Don't Worry, Be Happy??
♥ Who: Ardbert, Gaius, Emet-Selch, Era, Estinien, and potentially others (so, mostly closed except CR?)
♥ Where: Their two houses
♥ When: A span of time after the untempering plot from last week. Various scenes.
♥ What: Dealing with the aftermath
♥ Rating: PG-13 because I'm sure someone will have a filthy mouth.
The days after they succeed feel strange, like a moment stuck in time. But they succeeded, and there are days after. It's a start.

He does notice, too, the way the dark aether with Estinien roils a bit as he crosses the barrier for all that he says nothing about it. Partially because he's exhausted - and looks it, for all that he might be awake - but partly because he can't imagine Estinien won't be aware of it.
(As for the room itself, it's largely similar to the rest of the house as far as the decor goes, though Estinien might recognize some of the colors and patterns common in Garlean interior design present as well... plus one wholly incongruous coffee table with a crystal-and-bronze aesthetic.]
Yes, because I have the energy to spare on fretting.
[Should the conversation linger over-long he might seek to escape into a nap, but that's still hardly fretting.]
You came here for a reason, did you not?

You certainly have it to spare on sarcasm.
[Your prerogative, he'd just shrug and send Gaius in later.]
Only to see whether you require anything. Be a pity if you dropped after all that effort.

[It is perhaps not a good habit, but he's never claimed it to be. Instead, it is merely... a comfort. Something that can at least serve to offer some small familiarity.]
As to your... concerns, what I require most is time.
[And perhaps a familiar face besides, but that's hardly something he's about to admit to.]

[He does get it--truly--something so traumatic is not recovered from in a day, a week--but he doesn't know how to voice it and is sure the thought won't be appreciated beside.]
Mm. Should there be aught else I'm sure you won't be afraid to let it be known.

You assume correctly. And if you do not hear directly, I am sure there are those who would be glad to relay such things as are immediately relevant.
[What and how much might be part of that is something Emet doesn't offer. Bad enough that he is being dragged into conversations he would rather not have. To have to consider what Estinien find of particular importance is quite simply more than he wishes to bother with.]

[With that, he turns to leave--it's clear that solitude is all the man wants right now, and that is easy enough to provide.]
