♥ Who: Shinji Ikari (
hedgehogsdilemma) and YOU!
♥ Where: Rawna's temple + Around
♥ When: Early Nalom
♥ What: Sweet jams? Sweet jams. Plus general month catchall for whatever other Shinji-shenanigans there are to be had.
♥ Rating: Probably? Just PG? Will update accordingly if anything changes.
Hello Cello
It's a nice, early morning at Rawna's temple, and Shinji's arrived to get a head-start on helping tidy up from last month's festivities. That... had been his plan, anyway! Shortly after arriving, one of the robots flags him down to unload a package off on to him. A surprisingly big package. For him? That's. Huh. Maybe he can put off work for a little while to figure out what this is about.
That 'little while' plan takes a longer turn when he opens it up and sees what's waiting for him inside.
While he's still fairly sure he's mostly alone in the temple, Shinji finds a quiet spot to sit with his newly reacquired cello, at first deciding to simply test it out, make sure it's still in tune, that sort of thing. As such, a few choice notes can be heard floating through the temple as he tunes the strings, subtle adjustments being made to each one and each note as he goes. With that much out of the way... maybe some scales are in order. You know, just to make sure he remembers them. Nothing particularly complicated to be playing or hearing, but possibly an interesting change of pace from the kinds of music the robots have been playing at the parties and gatherings so far.
Walking Fast, Faces Pass
Despite his enthusiasm for getting some cursory playing in, he isn't really here for public performances, though it might be a little hard to keep such a large instrument, in its case or otherwise, discreet while he's attempting the journey back to the housing area with it. Outside of being just Fairly Large and Noticeable, he hasn't had to travel busy sidewalks with it in -
. . .
a real long time. He does his best to stay out of the way of anyone else, but there's definitely the chance that someone's getting bumped into with the cello during his journey.
"Ah, sorry-!"

hello cello
"Hm!"

"Hmm..."
Let's try that note again? Ah, there we go, that's better.
no subject
"It's soundin' real good!"
no subject
"Ah?!"
He's been! Snuck up on!
But, oh. It's just a friendly audience member applauding his tuning efforts. That's. Uh. Well, that's not as bad as it could be. Shinji still seems a little shaken up, but lets out a little sigh to try and soothe his nerves a little before replying.
"Um, thank you...?"

Walking Fast, Faces Pass
"No, it's okay-"
She'll try and steady the big case, as much instinct as apology.
"You got this, or do you want a hand?"
Maybe she can help clear a path...
no subject
"I think I should be okay?" He definitely had not been doing 'okay' at navigating the crowds flawlessly, but that's... probably fine? It's Probably Fine. "I'm really just trying to get this back to the housing area."
Less people to smack into there!
no subject
Nita looked behind her - in front of Shinji - before turning back.
"You trying to get there in a hurry, or...?"
She was okay with giving him space, but the instrument breaking would be a disaster!
no subject
"Not... particularly," the sooner he can stash this away in the safety of his house, the better, but it isn't a pressing or urgent matter, either.

Walking Fast Right Into My Arms
He honestly wouldn't have even paid much attention to the commotion that seemed to be happening around the corner. It didn't sound like a problem, really, and had nothing to do with him. At least not until he heard that familiar apology.
So here Kaito was, poking his head around the corner to look at... well. Hey there. There was sure a lot more going on here than he was expecting.
"Yo, you need a hand there?"
no subject
"Kaito?"
The familiar voice catches his attention quickly, and Shinji thankfully catches himself before making any kind of hurried rush over toward Kai. Extract yourself from the crowd with a little extra care, Shinji...!
"I... should be okay? It's not that heavy, just, ah, a little big."
no subject
Or maybe just this little big... thing. Kai gave it an obviously curious look as he made his way over to meet Shinji in the middle. Let him just slide on over here and be a buffer for you, guy.
"You got that right. What's goin' on?"
no subject
Either way, it's always good to run into Kai, so while still exercising some extra caution, he moves in close to take advantage of that buffer.
"I just had it passed off to me at the temple," a little mysterious, but he can't really bring himself to dwell on it for too long. "Did you want to see...?"

hello! cello!! for more musics....
Zenitsu could tell it was a stringed instrument, but it was in the pitch he's not familiar with. Who was playing the instrument, though, was someone he's gotten to become familiar with more in the past month so he doesn't quickly freak out.
Now if it were during the night, Zenitsu's initial reaction would have been completely different even if he has gotten more familiar with the sounds Shinji made. You know, with all the screaming and whatnot... But since Zenitsu's got yellow hair, it's probably super hard to miss even if he's being more quiet than usual. His entire existence is probably noisy.
Whenever Shinji pauses in his playing, Zenitsu raises a hand to greet. "Uhm... Hi?"
He's more curious of the cello at the moment.
Get all the musical cr
He feels a tiny bit sheepish over being caught like this, but there's no reason to be tense for long. "Good morning."
no subject
When he hears Shinji get startled, Zenitsu blurts out, "Sorry! I didn't mean to sneak up on you or anything!"
As the startled sound changes into something else, Zenitsu wonders if he had stepped in at the wrong time.
"Oh... I also didn't mean to eavesdrop either. I just overheard sounds coming from here and I got curious."
no subject
"Sorry it's really nothing that interesting."
Just tuning the cello can't be that exciting to listen in on.

Walking Fast, Faces Pass
"Oh, it's okay!"
Their eyes go toward the cello. That's new, isn't it?
"I didn't hurt it, did I? Or you?"
no subject
"It should be fine," it didn't feel like a particularly rough impact, and it didn't sound like anything had snapped either. No harm, no foul. "Are you okay?"
no subject
They smile.
"So, how long have you been playing?"
(no subject)
Floatin' Fast
"Ooh, what's this? Did you win it somewhere?"
no subject
But! "Oh...!" Hello there Magolor! Shinji's definitely glad he didn't actually end up crashing into you at all, even if it was a close call! "It's a cello, it was waiting for me at the temple, actually? I'm not entirely sure how it got there in the first place, though." Probably a similar way to December's gift-giveaway, so... dragon ? magic? A sort of prize if you count 'do lots of work and hold lots of hands' to be some kind of game, maybe.
Carefully, he shuffles the cargo around a little so that Magolor can get a better look.
no subject
"You can play it, right? Or was this some god's idea of a joke? Maybe a hint? 'Get a hobby!'"
He laughs. Tease as he may, Magolor is pretty assured of Shinji's ability to busy himself; he seems to help out a lot. Maybe that's why he got a gift. Should Magolor help out at Diacht's temple more? Hmmmmmm.
He does a circle pass around Shinji and the cello, nodding to himself.
