Yeah, Kei got the sense they were doomed the moment he'd heard that noise.
He lets go of the teen. He doesn't respond.
There's a little wariness as they're helped up, but Kei is compliant; there's nothing to be gained from resisting now.
It's once they're being led away that his hand comes up, lightly clapping Akechi on the upper back and lingering for a moment before falling away.
