[ She raises her gaze slowly-- up his arm, up his body, noting the various scars and nicks from previous battles here and there. To become the King of Light, he has sacrificed much, and this destiny he has was granted to him by the gods and that crystal. It has been thousands of years in the making.

In their previous conversation, he had acknowledged that he knew his worth, but she had never thought to ask what he thought his worth was. He talked then and he talks now about being tied to that fate, led blindly into the future-- that's not how it should be. The future's path should shine for the righteous, growing ever-brighter. ]
