it's a paaaaarty
♥ Who: Aera Mirus Fleuret and YOU.
♥ Where: Around town and at her residence.
♥ When: NOW!
♥ What: Smoothies. It's literally a party... to make smoothies. A smoothie mingle, if you will.
♥ Rating: S for Smoothie. Also I can't imagine this getting rated any more than a PG 13 for language and shenanigans.
[ A - It's shoppin' time! ]
[ In the morning, Aera can be found hanging around various areas of town, mostly picking up little things. Party hats, she's discovered, are some of her favorite things. She's also got to make sure she's got plenty of cups, too. If one is to throw a party based on the premise of whipping up various smoothies, then one needs to be properly prepared.
She's also dropping hand written invitations off and handing them out to random people, because why not?
The invitation simply reads:
'Dearest friend and or loved one,
It has been brought to my attention recently that smoothies are delicious and, apparently, on occasion, magical. With this in mind, I've realized that I do not actually know how to make a smoothie.
You are invited to my home [INSERT ADDRESS HERE] this evening for a smoothie party. Supplies will be provided, but if you wish to bring anything, please do. The more the merrier!
P.S - if Ardyn says he did not want to throw a party, do not believe him. He is lying. He is very excited about smoothies.
-Aera Mirus Fleuret'
That last part is probably a lie. He's probably not that excited for smoothies. ]
[ B - PARTAAAAAY ]
[ As the sun sinks and night falls, Aera's opened her home up to anyone and everyone. Upon your arrival, no matter who you are, you will be greeted with a hug and a kiss to the cheek, along with having a delightful party hat strapped to your head. How festive!
In the kitchen, she's got lots of things ready for smoothie making. Well... things she thinks would make for good smoothies. But if you've brought anything, she'll gladly take it with a thanks and place it with the rest of the things in the kitchen.
Go on. Make a smoothie. Drink the smoothie. Mingle. It's a smoothie party, after all. ]
[[ ooc; it's a mingle friends! Feel free to start your own threads, tag whoever you want, and have a fabulous time makingchaos smoothies. ]]

Cross-cultural contamination, as it were.
no subject
He shrugged a bit. If other people did that it was up to him, and he was pretty neutral about it.
no subject
It was rarer, of course, but Nita had lived to see it happen - thrice, even. Those times, however, could have been said to be more divine in nature, but the change had been true, thorough, and nigh-undoubtedly for the best.
"I think most people would agree about preferring to go home, though."
no subject
He hadn't really worried about it because it didn't matter. Regardless he intended to go home.
"It makes little difference in the end."
no subject
Nita sighed.
"That's what it sounds like so far, anyway. There's no known rhyme or reason as to who goes home or gets sick, from what I heard."
no subject
A troubling thought, given they only have 'stories' about what happens to those that disappear.
"And you? Do you wish to return?"
no subject
Presuming it was a physical thing that would need maintenance, of course.
Nita let out a long sigh. "I've seen that happen before, though not here."
Not that it could be otherwise.
As for his final question, Nita gave it the benefit of not giving a snap answer.
"I think... I want to, yeah, but not as much as some. I prefer to see things through, where I can."
no subject
He didn't necessarily have the time for it. He was interested, yes, but he had so many other projects ongoing already, and those took higher priority.
He tilted his chin up a little, narrow eyes studying Nita. "Where have you seen it before?"
no subject
A formal 'thank you', not a 'thanks.' Verstael just didn't seem the type to inspire informality, for some reason.
As for his own question:
"I was in the city of Nautilus, a world of its own beyond all created worlds, suspended between the Light and Chaos. We were Called there to help restore the Cycle of worlds, to learn how to maintain and later create them if we could.
"A lot of the time, people disappeared, went back to Sleep as it was called, with no explanation. Some people were able to get last wishes out, distribute their stuff with those closest to them,"
And here she shrugged.
"But the rest of the time there was no sign, no reason for it. And only rarely did people come back from that."
no subject
Plus he liked to document this sort of stuff. He'd already discovered some oddities while documenting. It might seem like trivial numbers or names to others, but what was the likelihood of so many random worlds having the exact same places? There had to be a reason for it.
no subject
She sighed.
"I really wish I'd been able to keep my Network access in that place, but it's all gone now. I do have notes, though."
Including the rather... unconventional end to the place's quest.
no subject
"I would like to see your notes. How is it that you came to be there? Is it a city of all foreigners?"
no subject
"One of the last Deva from Kalliste built a city upon an Aeon and engineered a Call to... break through whatever was keeping the worlds Asleep. So, yeah, we were all foreigners; the only culture there was the one we made ourselves, or the ones we brought."
She shook her head, remembering.
"The oldest posts on the Network there, there was barely even any sky."
no subject
It was strange to think of entire worlds being asleep.
"What do you mean there was no sky? What existed in the space then? Or do you mean that the atmosphere was lacking?"
no subject
"No; it was a signal to one's... potential, or essence I guess you could say. Speaking to their ability to become more than just their worlds shaped them to be. We both existed in our worlds and in Nautilus, and returning home... it was like being a passenger in your own head."
That it didn't seem to be the case for those the gods here summoned was small comfort.
"Everyone's ability to be alive in that space was tied to their will - their shape, whether they needed to breathe, a gravity they could recognize - so a lot of life-support functions were automatic, but there didn't need to be world-typical approximations for those functions to run."
Again, she remembers Noct's warning, so she's not going to tell this man too many details, but it's still a fascinating study in how to arrange a world...
That, and going back to Nautilus isn't an option, now. That's the big thing.
no subject
Being conscious in two places? It reminded him more of these virtual reality games than anything else. Though being inside one's own head did make him question how real it was.
no subject
Nita shook her head.
"If anything, it was like our homes were the machines, and if you Woke you got the possibility of leaving and making your own, or fixing others."
no subject
Everything about it seemed extremely foreign and almost too surreal for him.
no subject
She wasn't sure what his schedule was like, to be perfectly honest.
"I can definitely do diagrams. And maps, though that'll be mostly from memory."
And with the peridexis' help, at that. Some aspects of Nautilus were still foggy, even to her.
no subject
He always had time for gathering information. And he preferred not to waste too much, lest the opportunity slip away.
Good place to fade out, you think?
"Right."
Still, for now there were conversations and smoothies aplenty...
Re: Good place to fade out, you think?
"Until then."
Business completed, that was good enough for him.
