Those who Lup deigned to grace with an invitation will receive one at random: that at the recipient's convenience if they so desire, they are invited to join her in what she is calling (without explanation) a Pocket Dimension Party. As per the instructions, any time within the next 24 hours, they can enter through the garden back door and "find the cat".

Should one accept the invitation and follow those instructions, they can find Ditto curled up in the grass beside the house, dozing, though at the arrival of any visitor he perks up and stretches. Rubbing up against their legs, Ditto will head over to a section of the wall and paw at a corner, until a door abruptly glimmers into existence and opens for him. He meows plaintively and waits. Go on in! Just close the door behind you.

Inside the doorway, visitors will find… a mansion. Elaborately decorated, warm, and inviting, it is like entering a rich and immaculate house that someone's taken a lot of time and TLC to make perfect. No one greets them as they enter, but if they call for attention and no one is in the immediate vicinity, a semi-transparent spectral servant will arrive and guide them to Lup. Otherwise, they are free to explore the house and make use of the facilities as they please.

The following areas are available:

An extravagant entrance hall with soft wood paneling and fancy art on the walls
A lounge area with big fluffy couches, pillows, and blankets, as well as a projection screen that works with communicators and whatever digital media Lup is familiar with, or a music mix in lieu of said media being played
A full-service kitchen and dining area, where a collection of spectral servants (features to be determined) will upon request cook any meal a person desires, assuming they (and by association Lup) are familiar with the recipe and ingredients. It's all delicious, too!
A sizable basement with regenerating training dummies, various targets, and more servants who will act as moving targets on request. They can't be hurt, but they can move around freely.
A big and beautiful spa with all the soaps and pampering material that anyone could ask for
A "pet room", AKA a room devoted to toys, climbing shelves, cat trees- whatever an animal might want to stay entertained for hours unsupervised

More details to be added as needed! This is a mingle free-for-all, there is no set schedule. Visitors can come and go as they please for 24 hours, and at the end of the spell anyone still inside will be summarily booted out into the garden.

... I am glad you are able to keep such things close. Though I imagine it must be a lot on you as well.

Sylleblossoms... were any of them in your gardens? I admit, I am not very familiar with flora.

There are quite a fair few of them growing now, fortunately. Back then they grew in blue, red, and white; I'm told in more modern times the blue ones are the only common variety.

[He paused in brushing her hair long enough to reach over and produce a red flower from thin air into his hand in a few sparks of crystal.]

This world has been rather surprising with what it brings to it.

[ And there's the flower. She looks at it; recognizing that she has seen it before, perhaps in another color, though never knew the name of it or any significance it may have held at the time. Still, there's a closer recollection that comes to mind. ]

It's quite lovely. Correct me if I am wrong, of course, but... did you provide one of these to Lup recently? I feel as though I must have caught sight of it in her hair, at that party.

I did, actually. I thought it might have suited her outfit, and she seemed to enjoy it a great deal.

What a thoughtful gesture. It seemed to suit her very well, so I have no doubt that she was pleased with the result.

It was quite the nice sight on her, I was glad she didn't dislike it.

[Ardyn gave a thoughtful hum, lightly running a hand through Honerva's hair before starting to tie it into a loose braid.]

...Tell me, do you prefer red or blue?

... Hm?

[ A pause, and she laughs softly at the implication becoming clearer. ]

Well, I think I would prefer to be surprised. Both colors have their own associations for me... I'm far more interested to learn someone else's.

A surprise it is, then. [He'd have to think about it, in that case.]

I was ever partial to red and white as far as colors went. My little brother far preferred blue and black, which I suspect has a hand in why the others tend towards the latter color.

It can be strange to realize how colors and association can resonate so strongly, rippling through lifetimes. I had noticed that they tend to favor those colors...

[ Still, now, it has her think, of the sorts of considerations she had been going out of her way to avoid. ]

... to be honest, for myself, both colors remind me of different planets that existed long ago. Much has changed since then, and it has taken much more to even recognize that.

Tradition, I think. It seems as if Somnus' aesthetic choices were carried forth in the kingdom he founded.

[...That statement carried a distinctly wistful note to it, though about what part specifically was left unclear.]

As you say, it's...strange. How such minor things can call forth a myriad of associations for good or ill.

... Indeed.

Some associations are... heavier than others. I know it has now become habit for me to avoid wearing certain colors for the discomfort it brings, irrational though that may be. I admit, I find myself surprised that this world has not yet confronted me with it here.

[ Instead, she had gotten that other dress, which was... well. Ardyn knew how she felt about that. In the end, it was better than what else she might have found herself in, despite the lingering feelings of inadequacy. ]

Oh, I don’t think it irrational at all. Personally, I doubt I could ever bring myself to wear an abundance of black like the others—I wouldn’t feel quite myself at all.

[It briefly occurred to him that black seemed to be most of what his future self wore, but that uncomfortable thought was safer left unexplored. Instead he made a quietly thoughtful hum before starting to weave long red petals into Honerva’s hair as he continued.]

Rationality rarely factors into such things on the surface, but the reasoning beneath is whatever it may be. Certainly nothing to be ashamed of, I think.

I tend to avoid wearing black myself, as well as purple.

[ She smiles a little wryly at that, knowing she could not wholly escape certain reminders or associations. Still from her other conversations with Ardyn, it felt almost easier to speak of things like this, knowing he'd understand. She could stand to be more clarifying, when he had been nothing but open about his troubles. ]

... The person that I was while I wore those colors is not who I am now, though it had been a long time. Unfortunately, I cannot fully escape them when they so often linger in my magic.

...Likewise, unfortunately. My own magic is in shades of red, but such darker colors are what’s to be expected with everything else.

But then I am compelled to ask: what colors do you like?

[ She laughs, a quick, but soft breathless sound. ]

... Truly? I know not. It is far easier to separate what I would rather avoid, if only because it... was a long time to be surrounded by such things. Even when I was ready to make that change, Taako had to all but drag me into it. It is nice to have... a variety available.

Hm...you know, it might be something to contemplate if you felt it worth effort, in the future. If something as simple as a color might carry less than favorable associations, I suspect it stands to reason it can do the reverse as well.

...There certainly is no shortage of options here. It's far more vibrant than any location I've seen in a long time.

I do find that it is difficult to settle on something that feels... right, if that makes sense. Being able to trust in any associations that I may make now, instead of what had come before. Having a variety to choose from is... appealing, even if it can be overwhelming at times.

[ Particularly at first, when Taako first began dragging her about to inject color into her life back then. Teal tends to show up in her clothing choices here more often than not, as much as she's not certain if that is because she likes it or because it's one of the few ways she calls back to her own roots, as much as the glamour dress she had been given had startled her due to the styling.

Sad, how even the simple things could become so unnecessarily complex. ]

Well, I should think there no hurry to settle on any option, should you choose to settle upon one at all.

...Much of this place is overwhelming to me. From its environment to its people and all else in between. Oftentimes I find it a difficult thing to bear, and yet others...sometimes I feel it almost reassuring in its moderate chaos. I suppose such things should vary.

The chaos provides reassurance that all is not left to stagnation, even if traversing this world is limited. It serves to keep us on our toes, even should a situation become... distressing.

[ Which, no matter how much experience one had, there was always that opportunity. ]

And perhaps makes one appreciate what is around them more, once all settles.

I think much the same myself. It's never boring, I can say that with certainty.

There is far too much life around for it to ever be boring. Although I know it has been more difficult for those less inclined to sit still to figure out what's best to do with themselves when... not tasked to battles.

I can understand what it must be like for one's primary skill and purpose to be of little use. Harder still to seek a new one, as well.

[ She knows that all too well, which is why she relates. ]

Being able to recognize the freedom of opportunity outside of a bound path is an entire task on its own. Even if it is just to have something like this.

Now that is something I can safely call 'easier said than done', indeed.

[He laughed to himself, finishing the braid with a hair tie to match the red sylleblossom petals carefully woven throughout.]

Much is easier said. But sometimes... it needs to be said. To acknowledge that commonality between struggles.

[ She looks to her hair as he speaks, laughing softly as well, catching sight of the color he's chosen... red on white. She smiles to see that. ]
