I've told you before--any time you have need of me, even if all I can do is listen, all you have to do is ask. You don't have to thank me; we're the ones stuck in the middle of this, so all we can do is try to help support one another.

Oh, don't curse my luck. I have no doubt I'll stumble on one problem or another before too long. Hopefully we'll at least be fortunate enough to have only one of us be a wreck at a time.

We can pass the trauma back and forth like hot potato or something. I've definitely been hogging it for too long.

[Said jokingly, of course; he's tired and he hates this feeling, would not wish it upon anyone, least of all his family. But it does seem like there's a target on his back at times, so that's not great.]

Were I able to take such a thing at will, I would. Unfortunately, it's never quite so easy or predictable as all that.

Nothing's that easy. Which sucks, because if it was that easy I'd shove it at Bahamut and he could deal for a few years instead.

We've carried the weight of his choices long enough, in my opinion. If we're gonna save the world for him, he can at least carry a few of our mental problems.
