Shinji hadn't really had much of a plan for his other than 'give it a shot because the robots seemed enthusiastic about it', so he gets where Kai's coming from. On the other hand, as they've been working together, he's started to come up with some idea of what to do with his own crown. He's gotta finish it up first, though!
