▶ THE VENUE ◀ Welcome to Insomnia 2.0! While renovations are still ongoing and things are likely to change and improve over the next several weeks, the bar is now open for business on this very auspicious day. The bar is being opened in conjunction with one of it's owners birthdays; Tony Stark. So for that reason, the bar will be free for the duration of the party! So please come, enjoy and have a fantastic time! What you will see when you arrive at the bar will be twinkling lights. All signs of construction have been cleared away. Outside there are three long tables and chairs, two of which will be covered by a white table cloth and a variety of food and drink. Fairy lights hang from the walls and roof, scattered about like little stars. As the sun goes down more lights will brighten the area giving the outside of the bar an almost magical feel. Inside the bar it has also been cleaned up. There are more lights, hanging and lining the walls, but there is also music and a space lined up for dancing, should anyone wish to enjoy Tony's Earth music. Most tables and chairs have been moved outside, but the rest have been moved toward the walls to give more secluded, private areas while leaving the main room free for people to mingle and dance. While the décor is simple. It is elegant and as the night creeps in the magical feel will only grow. ♫ THE MUSIC ♫ There WILL be karaoke! ▶ THE FOOD ◀ There are two tables set up containing food, these tables are covered with a table cloth and outside. Gladio would like to thank Lup and her team for helping with some of the catering. As well as Ignis, Mina, Ann and Pyra for help with other cooking and the making of the cakes! Finger foods: • Various kinds of sandwiches • Affurgato's signature quiches. • Salad bowls. • Meat and fish skewers with vegetables with interesting and tasty sauces. Desserts: • Various flavours of fruit tart. • Assorted flavours of cookies. (Including white-chocolate macadamia) • Nyalasadas • Croquembouche. • Three Birthday Cakes! Strawberry, Chocolate and Coffee. Drinks: • With thanks to Affurgato: Red, white and rose wine will be available. • There will be ales, cocktails and champagne on offer. • As well as fruit sodas. • The bar will be open so all ale will be free for this night. ▶ DRESS CODE ◀ The dress code for the party is: Fancy. Suit and tie and party dresses are a must. Why? Because when else do you get a chance to dress up and have a good time? If the girls want to wear suits and the guys want to wear dresses, that is within the rules! Colours don't matter. The idea here is to have a good time and to enjoy yourself! ▶ O.O.C ◀ There are going to be a few prompts below should you be interested to join those, but feel free to make your own top levels and enjoy the shenanigans! |

Kyoko had in fact been around a great many drunken men in high spirits before--being a waitress had that effect--and it wasn't something that bothered her. She knew how to deal with it pretty well, she thought! But, uh, goodness! Hugs weren't a part of the usual routine, in her experience!
Standing very still in his arms, Kyoko paused for a long moment, before giving a tiny, uncertain pat to his back. ]
Um... that's... certainly a relief, Mr. Stark.
[ Was--was that enough? Was the need to hug out of his system yet?? ]
across the way, not actually part of this thread
Totally not seeing this! lalala did someone hear a weird bark sound? Not Tony!
Tony drew back and from her with a bright grin. His hand stayed on her shoulder an extra couple seconds, but that eventually dropped too.]
Really? Why wouldn't you think I'd like it? Are you doing that thing where you worry about stuff again? Oh! I know just how to fix that! What do you like?
[Was there supposed to be context to that last question? Hopefully not, since he doesn't seem to be providing any as he waits eager for an answer.]
no dogs allowed in here!
Blinking a couple times at all these question, Kyoko only missed a single beat before she fluttered a hand in protest. ]
Ah, it's just that I only have humble hand-made things to offer! But I'm really happy that someone who wears designer suits likes something I made. Please don't worry, there's nothing to fix!
[ Which is good, because what she likes is surely irrelevant here? What are you talking about, sir?? ]

[Tony trailed off as what Kyoko said slowly sank in. He stared at her, shocked, for a couple seconds before looking back at the tie. He hadn't realized just how special the gift had been. He now felt bad about that but also really surprised.
Dammit! He had another freakin' kid, didn't he?]
You made this?
[Wow, she was really calling him out. First with the tie and then with the designer suits and there were always three in a list so one more thing. He's been drinking, back off!]
I might not have always appreciated something like this but sometimes fools can get their shit together. This.. this is really thoughtful. Thank you.

She genuinely hadn't thought he'd see that as anything special! Because it wasn't particularly special! It was just cheaper to make it herself than buy it, especially if she wanted some custom embroidery. But she absolutely cannot come out and just say that, not when they've stumbled into a Moment. ]
Um--! [ Both her hands were up now. ] It's--not like I wove the fabric or anything, it really is a simple gift! Honest! You're a nice man, and I'm glad I could give you something!
[ Oh god, now she wishes she'd made something more complicated. ]
no subject
For godsakes, if I have to keep hearing you tell me what a nice man I am, you have to take the fact I like your gift and I think it's special. No arguing! It's my party and I get to tell you we're friends! Deal with it!
Now, what flavor drink can I make you?
[Nailed it.]
no subject
Flustered and defeated, all Kyoko can do is stammer weakly. ]
R-raspberry... sounds delicious.
no subject
[Pause.]
Wait.. how old are you again? Are we doing a mocktail or.. never mind, I'll figure it out.
[He was gone only for a few minutes before returning with a raspberry daiquiris sans alcohol, of course, and an apricot colored martini for himself. (Thanks bartender!)]
Here we are. Now, what do you think of the party?
[He was taking a guess that she didn't want to continue their original conversation.]
no subject
[ She started, but oh, there he went. Bye Mr. Stark, you'll never know her age now?
And then hello Mr. Stark with drinks in hand. Still a bit dumbfounded by how all of this has played out, Kyoko accepts the one he gives her and takes a cautious sip--and it's quite good actually! Not even a tiny hit of that alcoholic sting--she actually has tasted it a couple times, and is pretty well-acquainted with the smell, so she knows. Relaxing, she gives a sheepish little grin. ]
--Thank you! Everything is really nice. It was Mr. Gladio who planned it all out, right?
no subject
He did. He had some help though from Ann, Pyra, and Aerith. Familiar with those three?
Anyway, this is..
[His face had brightened immediately as Gladio's name was mentioned but as he glanced around, it was noticeable when his gaze fell on the large man- warm, soft, and proud. There was no hiding any of that emotion either, not that he was trying.
It took a second before he remembered what they were talking about.]
Uh, yes, this is a 'fancy party' with a Gladio twist.
[With a little effort his eyes peel off of his partner and back to Kyoko. He chuckled.]
I suggested fireworks and a chocolate fountain, but they were going to tar and feather me if I came in the room again.
no subject
Not that Kyoko was going to pester him about it. It wasn't like this was news, right? Seeing him get all soft was just kinda cute. She met his chuckle with a light little giggle of her own. ]
A chocolate fountain would be a pain to clean up, so you can't fault him for not going for it. But it's plenty lively without all that anyway, isn't it?
no subject
That's what the wizard is for.
[He pointed with his thumb over to the party's caterer, Lup.]
But we'll forgive him this once.
[He chuckled. He smiled as he glanced around the room. Lively was a good word for it, though if he was doing a comparison it was nothing close to the wild, extravagant parties he once attended regularly.
Whoever would've thought, he'd prefer something like this where every direction he could see friend or a friendly acquaintance's face. Or... Kaiba's. Well, whatever. Even when you look at a cute cat, the thing still shoved it's sphincter in your face.]
Enough about me though, what kind of parties are you used to? Did you have any school dances or events you attended?
no subject
And really, Kyoko was sure this was pretty small and tame for someone like Tony. Not that she actually knew what his habits had been at home, but she could guess--rich guys, you know? Certainly, she doubted her own limited experiences could be that interesting to him. It was nice that he asked, though. ]
Hm? School... dances? [ She blinked a couple times, but then-- ]Oh, like in American movies--Um, Japanese schools don't really have that kind of event, for the most part, I think. [ And it's unlikely she would have attended them anyway. ] But I've been to wrap parties, and I've worked at some parties too. I even organized a pretty big one with a friend of mine, once--it wasn't quite like this, but it was fun!
