[ 1 - Re-awakening, at Diacht's temple ]

[ Zenitsu had fallen into a coma for the past week. He himself wasn't aware of it, as he fell asleep as usual the night before. Then the priests came and took him back to the temple. The week went by with him sleeping like the dead, and if anyone were to visit him towards the end of the week, they may have seen some mysterious cracks appearing on his skin. The cracks are gone by the time you see him awake, though.

Zenitsu himself definitely wasn't having a good time. He's pulled back home, where the demon slayers are faced with another big battle again. When he wakes back up in Havenwell, he's extremely groggy, barely alive, with some struggle to figure out what month it is, not to mention he's in tears and wary. ]

What month is it??? Are my friends still here?! That was scary to wake up to!! Hello???

[ Who missed his noisy whining? ]

[ 2 - Around town, a little awkward ]

[ After he's recovered at the temple enough, he would make his way out of the temple and wander around in the city. He's tired, even though he's just woken up, and he would prefer to spend time in a quiet place. He's gotten used to all the sounds here at this point, it wasn't as dreadful as the ones he was hearing back in his home world, at least for the moment.

He's not whining, but his overall demeanor would be restless although he's trying his hardest to hide it after waking up.

If he's not paying attention, you may also see him scratching at his cheeks, as if something is supposed to be there. When he notices you, he'll immediately pull his hand away from his face to give a wave, if he knows you already. ]

Uhm... Hi?

[ Zenitsu goes quiet as he hears Sasuke's words. He knows Sasuke's got a point. It's the most logical and reasonable. Zenitsu is definitely the first one to break the eye contact, lowering his gaze for a moment as he continues to quietly listen to what the ninja has to say. At the same time, he feels his own frustration that he felt in his memories return.

He furrows his brows before looking back up at the other. ]

Finding out what happens from my point of view, and then what? There's nothing he could've done, no matter how kind he is. Everyone's plates were full, and it was something I alone needed to do.

[ He pauses for a moment, taking a breath. ]

...And whatever I got to learn in this world didn't carry over when I was asleep. Things just happened like I was never here.

You don't know that, and you don't know that's what may happen to him. If everyone's plates are full, then you see what you can empty here and use this time to get stronger.

[ Even if it was something that Zenitsu alone needed to do, there were events that lead up to it. Zenitsu wants Tanjiro to concentrate on his goals instead of coming back. Telling him can only help. ]

The ones who go into battle knowing the enemy and the land have the advantage.

[ Knowing the land to have advantage... That was close to impossible when the demons ambushed them with their demon blood arts. The infinity fortress's layout was barely able to be memorized with how complex it was.

In addition to that, Zenitsu barely could keep his cool with how angry he was at Kaigaku at the time, he hardly spoke to Tanjiro after receiving the letter. Soon after that, the demons struck and they were thrown into a multi-dimensional fortress. Even if Zenitsu let Tanjiro know what had happened in the new memories he gained, there's nothing Tanjiro can do even with the knowledge. ]

I don't even know where he was at the time, how could my memories be of any help to better prepare?

What the heck do I even tell him? "Hey, so the past week I've been sleeping, I've fought a demon and almost died because we got ambushed"?? What good's that going to do? We all know demons are going to try to attack us sooner or later.

[ This is where he realizes he's letting his frustration do the talking, and stops there to take another breath. ]

...If I start talking, he's going to want more details from me, and I don't want to tell him everything.

[ Like killing whom he saw as the older brother he's never had the chance to actually have. ]

[ Sasuke has the feeling that the metaphor and example he tried to give just went over Zenitsu's head. Just because he doesn't see how the information could be of use, that doesn't mean someone else can't.

And not wanting to tell Tanjiro everything? Sasuke has many secrets; he understands that. However, Zenitsu not wanting to tell him everything doesn't excuse him from telling him nothing. ]

You're still thinking too narrow, and you'll miss what really matters.

[ He tries a different tactic, one that won't be quite as harsh as the final trick Sasuke has up his sleeve. ~~If he had sleeves.~~ He may have a soft spot for kids, but this treads uncomfortably to behaviors that will just get people killed. And when he needs to be, Sasuke can harsh. Ninja do the jobs samurai can't. He's lost himself to darkness. The devil already has his soul. He's bloodstained monkey living in a human village. ]

Why do you fight? Think carefully on this.

[ If he were still back in his home world, his answer would have been 'because it needs to be done.' Muzan was right there, in front of them, and there was no other chance. But now that he's out of the tense atmosphere after waking back up in Havenwell, he's not so sure.

He goes quiet, averting the gaze from the other. His reason weren't as great as others who were demon slayers. Tanjiro himself had the goal of turning his sister back to human. Most of the others all wanted to defeat the demons to avenge their loved ones. His was to repay his teacher for getting him out of debt, but that's not exactly possible anymore.

He wasn't great at talking about his own thoughts like this, either, so he goes quiet for a while. ]

...Anything coming from me is narrow-minded anyways. My own plate was so full I never had the mind to tell Tanjiro while at home either.

[ Sasuke waits patiently as Zenitsu thinks. He did stress that he wanted him to think, and once Zenitsu does speak, Sasuke waits a moment longer. People have different reasons to fight, and even the practical ones have some merit to them.

The answer is too vague, but telling Sasuke everything isn't his goal. It's telling Tanjiro. ]

Then try doing so now. He's going to find out one way or the other, and it'll be better coming from you. Let him decide what he can use or not.

[ Zenitsu can understand what Sasuke's saying. If this were back in his home world, there is no need for him to talk to Tanjiro about all this. But because they're in this strange world that excuse is invalidated, especially with this conversation. ]

...I'll try.

[ He can't guarantee it. It's the best answer he can give out at the moment. ]

See to it that you do because if you don't, I might tell him myself.

[ And there's the trick Sasuke has up his sleeves. He's not above a little bit of blackmail and threats. Sasuke doesn't have to know the whole story, just that there is a story. The rest can be handled by Tanjiro himself. Either Zenitsu talks to Tanjiro or Sasuke tells Tanjiro that he needs to talk to Zenitsu because something major happened. Something major Tanjiro is hiding from him.

Sasuke hopes that'll be motivation enough for Zenitsu to take the steps he needs to take as a warrior and a friend. Maybe they can work together to change what happened. It's worth a try. ]

[ When he hears what Sasuke says next, all the tension he's been feeling up to this point breaks off as his shoulders slouch as he looks over at Sasuke with disbelief. ]

Wait, what?

[ If that was going to be mentioned, it definitely would have made things so much easier for him! ]

[ ...But no, that's just running away again for Zenitsu. And he's done enough of that, that it really did become too late to be able to show Gramps how far he's gotten. ]

...Don't worry. I'll talk to him about it. Just give me some time.

I'll give you time, but I mean it. You should tell him. It'll be better coming from you.

[ Zenitsu is going though a lot, stuff that Tanjiro isn't aware of yet in two perspectives. Sasuke can't let this stupid kid make a mistake that may haunt him later. If there is a chance they can change whatever happened, they should take it. ]

[ It's less of it haunting him for later, at least in Zenitsu's eyes. All of his friends are strong, both physically and mentally. He knows well enough that even if his friend gets caught in the coma down the road, he should be able to handle what happens just fine.

To the spoken words, though, he comments back, ]

...Because I'm his friend?

Exactly.

[ Sasuke could elaborate more, but he's said enough. Zenitsu at least understands this. ]
