Come together, right now

♥ Who: Sougo & OTA!
♥ Where: Around & about
♥ When: May 7th & a few days after
♥ What: Sougo being introduced to this Strange New World and the existential crises that come bundled with that. Used one of the suggested prompts (Just Like Glue).
♥ Rating: G? Maybe into PG for language? Not from Sougo, but I expect Tamaki could drop some words.

1) Waking Up

[There were a lot of things stressful about Sougo's day so far. Firstly, he has found himself in a bed in a room that he is completely unfamiliar with. Second, there are robots... robot people? that are trying to explain something to him that isn't fully making it through to him right away. And finally, he was supposed to have an interview this morning and if he didn't get Tamaki up, they would be late and that was just plain unacceptable!

The first two reasons are a little bit more immediately pressing, though, and as panic grips Sougo he finds himself doing something he wouldn't normally - namely, he has gripped his own smartphone hard and is holding it up like it's a rock he's about to throw.]

S-stay back! I have a weapon and I'm not afraid to use it!!

[His voice is so loud (and a little shrill) that it can be heard from outside. The local residents could probably use a little help calming a frazzled boy down.]

2) Around

[After the little kerfuffle when he woke up, Sougo has been fully informed of the situation (though he still thinks he's probably dreaming or something) and is wandering around Havenwell to get a feel for the area. He has his tablet out and will stop occasionally to tap through some of the apps on it, trying to figure out where he is, what all this tablet can do, and where he should be going.]

It's pretty simple, like a phone, but some of this just feels so strange...

[You might catch him muttering to himself as he stops dead where he is, obviously trying to scoot off to the side and out of the way, but not succeeding very well.]

3) Stuck Together

[It was just Sougo's luck that as he was starting to feel gently comfortable about finding his way around using the tablet he had been given for guidance he bumped into someone and couldn't seem to move away from them.]

I'm... I'm so sorry, I don't know what's... ah, could you... maybe try to move away as well?

[Sougo's shoulder is the most likely place to have become stuck to, but you can pick where you're stuck on yourself and him if you'd prefer!]

[ It's a little bit weird, but only because Kyoko hasn't felt the need to think about that particular problem at all in Havenwell, and also because there had been no reason to guess this guy was a celebrity? There are plenty of pretty boys scattered throughout the multiverse, no need to assume they're all in show-biz. ]

Huh? [ She's about to just say no, but then she pauses, tipping her head as she thinks about it. ] I wonder... I've never noticed anyone taking pictures, but it's possible the robots don't need to carry around big cameras.... Is it a worry?

[ And then, more intensely: ]

--Are you actually a survivor of the entertainment industry in this place?!

[...well, here's a misunderstanding, ugh! Sougo lets out a breath before smiling softly and shaking his head.]

No, no. I'm from somewhere else. I... think? But... Ah, I really wouldn't put it past some studio to set this up as an elaborate show premise...

[He winces lightly.]

Though maybe this would be taking it a bit far even for them...

[ Kyoko's eyes go very round for a moment. Her free hand goes to rest lightly over her heart. This... is kind of amazing. ]

That's... almost exactly what I thought was happening on my first day here.

[ She feels Seen. ]

I was absolutely sure the president had kidnapped me for a prank.... Could it be... you're also signed with LME...?!

[!!! A fellow Industry person!!! Well, that allays a lot of Sougo's fears. He knows she wouldn't want to be caught in a scandal either then. He seems to relax, though it's more of a "relaxed aura" than a "relaxed body language" thing with him.]

Ah, no, I don't think I've ever heard of that company. I'm with Takanashi Productions, with their idol group IDOLiSH7.

[Though if... things are as they've been told to him, she likely wouldn't have heard of them... So he's not expecting any recognition there.]

[ Well, if he hasn't heard of LME, this person certainly isn't from Kyoko's version of the Japanese entertainment industry, so that rules out a whole bunch of things in one clean sweep. Oh well.

There's no time for even a tiny bit of disappointment, though, because her ears perk at that next bit of information. ]

Idolish... [ sorry she doesn't know about the stylish capitalization choices ] ... seven? [ Is she remembering it right, though? She's only heard the name a few times, but it does ring a bell. ] By any chance, you don't mean... Tamaki-san's Idolish Seven?

[............ ohgod she knows Tamaki?? OH GOOD GOD, does he have to run damage control?? Okay, Sougo, deep breath in, and a smile!]

That's the one! I didn't realize you knew Tamaki-kun, otherwise I might have felt more comfortable right away.

[Okay, that's... actually true, so his smile is definitely looking less strained now.]

My name is Sougo Ousaka. Tamaki-kun is my partner.

I see! Amazing! So you're-- [ oh she probably shouldn't call him sou-chan huh ] --really one of his group! He's showed me pictures before, but I didn't make the connection at all!

[ Since they're a little close together for bowing to be comfortable, she simply presses a hand to her chest and gives him a cheery grin. ]

It's so nice to meet you! My name is Kyoko Mogami--Tamaki-san's really looked after me since I got here!

[Tamaki was showing off pictures...? And has been looking after someone??? Whaaa....??

Sougo nods his head to her by way of a bow himself.]

Well, I'm glad to know he's been there for you, Mogami-san! I know Tamaki-kun can be a handful, though, so I'm sure I owe you some thanks for looking after him as well.

A handful? [ Kyoko pauses, tapping her lip. ] I was kinda worried about how he was eating, but it seems like he's doing a little better since he got more upgrades for his replicator. --Oh, and you know what! He waited until the day-of to tell me about his birthday!

[ What a scoundrel!! That's the kind of thing he means by "handful," right? ]

[...for the love of-- was Tamaki only eating pudding again or something?! Ughhhh....! But that's not really what Sougo meant, and he's about to say so when the comment about Tamaki's birthday smacks him properly across the face.]

...Tamaki-kun's birthday...? How... how long ago was that?

[He's still a little iffy on his figuring out when it is right now, but he's real concerned about the fact that Tamaki had to spend his birthday without... well, without his family!]

[ Oh, was that... not something she should have mentioned? Maybe? Kyoko's not sure why it would be, right off the bat, any more than she's sure she's reading him right. For now she simply blinks, and gives him the answer. ]

Mm... about a month ago, now? Since it was the first day of last month. Ah, but the names of the months are different here, so it's a little confusing.

[Sougo winces. A month ago. A whole month after his birthday without any of his members there to celebrate or even talk with him. That leaves a hollow feeling in the pit of his stomach.]

I... see.

[He looks very much like he's about to reach up with his free hand to touch his face or some other fidget, but he very pointedly forces his arm back down and offers Kyoko a small, somewhat sad smile.]

I'm sorry, I probably sound very strange to you, reacting like this. It's just that I ... Tamaki-kun has been alone so much of his life, I... really didn't want him to have to spend another birthday alone...

[ Kyoko is quiet for a moment or two, frowning softly at Sougo. If she knew him a little better--and if they weren't in a place like this--she might have clasped his hand or patted his arm. Instead, she just tips her head thoughtfully, and speaks up gently. ]

... That's not what he told me, though, you know? When Tamaki-san talks about his past, it never sounds like he's thinking about lonely times. And he didn't spend his birthday alone this year, either. [ That comes out a bit firmer, with a small smile. ] So he wouldn't want you to be upset, I'm sure?

[...oh. What a sweet girl, reassuring him like this. Sougo finds himself smiling at her again, without even thinking about it.]

Ah, he wasn't alone? Thank goodness...

[Sougo lets out a breath in a long sigh.]

I know he wasn't... alone alone before, but... he just seems so lonely when he doesn't have us around...

[ Ah, he looks a little less sad now, what a relief. Kyoko gives him a small smile, a bit rueful. ]

Well, there's no way to deny that he missed you. Anyone could see it. But he's been doing his best on his own all this time, so... this is just my opinion, but I think it's better to be proud of him than feel bad about something you couldn't control. You know?

[She's not only sweet, but smart too. Sougo offers her his most genuine smile yet.]

You're right, of course. I'm always proud of Tamaki-kun. He works so hard and has done so much to better himself.

[Please forgive the fact that he is subconsciously clenching his hands into fists... until he feels the tug from her pinky and very quickly relaxes his hand again, oops. He's just so proud and can't properly explain it.]

[ It's true, it's hard not to notice all that proud fist-clenching when she can feel it. Kyoko's smile grows a little more, something fond slipping into it. ]

Mm... he's a really good boy. So, don't worry too much, and rely on him a little too.

[Rely on him... ugh, that's so hard to do though?? When Sougo is just so hard on himself and Tamaki is so... the way he is...]

[He looks a little sheepish.]

I'll keep trying to rely on him more.

[ Kyoko nods, flashing a brighter smile at that in approval. ]

He'll be glad if you do! I'm sure of it!

[ All this cheery determination makes her bring her hands up to clench into fists and--ah. Oh. They sure aren't attached anymore, huh? ]

--Ah?

[The sudden separation catches Sougo off guard. He stares at Kyoko's freed hand, then looks down at his own as if uncertain if he is just seeing things, raising it up to inspect it more closely.

Then he lets out a soft laugh.]

Well, I guess... we made whatever was sticking us together happy with that conversation?

Something like that.

[ Kyoko laughs a little, relieved. That was gonna get pretty awkward if it went on too much longer! ]

Or it just got bored of us. I still don't know if there's a trick to shaking it off.

[Sougo flexes his hand a couple of times.]

It's... really that unpredictable? Ahhh, I have a feeling this place is going to constantly make me uncomfortable...

[He doesn't sound TOO upset about it at least?]

[ It would be an extremely understandable thing to be upset about, though! Kyoko heartily supports anyone who is upset about these circumstances. She nods, serious. ]

It's pretty ridiculous, right? Just try your best no to bump into anyone for a while.

I... I will certainly do what I can.

[He really doesn't want to wind up in that awkward situation again. Not everyone can be as nice as Kyoko!

Now that he's free, Sougo gives her a proper bow.]

Even if it was under strange circumstances, it's been very nice to meet you, Mogami-san.

[ Oh, a bow! Kyoko steps back to return it quickly. ]

Yes! I'm glad I got to meet you! Um, do you know the way to where you were going?

[ He's new here, after all, so she ought to do her due diligence to help him out if he needs it. ]
