[ Have a woman with short, red hair wave and then approach you, whether or not she knows you. Her presence is warm, and her smile is even warmer. She offers a hand. Easy enough, right? This is the simplest method to generate some of this contact-energy and get money out of it, too.  ]

[ Of course. Just as he feels what she feels, she can feel what he feels. There's no mention of any strain on her end—only hesitation regarding something else—which is to be expected with her being what she is. But he had to ask first.

Her hand is warm in his. He feels her, too. She's constant, whereas the ice has already begun to melt and fade.

He's experimented with his magic enough. ]

Is there anything you wish to trial for yourself?

[ Nope, nothing to trial here. She totally has no sword or other fire powers. Only a support character, y u p. ]

Ah, no....

[ A pause. ] But I do want to let you know that the power I lend-- it may feel like much, but it is not infinite.

[ Uh-huh.

Even gods have a limit. The Six combined weren't able to suppress the Scourge. The finite nature of divine power issues Somnus this simple caution: he must not be greedy for her power. ]

I shan't squander it. If I should ever strain your reserves, inform me at once.

[ Though he frames it like a command, it's delivered as a request.

Whether she voices her assent or otherwise, they've experimented enough with the link for now. It's time that they return to the townhouse and part ways from there to go about their daily businesses. The ice will have long faded from sight by the time anyone else comes around this area. ]

[ For her response, she only nods towards him....

Really, with all the power he does have, does he even need any of hers? She's blessed to have witnessed that star at all, let alone feel the divine nature of his own magic, his light, and the manner and reason for which he uses all of it-- for others, for the world, for the future.

What will their trip beyond the barrier bring, should they be granted it? She does not know.

With him giving and giving and giving so much to the world, she wonders if it might ever take anything for himself in return. Or maybe that is just it-- that, like her, he thinks he already has too much, being here with others. For him, that would be being here with his family. She does not know. She cannot know. But she hopes what power she does give him, will be a little something he receives in return...

And so they return to the townhouse, hand-in-hand, only to go their separate ways. ]
