[Diacht's temple seems like an auspicious place to do this, given the god's association with birds. There's good visibility here, plenty of space to take off--and more than a few temple ravens around, which his Xatu seem quite curious about. Will is letting them do as they like while they wait; he's seated on a bench outside the temple proper himself, with a pair of harnesses set down beside him, ready to be used.

Whether you've hit up his network post saying you'll be there, are showing up for lessons unannounced, or are just coming to the temple for some other reason, Will is waving excitedly regardless.]

[He's actually not here about flying lessons. He was just stopping in to see if the priests needed any work done and Will happens to be between offers. There's differences between Will's Xatu and the chocobos back home. He knows that, he'd even told Will that he knows that.

But he also knows he has a history with birds and he's pretty sure it's better for him to stick to vehicles, not mounts.]

[Rather than standing to meet Cor, Will just holds his arms up from where he's sitting. Come cuddle with him for a minute? The Xatu may come say hi, too. Surely your History with birds can't be that bad, right?]

I was simply going to see if the Temple needed any assistance. I expected you to be swarmed with requests.

[Of course he comes over to settle next to Will without hesitation, wrapping an arm around his waist immediately.]

[Will nestles against his side with a satisfied hum, clearly pleased with himself. This is an excellent way to spend his break, even if he ends up teaching Cor, too.]

Oh... that's probably a bad idea.

[And as much as he's happy to cuddle his boy.... this is also the first time he's looked nervous around any of the pokemon, side-eyeing the girls uncertainly.]

[Kiwi has made their excitement for these flying lessons pretty loud and clear by now, so it should be no surprise when they come running up the steps to the temple, waving excitedly as they approach.]

I wouldn't miss it for the world!

[Will just claps his hands energetically as he stands, beaming as they run to join him.]

Ready to go? You should probably start with Deja while you're getting used to it. You've had more time to get to know each other, and she's definitely the gentler flier.

[Kiwi bounces lightly on their heels as Will goes on, nodding in agreement. They're just eager to get in the air.]

[He can't help but laugh at the enthusiasm, motioning for Deja to come join them; she flutters over obediently, waiting for Will to lay her harness out before stepping into the proper holes.]

First, you should know how to get the gear on her yourself. Once you make sure everything's in the right place, you want to tighten it until you can just barely slide a finger under the straps, like this.....

[Arceus forbid Kiwi ever needs to fly when he's not around to help him..... but just in case, he wants them to know how to gear up and get moving in an emergency. He'll walk Kiwi through the process of getting everything put on and adjusted--then move on to how to get themselves strapped in, as Deja patiently ducks down to let the bard climb aboard more easily.]

[Kiwi listens intently, following along with Will's instructions. They even give Deja a gentle pet as reassurance and thanks - this has to be a lot of work for one pokemon, after all.

Then it's finally time to get on board. A little hit of nervousness swells in Kiwi's chest, but it's strongly outweighed by the excitement. Holding Will's hand for balance, they hoist themselves into the harness.]

It's just what it sounds like! Now that both of my Xatu are here, you can see what it's like to fly and I can be there to make sure you don't fall.

[Will gestures to the two birds waiting with him. Not exactly a chocobo, but then again, it's not like chocobos can fly, either.]

[Who wouldn't want to see the new Pokemon in person? Verstael was unsure of actually flying. He liked being inside of an airship when he flew. Regardless, he at least showed up to see what was going on, raising a hand in greeting as he approached Will.]

[He had seemed more interested in the idea of it than actually trying it out, after all. Both the Xatu are more attentive now, turning to look at the new visitor.]

[Then he could determine how safe it really was. He might not have been one to show a lot of fear, but he didn't try to get hurt.

He paused in front of Xatu, bowing his head in their direction.]

Deja. Vu. A pleasure.

[Deja bobs her head in greeting; Vu ruffles her feathers a little, peering up at him curiously.]

I guess you'd want to see it with a harness then, hmmm? Vu, feel like showing off a little?

[Vu flaps energetically at the question, preening. Does she want to show off? Is the sky blue?]

[He did always enjoy something new and fascinating. To a certain extent.

The flying part, however, he was happy to take a seat and watch. While the Empire had many things and they certainly had airships and forms of air travel, roller coasters and other forms or thrill seeking were not around. It was very different than anything he was accustomed to and he couldn't help but be wary of it. One needed to have some sense of self-preservation, but it might notably be one of the few times Verstael actually felt nervous about something.

Enough so that he actually gave some words of caution to Will.]

[Although he isn't here for a flying lesson, he recognizes this scene for what it is from the network. Stopped near the entrance of this open place of worship, Somnus glances at the pair of Xatu before turning to Will. A clarification is in order.]

I have come here not to fly, but to see the temple.

Oh, you hadn't seen Diacht's temple yet? Which one do you belong to?

[He doesn't look disappointed by the correction; getting a good idea of all the gods around here is important, after all! Still, it does make him curious.]

[His eyes flit momentarily to the temple beside them. He’s been here before—numerous times, in fact—and there’s almost always something different. Will and the Xatu's presence is an example of this.]

[Although Somnus doesn’t know Will too well, he would have wagered on Ainea over Rawna or Diacht. Ainea seems a popular god of choice.]
