[ I; earlier in the day, OTA ]

[ It's Zenitsu's birthday! If you have seen the network recently, Tanjiro has posted a video post talking about the blond's birthday. Somehow, the comments escalated to having a party as opposed to wishing him a happy birthday instead and Zenitsu can't help but feel dreadful about it. Stupid Tanjiro and his big mouth...

Because Tanjiro and Mitsuri are running amok at home making food, Zenitsu's found wandering around the city in his usual gloomy and wary self or arguing with a sparrow. ]

Chuntaro!! Why're you being so mean?!

[ Who knows what they're arguing about. It's probably about Zenitsu and his stubbornness of getting happy birthday wishes. When he does notice you, he jumps in his space. ]

Oh... Hi? For the record, Chuntaro's the one being mean, okay?!


[ II; Just before the dinner party, closed to Yuuji and Tanjiro ]

[ Despite Chuntaro's attempt to get him back home early for the birthday dinner, Zenitsu keeps avoiding going home... To the point where a certain someone and a friend decides it's been long enough. ]


[ III; Party! open to CR or anyone who's seen Tanjiro's post ]

[ If you decide to stop by his house around when the dinner party is held, you might be greeted with a very drained Zenitsu. He's actually greeting at the door because he doesn't want anyone else to get it... unless you already live here. ]

[ Just a pack of two trying to hunt a rabbit, no biggie. He doesn't even have to take a whiff to point to a direction nearby. ]

[ Trusting Yuuji to catch up with him, Tanjiro picks up his pace as he rips out a yell. ]

[He's not interested in going to any parties - he finds them uncomfortable - but he figures it's the best time to find Zenitsu at home. So here he is, thrusting a small box out as soon as Zenitsu has the door open.]

Huh? Nico?? [ For a second, Zenitsu forgets that the other was on the networks talking to Tanjiro about the birthday stuff. He only remembers it when he sees the small box in his hands, and blinks a few times as he looks back up at his friend as he hears the words. ]

Uhm... Thanks... I hope Tanjiro didn't force you into getting anything?? [ No, Tanjiro's not that much of a bully. Zenitsu's just blurting nonsense out. ] Uhm, do you want some food as repayment? Tanjiro and Kanroji-san got super excited and made a bunch of food...

N-no. He said it wasn't necessary. But I, I wanted to. [So...shut up, he's already out of his element here.] It's a gift. You don't have to pay me back for it.

[Well, since Mitsuri has been helping Tanjiro get all the food together and Zenitsu hasn't been home, she doesn't get to see him until the party!

And the moment she sees him, she gives him a big hug~]

Happy Birthday, Zenitsu-kun! Isn't this wonderful? There's people and food and they're all celebrating you!

[She doesn't love birthday's at all, noooo. /sarcasm]

[ Thank goodness Tanjiro and Yuuji literally dragged him home for the food!

Zenitsu's mood definitely brightens from the hug. Who's wouldn't? It's a hug from Mitsuri! Who wouldn't be?! ]

Mitsuri-san! Thank you so much! You didn't have to do all this?!

[Once she pulls away from hugging him, Mitsuri grabs Zenitsu's shoulder and shakes him lightly.]

But we did! It's your birthday! You deserve good food and a party and lots of presents~~

[ At the part, she's lively and friendly to anyone she greets. But for Zenitsu, bubbly and golden youth that he is, she's walking right up to him to give him a hug. ] Happy birthday...! Oh my goodness, seventeen years old! [ Hopefully he can tolerate that squeeze of her embrace, because it's tight. ] And with a boyfriend, too!

[ She has something for him, but she'll be giving it to him in a few moments. Right now, a hug is more important! ]

Pyra! [ Zenitsu definitely perks up at Pyra's presence, especially when he gets a hug. It may be tight, but it's still a hug... from a girl!!!! That's what matters the most in this teenager's mind. He returns the hug, although it's probably not as tight as Pyra's hold. ]

Th-thank you!? [ For the happy birthday, mainly!

He's still a little lost about having a boyfriend thing because he was absolutely sure it wouldn't happen. ]

[Shinji hadn't necessarily been planning on being involved in any kind of actual party for today, but he did want to swing by to offer his well wishes and drop off a small gift for Zenitsu on the big day! Parties may not be his sort of Thing, but it would at least be nice to see the man of the hour for a little bit.

What he's not expecting is to be greeted by someone so run-down looking. Oh, gosh, Zenitsu...]

Um...! [Are you, like, okay??] Happy birthday?

[ No, Zenitsu isn't okay. Not okay at all!! So much attention that he's not sure how to handle, not to mention he's feeling guilty that he didn't go this far for his closest friend when it was his birthday back in July.

When he sees Shinji at the door, Zenitsu immediately starts bawling his eyes out. ]

Shinji-kun! I'm feeling immensely guilty!! Why's Tanjiro doing all this?!

[ Kyoko had been prepared with a bright, easy smile to greet the birthday boy and friends, but when he opens the door and that weary mood washes over her, the expression freezes. ]

Z-Zenitsu-san... did something happen?

[ There's a part of Zenitsu feeling relieved to see Kyoko's face. ]

Kyoko-chan!! Is it normal for someone to chase you down through the entire city to drag them back home on their birthday?! Don't tell me it's a normal thing to do in the modern age?!

[ Whatever happened earlier in the day, Zenitsu's not sure what to believe at the moment. ]

She had seen the beginning of Tanjiro's post, but she had already known this information! Possibly she should have expected things to Escalate considering some of the people here, but her own birthday hadn't exploded when people found out. So! Probably people would have respected Zenitsu's wishes for a quiet affair!

She'd missed him through out town, but she figured she could at least track him down here. Just... not like this. Vianca blinked at the state of everything here.]

The tired expression lifts into his usual perky demeanor as soon as he realizes who's at the door. ]
