow, come follow. ]  the dawn atop of this peak... is worth seeing.

[Takashi hasn’t been to a festival for more then in passing since he was a kid, but he still always did his fortune. So of course he allows the little dragons to lead him to the booth-

Medium Luck!

He’ll consider that a glimpse of how well this little ‘vacation’ was going to go for him and that’s all he thinks about it until he tries to get a snack from the booth. The first few times he tried to eat and got a face full of glitter he was too pissed to notice the pings on his communicator. But eventually he figures it out and with a devilish grin a plan forms.

As he explores the festival he might just bump into someone getting ready to eat- enjoy that face full of glitter. Seems he gets the dora even if it’s not his food. Oops~

Though a few days into the festival he ends up staying at home, popping food out of the replicator and getting more glitter poured on his face. Even starting to get dizzy from the lack of food he’s still raking in that bank.]

Ia. Arts and Crafts
[Will has taken steadily more of an interest in art since he's arrived in Havenwell, now that he actually has the time to try it out. He's turned out to have something of a knack for it, even! So now that the new year has rolled around, he's thrown himself into helping design, create, and decorate with an impressive amount of enthusiasm. You can find him at just about any table, from attempting to help with glass blowing and metalworking, (why is he trying to work in designs involving sheep in various shapes?) to working on a shaky but respectable cross-stitch of a Winter Sawsbuck starting to grow the beautiful flowers of its Spring form, to getting covered in inky smudges as he tries out drawing with calligraphy brushes.

It doesn't matter if he knows you or not, or if you're just here for the freebie gift. Even if you don't seem to have any intention of sticking around to help decorate, dance, or play games, Will is waving you over regardless, holding up his currently in-progress decoration for inspection.]

What do you think? It needs a little extra something, right?

Ib. Temple Games
[The games the temples come up with are always so interesting! Will is keen on trying all of them out, especially when he learns about the neat little gifts that visitors get. Even if he has already played the game before, it's fun to play with someone new and get to know them too, right?

If you look interested in the games--or just like you maybe need a little convincing--you might find Will reaching for your hand.]

Doesn't that look fun? Let's try it out!

IIa. Poor (Un)Fortunate Soul
[Oh. Oh, this was not what he had expected when he'd read this fortune. Having a lot of fortune and limitless potential and generosity from the world sounderd fantastic..... right up until he'd realized that was because everything was far too big for him now. He doesn't let out his Pokémon, for fear of them being stuck at this size, too.....

So now Will is scampering along the street as well as he can, looking for familiar..... shoes, and pants, (or skirts, no judging here) because it's kind of hard to see faces properly from this vantage point. He may be trying to call out to you, even if you're not familiar--how can he tell from all the way down here, after all?--, or jump to grab onto the hem of your clothing if you're about to walk away. Better than getting stepped on, right? Maybe all these big people can't hear him properly like this.]

Hello? Excuse me!

IIb. It's a Small Big World After All
[Alternately, he may have had a Pokémon or two out with him already, who mercifully escaped the size change. You may see a Xatu, Chansey, Flareon, or Hypno wandering around seemingly unattended. Where is their owner?

You might see him, if you look just a little closer--he's probably just hidden in fur, feathers, or an egg pouch. Whoops! At least the critters are friendly if you approach?]

III. Memories of the Sun
[The moment he'd heard of this program in the VR, Will had been absolutely fascinated. Aellyn as it had once been, back when it was lush and healthy and thriving? Of course he wanted to see it! And for anyone reluctant to trust VR that he'd attempted to coax into coming with him, he'd no doubt stressed the informative aspect of the simulation, too--what better way to learn more about this world than to see it in its past, pristine state?

He looks up at the mountain with a low whistle; the lights stretch on for quite a distance upwards, like a star-lined path ascending into the night sky. It's already a pretty sight; he doesn't doubt the view from the peak is breathtaking.]

Looks a little steep, but I bet it'll be worth it! Are you up for the climb?

IVa. All the Ups and Downs
Woah!

[Whether it's his first time experiencing it, or his hundredth, Will stil isn't used to these strange gravity fluctuations around town. How can he be, when there's absolutely no warning? If he's eating shit from a gravity spike, odds are pretty good he's just going to lay there and groan for a bit; he's been flattened so thoroughly he's having a hard time even moving his arms to try and push himself up. Please don't trip over him? (Or do, I'm not the boss of you.)

If gravity has gone on a vacation, though? He's probably laughing in delight within moments, waving as he zooms wildly past overhead. Sure, it might be unexpected--but why not enjoy flying under his own power for once, even if it's hard to control? This is so cool!]

IVb. Ain't No Mountain High, Ain't No Valley Low
[If he's the lucky unaffected one, though, he'll probably be trying not to laugh at your predicament instead. He stretches out a hand--up or down, depending on which state he finds you in.]

Need a little help?

Tamaki Yotsuba | IDOLiSH7 [Diacht]

[personal profile] 21kingpuddings 2020-01-16 03:40 am (UTC)(link)

Ah! How amazing! He'd really been hoping that there would be some kind of New Year's celebration going on, and the festivities offered by Havenwell do not disappoint!

First off, he checks out what's going on at his patron temple, which means that Diacht's 'badminton' game will have one very enthusiastic participant for a majority of the month! This might not be a sport he's well versed in necessarily, but he likes getting up and moving around like this, and his reflexes are nice and sharp! What he lacks in precise skill, he makes up for in enthusiasm!

On a different note, Rawna's kites are something he'd been secretly itching to do anyway, what with it being such a familiar tradition as it is. Oddly enough, the first time he drops by to do it, he seems... kind of mad? And also kind of like he's been ambushed by glitter more than once?? Like someone's luck's been kind of weird??? But later visits will have him in a significantly better mood, just kind of enjoying the simple joy in flying a kite.

Simple, team-building type games are pretty interesting, too. He can't help but wonder what the rest of his group would think of The Best Of, maybe something to consider telling them about when (if??) he returns home... Until then, playing with the other offworlders is good, too. Whatever partner he's been paired with, he offers up an easy smile. "Ready?" Let's draw a card, friend!

Lastly, more cranial pursuits are... not Tamaki's forte. But Ohma's card matching is the only thing in the way of him and being able to say he tried all of the games. He's no good at the poetry version of it, but apparently the simpler version isn't actually that much easier?? "What the heck?" Bananas aren't? red? hold up this doesn't make sense??

III
A VR simulation for a mountain climb, huh... This must have been a pretty popular thing if they ended making a whole game out of it. Tamaki's always pretty interested in the new offerings in the cafe, so he may as well take this adventure for a spin as well. He can't say that mountain climbing's anything he's ever gotten to do, not like this, so maybe there'll be some kind of fun to be had in just the new experience alone!

So, once everyone's plugged in and ready to set off, he turns to whoever he ended up queued with. "Ready to go?"

IV
Havenwell's a pretty weird place, isn't it? And, like, outside of its typical kind of weirdness, things that you can kind of get a feel for quickly enough, there are some other kinds of weirdness that are really hard to get used to.

It's probably, uh, gonna be extra hard to get used to these sudden gravity hiccups, especially if there's no way he can pull himself back down from the heights he's been shot up to.

"H-hey! Up here!"

It'd be hard not to marvel at the festivities the temples have pulled out for this month. The end of the year had been fairly quiet, all things considered, that Shinji wasn't sure whether or not to expect some kind of big event to be laid out for Havenwell to enjoy, but, here we are. Newcomers have been pulled in, and with them, the temples have been decked out in all sorts of flashy ornaments and music... a truly festive way to ring in the new year.

It's. Ah. It's all really a bit much for Shinji's tastes, though. He doesn't hate it, and he doesn't mind hanging around Rawna's temple to help with general tidying up, but the priests are very eager to share their traditions with the offworlders, and he finds himself being gently shooed away from work-like tasks more often than not. At least kite flying isn't so bad? With recent secret confessions about wishes and how catastrophically he messed up with the last one he was given, he wants to take a little extra time and put a little extra thought into this one, even if the chances of it being meaningful in any tangible way feel... slim.

He can easily be found at the temple, either quietly pondering over what to write on the slip of wishing paper, or perhaps actually out flying a kite a little later on. How nice. How very relaxing.

IV
You know what's not relaxing? Unexpected shifts in gravity. Who thought that was a good idea?? Probably no one, but still, what gives? Shinji's finding himself caught off guard by it more often than he'd like. Just walking along? Having a good time? Suddenly tripping over literally nothing when his foot hits a spot of high-gravity and slamming into the ground at an alarming speed? Cool. Fun.

"Jeez..." It's a struggle just to pry himself off the ground enough to check and make sure he isn't seriously injured or anything. Perhaps... he could use some help.

( ❥ Temple Visiting )

[ Decorating is just another word for distraction, and her skill with craftwork tends to favor the more intricate works, as she's less familiar with handling the "simpler" constructs. And so she designs lanterns, small statues, quietly elegant things. Unless one had seen her at work on them she would not necessarily say she had contributed to the tasks. Yet, with her abilities she can assist in setting up any decorations that someone finishes by levitating them to have them placed as needed.

And in this way, she can continue her actual intent; which was not necessarily to provide decoration, but to familiarize herself with the temples once more, to compare them to how they had looked during her first few months here to now. While the festivities are ongoing it's more because someone close to her suggested it, and yet she uses that opportunity mostly to observe rather than get caught up in games. Is she taking notes, or gathering ideas for trivia, who knows -! ]

( ❥ Big Luck )

[ There's a cat that seems to be wandering around unattended, because she hadn't been holding on to him at the time of her particular misfortune. Is the cat lost or on it's own? Sometimes he seems to be looking around for someone, wandering around and meowing, glancing upward or nuzzling the ankles of someone familiar. Maybe his owner answers text messages...? If one knows her.

... Or one might find the cat in pursuit of something far smaller than him, that he can't quite seem to catch. Just normal cat behavior, right? Although there is the chance that he might have already succeeded when one spots him. At least time in this world has taught him not to really hurt whatever he catches for play, but that still doesn't make it particularly comfortable to be trapped by your own cat. Yikes.

Although a fellow person not at the proper height might be easier for her to encounter at this rate. Hopefully the cat doesn't spot them first ... ]

A. Get the Star by giving Toad 20 Coins!
[Throughout the month, Somnus rotates temples. On any given day, he might be seen holding onto a temple's respective gift when a priest approaches Somnus and a nearby templegoer to indulge in some entertainment. The priest ushers them over to a platform to pull a card, asks for a donation to fly a wish, suggests a game of matching cards, or simply dumps a paddle in their hands before hucking a shuttlecock at one of them. Whichever of these happens, Somnus looks to his newfound companion for a verdict.]

B. I believe I can't fly.
[It's early in the morning when gravity increases and a small shadow wobbles overhead of a hapless passerby. Should they choose to look up, they'll receive a faceful of falcon as he smacks into them with a squawk. Should they choose to ignore it, the same falcon will bludgeon them on the head anyway. Enjoy the date with gravity and bird, who's been rendered immobile.]

C. Closed to Pyra
[He doesn't typically eat out in the city, so he's yet to realize the meaning of his fortune until he returns to the townhouse. As usual, she greets him with warmth in her smile and eyes before sitting him down for a meal. Somnus nods in thanks when the knife he's picked up erupts into glitter.

The glitter flutters down onto his hair, his nose, his clothes, and his food. Through their descent, Somnus stares blankly at the space in front of him. Cautiously, he places the palm of the offending hand on the counter.

Era Ra (Warrior of Light) | Final Fantasy XIV

[personal profile] astralera 2020-01-16 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
PROMPT 1 - DIACHT
[ Era enjoys physical exertion, challenges, and competition. While she hasn't ever played many modern sports she is familiar enough with them thanks to media, and so is actually quite eager to try her hand at this take on badminton.

Her experience on the battlefield, combined with the (unfair) advantage her Echo cannot help but provide her, gives her preternatural skill. She is, however, only human (so-to-speak), and thus not immune to distraction. ]

PROMPT 2 - RAWNA
[ She has never flown a kite before, and the novelty of it appeals to her almost as much as the beautiful gloves provided by Rawna's temple. The sentimentality of writing a wish and sailing it in the sky is equally appealing, though Era has no intention of her wish being for the 'gods' of this world. She writes a note in her curling, careful Eorzean script and sets about figuring out how to make her kite catch the wind. ]

PROMPT 3 - WHAT LUCK
[ 'Medium Luck' it had said, and the moment she went to eat something she immediately knew it was anything but lucky. The Greek tale of King Midas comes to mind, and it was with a sinking sense of dread that she touched another small piece of food.

She had stockpiled for a shortage of food (it's gone now, lost to a mountain of glitter in her panic), but had no plans in place for being incapable of consuming anything of value.

(After consuming a handful of glitter Era quickly determined that it was, sadly, very Not Edible.)

The actual 'luck' is that she can drink enough water to keep her sated for a while, so she won't suffer dehydration at the very least. But by day three Era feels the effects of hunger truly hitting her, leaving her groggy, lethargic, and light-headed if she moves too quickly. At least if she faints she can blame it on the odd gravity fluctuations that started up alongside the festivities. ]

PROMPT 4 - WILDCARD

[ I. Celebrations ]
[Prompto is super into all of the temple prizes, so help a guy out! He'll be hopping from temple to temple and eagerly seeking partners.

Even if he's already won his prize, he's more than happy to help anyone else get theirs.]

[ II. Terrible Luck ]
[The fortune teller seemed like a fun idea first. Even the fortune didn't seem that bad? He likes beautiful friendships!

Except now he can't go two feet without tripping or tipping into something. Or someone.]

Sorry! My bad!

[ III. VR ]
[He's is always up for a VR adventure. He wasn't a big fan of the great outdoors, but it was a nice change from the same old same old of the city. He'll be happy to join anyone else trekking up the trail, and lend a hand.]

Lukewarm-at-best though Kyoko is towards the Aellyn gods, she has to respect Rawna for being such a straightforward fellow, and so she makes it habit to pay his temple regular visits. It's not like she doesn't have time, and the fledglings are always fun to check up on. It would be cool if this meant the temple priests would clue her in about upcoming events, but she'd just been starting to think all the arts and crafts and special decorations were going to be the sum of the festivities, when she wanders onto the temple grounds to see kites swooping gently through the sky above.

"...Oh!!" It's probably the surprise of it all, but her spirits jump. Spotting a familiar head of fair hair, Kyoko rides the wave of that light mood right on over to Tamaki, greeting him with probably the breeziest smile he's ever seen from her. "Tamakiiii! Happy New Year! I think!"

[ It is not until Era spots the familiar form of Pyra that she recalls the girl enjoys cooking, and since she shares a residence with Somnus and thus likely keeps him fed Era imagines that she is not nearly as horrible as herself when it comes to making food. And, of course, also likely doesn't turn everything edible (and associated dishware) into glitter.

So for once it is Era who approaches Pyra, expression focused. ]

[Accepting the racket, Somnus walks opposite to Noctis. He's less confident, but that does little to alter his affect as he raises the paddle to test its weight. Win or lose, he'll accept either outcome. He lowers the paddle to his side.]

The decision is yours.
