[Open] Intro/July-catch all
♥ Who: Satoru and anyone!
♥ Where: Various places in Havenwell
♥ When: Early July
♥ What: Intro log! Prompts were referenced from here.
♥ Rating: PG-13 just to be safe. Will update as needed.
[ 1 - Arrival/Buddy System ]
[ When Satoru first wakes up, he first thought this was inside the box he got sealed up in. He quickly realizes that's not the case when the situation is explained during the orientation. Great. Satoru didn't exactly like what he's hearing.
He also knew well enough that whining and complaining wouldn't get him anywhere, so as soon as the orientation is over he tries to go on his own sightseeing to get acclimated with the city using his powers... only to realize that he can't even use Infinity. That got him a little more annoyed than usual because that meant he basically had no other means of self-defense aside from physical combat if things got dangerous.
At least the robots seem friendly enough that even after the orientation is over, they offered a guide to show the town around. How convenient.
Satoru's mood lightens up a little as he greets whoever gets paired with him with a smile and a wave. How unfortunate... ]
Hey there! So you're going to show around the place?
[ 2 - Just like Glue ]
[ Even after the little tour he gets with the Buddy System, Satoru's off on his own to wander around some more. As far as he can tell with his Six Eyes (which isn't much at this point), there were no Curses here, so that basically meant he had nothing else to do other than wander around.
This walk, as opposed to earlier, is more of trying to get accustomed to the limit that's been set on his powers. The natives weren't exactly helpful so Satoru searches for anyone else. When he notices you, he'll approach with a smile and a wave. ]
Yo! Mind helping me out with something? I just want you to try and touch my hand. It's an experiment!
[ If it doesn't work then he'd still get some hand-holding action, it's like killing two birds with one stone!
Unfortunately, what he doesn't know at first is that he's under that newcomer spell of being sticky... ]
[ 3 - Weather craziness ]
[ Even with his magic eyes, he's not able to predict the hiccups in the weather control... at first. The pouring rain that would show up randomly throughout the month (it's July!!) would eventually irritate Satoru enough that he's actually a little grumpy if you run into him in the streets. Grumpy and wet, as well as his blindfold taken off because soggy cloth against his face is gross.
His grumpy frown will change to a smile as soon as he notices you because an idea comes to mind. By this time, he's realized how to activate his powers. ]
Hey, mind if I borrow you for a sec? I just need to get home real quick and it'd be super helpful if you stick around!
[ 4 - Anything else! ]
[ Let me know via PM or at
karasalis! I also got a TDM thread if anyone wants to continue or whatnot! ]

[ --And, of course, she'll reach and take that hand of his. She'll even bring up her other hand to clasp over his one. A double hold! Even better!
Her head inclines to the side, her eyes bright with curiosity as she looks at him... the blindfold in particular. ] Mm... can I guess-- help with obtaining dora? [ She keeps her tone light. ]
no subject
Thanks for helping out. And yep, that's part of the reason! Another reason was to double-check how this world is affecting my powers.
[ He probably should explain more about what he's talking about... But at the same time, he's never been great at explaining things when he's not in the mind to explain.
Showing is better than just telling, so Satoru decides he should use one of the more obvious moves, which happens to be levitation, but even after a moment of silence it doesn't activate. His Six Eyes are telling him his curse energy is clearer while in contact with someone else, though.
He gives a small frown in response. ]
...Hmm, I'm still not sure what I can do and what I can't.
no subject
This world... does seem to effect how much others can do. Or so I've heard.
[ She never gave it much thought, honestly, but she soon resumes smiling. ] Do you powers work in a certain way?
no subject
My powers didn't exactly have a requirement for it to work. Just basic understanding and creative thinking.
[ Since his levitation didn't work, it's easier to explain at least a little bit to give an idea, so he changes his prior decision. ]
I've got powers to change how space works. Repelling, attracting, stopping things. Kind of like adjusting gravity, I suppose. Of course, in my world, you needed a certain requirement to be able to use "magic," but explaining that can get lengthy so I'll cut that out for now.
[ It'd turn into a normal classroom lecture, and if Satoru's away from his homeworld, he'd prefer not to be in teacher mode as much as possible. ]
What I was trying to do was use a combination of my powers and float in the air, but I can't seem to use that. I can still feel the magic energy though, so I know I still have my abilities. This world's been throwing me off ever since I've gotten here, it's been a pain!
[ WHAT A CHATTERBOX. But even while Satoru is mildly complaining about it, he gives a light laugh while waving his free hand around. ]
1/2
You were going to fly....[ She marvels, whispering. ] Incredible...
[ And to be in the air. It must be lovely, flying, falling, floating, feeling the wind whipping through one's hair while soaring through the skies. She misses it, too. ]
no subject
[ She looks up at him, her tone hopeful. If this young man can learn to fly again, that would be-- well, great, she supposes. She's just met him, and she wants this for him. Let this world give him that joy again. ] Is there any way I can help?
no subject
Hmm, I'm actually not sure what I'd need. I can feel that my energy is still here with me, and I haven't forgotten how to apply my skills.
[ It's more or less to avoid him easily getting out of the city by hopping over walls, the levitation part's been disabled, but he doesn't know that yet. ]
But if you're willing to stick around, I can go through every skill I have and see what works! I would need a random item that can be destroyed, though. I'm pretty sure the natives wouldn't like me destroying their street lights or signs.
no subject
She even has a pen, which she brings out of a pocket, that he can destroy. ] Oh...! I volunteer this!
no subject
[ He raises his free hand, palm facing up. ]
Could you drop the pen onto my hand?
[ He needs to double-check if Infinity can be activated before he can do everything else. It's activated, but with how weird this place is, he's not 100% sure that's working until he sees it happen.
If Pyra is to comply and drop the pen onto his palm, it'll stop in midair before it touches his hand, and he'll wait for her reaction because he loves receiving attention. ]
1/3
With a nod, she releases the pen from her grasp, not sure what she should be looking for, and... ]
2/3 oops wrong order
It isn't falling.
Why isn't it falling.
What happened to gravity-- ]
3/3
That she's seen things like this before doesn't make it any less impressive. She gasps, her eyes snapping from the pen to him to the pen to him, widened and in awe. ]
Er-- it's.... floating! This is... your doing?!
no subject
Satoru, on the other hand, is enjoying this refreshing reaction as he grins. ]
It's magic~!
[ He laughs as he finally deactivates Infinity and lets the pen fall into his hand. Normally, he'd end his explanation there, but he shouldn't get into his habits too much. ]
There might be theories of how space continues forever, at least in my world and time. My powers bring that into reality, and I can place an "infinite" amount of space between me and whatever object I want.
Basically, the pen looked like it stopped but it just slowed down a lot. Nifty, isn't it?
no subject
Very impressed.
She appears downright ecstatic at him describing the nature of this ability. ] Infinite space... right there-- right there in the palm of your hand.
If you use that same power to fly, that seems, oh, [ A little extra. ] going about it in such a complex way. Yet you did that, and you made it look so easy! Have you always had this power?
no subject
Mmhmm. I'm part of a massive family tree that uses these skills. I'm just better than most of them because I'm special!
[ He's technically telling the truth... His eyes are what lets him be that extra with his ability, after all, but he's not that special. Yuuji is probably a more fitting example of being special.
Speaking of abilities! Satoru wonders what else he can do. The girl doesn't seem to mind holding hands still, so he's going to keep trying things out while he's got a buddy. He plays around with the pen for a moment before pausing, looking down at it for a good ten seconds.
What he's trying to do is to compress it, but it's also not working. He needs a little more contact time, but he hasn't quite figured out how long yet. ]
I guess not that special anymore since there's a little too many things I can't do at the moment. Ah well, at least I know at least the basic stuff is still there.
1/2
She looks back up at him. ]
no subject
[ She takes a half-step towards him, bringing her other hand up to cup the both of their together. ] That's alright. If it's... comforting at all, you're not the only one to have some powers, um, limited in this world. [ She smiles at him in a way she hopes is reassuring, despite this statement. No one likes to be told they're somehow shackled. ] But maybe you'll just be able to overcome that threshold.
There's more phenomena to be discovered and accomplished... with others instead of alone. [ Hence, holding hands. ]
no subject
[ He is still a teeny bit annoyed that the gods in this world were powerful enough to nerf people down and not explain what they exactly did. If he were younger he'd have thrown a more obvious and angrier fit, but he's going to settle with some minor complaints.
He returns the smile, tilting his head slightly. ]
Thanks for the reassurance, though. Much appreciated!
no subject
[ What kind of world does he live in, where (apparent) humans can manipulate such things like space? What made his world to allow that, and how-- knowing how fickle humans can be with ordinary power-- does it still exist?
Oh, but she corrects herself: there are probably other humans who operate on the side of protecting their world with such amazing powers. Or so her imagination likes to believe. ] Um, might I ask... Does your world have a name?
no subject
[ Okay, that's a little too lousy of an explanation, really. He pauses, humming under his breath as he cups his chin with his available hand while they're still holding hands before deciding there's no point in leaving information out. ]
I'm not sure how different my world is with others, but in my world, almost everyone's got this thing called Curse energy. It's tied to negative emotions, and people can easily create curses by having them. Have you heard of people getting cursed and haunted by ghosts? It's similar to that.
The only thing is that not everyone can control that energy. I'm one of the few that can, and I'm considered "The Strongest" in the line of business.
no subject
A troubling thought occurs to her-- ] ...How... fearsome.
[ From hunger. From death. From despondency, from strife. From sorrow, from loss, from mourning another. A world in which negative emotions cause even more pain-- would mean that one has little right to feel them freely.
That sounds unbelievably cruel, like a penalty when one's already kicked down, bleeding open. ]
I'm glad that you can control such... curses. Having them unchecked seems like it would only make a vicious cycle. [ Until all is consumed. ]
no subject
[ Satoru gives a light shrug with his shoulders, and he remembers then that they're still holding hands. ]
I think I'm done trying to experiment with my powers until I figure out exactly what they blocked off. Do you think if I bug the priests enough, they'd let me know?
[ As he talks, he goes to release the hold but the glue effect is in place. ] ...?
no subject
Oh...
[ --she attempts to release her hand herself, to no avail.
She lifts her head. ] Um, don't worry; this will pass. Although, it's worth mentioning that when something like this happens, no one's abilities can supersede it. [ As incredible as his are. ]
It's best to wait. As for the asking the priests, I think it's worth trying even if they might be forthcoming.
no subject
Hmm, I suppose if this world needs us to make contact with each other, this sort of stuff would happen. Ah well, I'll go along with this.
[ He'll just need to be a wee bit more careful next time. Regardless, if they're going to be stuck with each other for a while longer, he'll revert his attention back to Pyra remembering her expression earlier and gives Pyra a smile. ]
Since we'll be holding hands for a little longer, maybe we can learn about each other some more!
[ Which reminds him, he's never introduced himself, nor has he learned of this lady's name. ] I'm Satoru Gojo, by the say, nice to meet you.
no subject
My name is Pyra...
[ She glances down at their held hands, and then gives his a firm shake. Looking up with a warmer smile than before, she gives his a little tug. ]
You know, someone did theorize that maybe our abilities... or what power we might have, even though we may not be connected to our worlds, is generated by this. [ Hand-holding!
Not that there's really a way to tell, but it's a cute theory. ]
