Vianca...
was in a pickle.
She'd mostly gotten kind of used to being in Havenwell, some deeply pushed down emotions about her predicament aside! Ha ha ha who wanted to confront what happened when it was time to leave robot land not this Pikmin. Not right now. Possibly not ever.
So with that thought good and properly buried, and her starting to feel a bit more comfortable in this new space, there were some things she wanted to work on. If Havenwell's weather was going to continue being so... that for the time being, she really ought to have multiple tools at her disposal! Her actual pikmin form afforded her more options, though this winged version was still new. Flying was still something she was gradually figuring out. So during some of the days where she didn't really run into anyone, Vianca dedicated to practice.
...It was kind of fun! She hoped it was okay to think it was fun. She could buzz around now! She could reach so many high places! Wow! Amazing. Real good.
The pickle Vianca found herself in was that after some of these practice sessions, she... couldn't turn back into a little girl. No little girls here. Just soda can sized plant bug.
With no mouth for speaking.
And she hadn't really. Told anyone yet. She hadn't really meant to keep it a secret, she just wasn't sure who would mind or not yet, and. Well. Maybe that made it a secret by default but. This had never happened before.
Oh no.
Oh no???
So anyway there was a strange, little pink creature buzzing around Havenwell now. It kinda looks like a Pokemon? It kinda looks like a bug? It's got a flower? What the heck! You might catch it buzzin' around looking for... something. Or the wind might just blow it right into you. Gosh.
[[NOTES: As always I'll match whatever format you want to post in! Characters particularly sensitive to plants or different kind of energies might not know its Vianca just from that this way, but if they meet her now and then meet the little girl version later... wink wonk. That big purple flower on her head is the same one she wears in her hair, for the astute detectives among us. I'M DOWN TO PARTY and you can always hit me up at

He winks. Like it's some great wise leap of logic to take Vianca of all people to the library. He has actually not even thought yet of letting her type at him, and is only assuming that books will make her happy, as they tend to do. Even the sad e-book versions, poor girl. And so Magolor heads in that direction, at a quicker clip than he did the time he was guiding her there when she first arrived. He knows the way by now.
no subject
... maybe,
Anyway off they went! Vianca settled in, gently holding on to Magolor's mittened thumb. As they went along, the pikmin softly started humming a more musical venture.
There was a song that Goofy kept singing, and it might have been slightly stuck in her head.
no subject
"When you get your mouth back, I'm dying to hear about how this happened! Can you do it on purpose? Did you get stuck this time? Get ready for all this and more after the commercial break!"
no subject
There was an encore of the exclamation point flower going on right here, right now! No need to wait for commercial breaks to end, Vianca whipped her head around to nod rapidly with a whole bunch of squeaks. Yes! That! Exactly! You were very good at this, Magolor!!
She was stuck!!!
no subject
"Wow, that sucks!"
His pleased tone perhaps does not make these words sound sympathetic, but he doesn't say it unkindly either.
"Has this ever happened before? Nod or shake, you know the deal."
no subject
It did in fact suck, as the cool kids said.
And it hadn't happened before! Which super sucked! She shook her head with a withering sound.
no subject
At least he sobers a little bit at that. It's more something to think about for him than anything deeply concerning; concern is a thing Magolor has to take a little extra effort to dredge up out of the depths of his heart. It'll all work out fine, he's sure. But that doesn't mean it isn't an issue now.
"Then it probably has something to do with this planet. We might have to approach the natives about it if it doesn't clear itself up, hmm?"
no subject
It having something to do with this particular planet hadn't been something she'd considered. She stared at him for a moment as she thought about this, lifting her hand up to where her mouth would have been to hold her face. This... would make sense, since this place seemed to have such a particular set of rules. Final Destination's rules were
all items set to on, frequency highthat rules were flexible. So, if she were to think about Havenwell's rules specifically...
With a sudden hum that was very suspiciously like an 'aha!', Vianca held her hands up to point at him. Then at her. And then- get ready for it- she gave herself a little hugging motion.
Yes? No? Maybe?
no subject
"Now that's forward thinking! It's worth a try. Harsh if they're picking on you in particular, though. All right, here we go—"
Magolor gently pulls her against his body and folds his hands over her back in a nice warm hug. Awwwww. It really does seem unfair if she gets special consequences for not enough touch, but the world isn't a fair place, is it? Not even this one, for all its cutesy touchy feely goodness.
no subject
Vianca was secretly glad this went over so well. Actually asking for a hug was kind of... Well. It was a lot! She'd gotten hugs before, but not from her own prompting. And usually not as a pikmin! So this one was much More, reminding her a little bit of the hugs she'd get from Ai.
That feeling made it a little easier to burrow her itty bitty face against him, making a soft thankful sound. Who knew how much of a hug she was going to need, assuming this worked, so might as well go for the gold with it.
... and it was nice. So there was that. After a few cozy moments of this, Vianca squeaked again. She was ready! To give it a try!
no subject
Here he'd been just kind of expecting this place to suddenly change her back in his arms, so when she squeaks at him, he doesn't immediately know why. But he does let her go, holding her away from his body again and giving her a curious look.
"Yes? No? Feeling anything happening in that little sprout of yours?"
no subject
It still felt weird, actually having to think about changing. It really put into perspective how much she had kinda just taken it for granted before. Were these the perils of growing up? Hm.
But she did it! She gave it a lot of thought, reaching out towards the other shape she had lost. It took a moment, but maybe--
no subject
"Thank you," she murmured softly after a moment, "I had been trying all day."
no subject
"No need to thank me! It's just my boundless generosity. And I've got to hand it to you, that was a smart move! It really is uncanny just how much can be taken care of on this planet with a nice big hug."
Uncanny and beginning to border on annoying, the more it comes up, but at least it's easy.
no subject
"It makes sense when you think about the rules," Vianca said. "They'd want to enforce them as much as they can, I'm sure. I... spent a long time in the library..."
A Long Time.
no subject
That adorable tiny pink fairy body! Who can resist it? Definitely cuter than any human.
no subject
"Um. Thank you. But I think you will be okay. Pikmin aren't supposed to have people shapes, so it makes sense that I should work for it."
no subject
Her species, of course. He commits it to memory. It's no surprise he's never heard of such a thing, any more than she's heard of Halcandra or Doomers. The universe is a vast place! There's more than one of them, even! But he nods; Magolor Will Remember That.
"So why? To make things easier on yourself? Just for the mouth? I guess being that small would be a pain. I have enough trouble as it is."
And he's like ten times her size or something, yikes.
no subject
That part was very important.
"If a pikmin is by themselves that... is essentially all they are. We are only strong in numbers. I may still be frail this way, but I can verify that I can take a few hits, usually."
no subject
She's not any more frail than Adeleine, who can take a few hits herself—and as such, Magolor doesn't see much reason to be concerned about a tiny human girl having been through whatever made Vianca so certain about that. Human protectiveness of their children is pretty foreign to him. But even by his standards, her being able to "verify" it "usually" implies some . . . backstory? Golly.
"And I doubt anyone would chomp on you here! You're plenty cute this way, though, so stick with it! I'll hug you aaaaanytime you need!"
no subject
"Thank you. Now that I know this can happen, I will be more mindful of how I am handling touch. I don't think any other offworlders would eat me right now, but it is better not to take chances."
She didn't think any of the temple animals would either, but. Who knew.
