'Why' is partially because it feels like it could be safe topic to pull them out of this dreary funk, even if it's likely to be a kind of melancholy one. That would definitely be better than wallowing in depression, though, right? It isn't even something that would focus on her directly, and maybe backing off of anything too personal would be wise.
