Quietly putting up with things is something he's so good at, though. At least until all of those those things he puts up with become too much to bear, but this, right now? It might be awkward, and overall pretty uncomfortable, if he's being honest, but it feels like so much of this is his own doing. If it's this bad for him, it's probably way worse for her, and... shouldn't he not just disengage from this kind of thing? He's been trying so hard to be better than that with the time he has here, and he'd just feel worse for slipping away at this point.

He wouldn't call it a bother, either way. There's nothing caustic about their personalities, and it's not like she's trying to get anything out of him, either. She's just... trying to get along with him. He exhales softly, pausing a beat before reaching up with his free arm, and lightly touching her wrist. He's not sure if that's going to be too much for her, but given the fact that she's initiated with him already, it feels like a safe enough gamble.

"It's okay," his voice is similarly small, but he's doing his best to be reassuring. He meant it when he said he'd been glad, and even now, while she's trying to patch up this poor mood they've found themselves in, he truly does appreciate it. So... "It really does mean a lot that you're going out of your way for me like this. Thank you."
