it's a paaaaarty
♥ Who: Aera Mirus Fleuret and YOU.
♥ Where: Around town and at her residence.
♥ When: NOW!
♥ What: Smoothies. It's literally a party... to make smoothies. A smoothie mingle, if you will.
♥ Rating: S for Smoothie. Also I can't imagine this getting rated any more than a PG 13 for language and shenanigans.
[ A - It's shoppin' time! ]
[ In the morning, Aera can be found hanging around various areas of town, mostly picking up little things. Party hats, she's discovered, are some of her favorite things. She's also got to make sure she's got plenty of cups, too. If one is to throw a party based on the premise of whipping up various smoothies, then one needs to be properly prepared.
She's also dropping hand written invitations off and handing them out to random people, because why not?
The invitation simply reads:
'Dearest friend and or loved one,
It has been brought to my attention recently that smoothies are delicious and, apparently, on occasion, magical. With this in mind, I've realized that I do not actually know how to make a smoothie.
You are invited to my home [INSERT ADDRESS HERE] this evening for a smoothie party. Supplies will be provided, but if you wish to bring anything, please do. The more the merrier!
P.S - if Ardyn says he did not want to throw a party, do not believe him. He is lying. He is very excited about smoothies.
-Aera Mirus Fleuret'
That last part is probably a lie. He's probably not that excited for smoothies. ]
[ B - PARTAAAAAY ]
[ As the sun sinks and night falls, Aera's opened her home up to anyone and everyone. Upon your arrival, no matter who you are, you will be greeted with a hug and a kiss to the cheek, along with having a delightful party hat strapped to your head. How festive!
In the kitchen, she's got lots of things ready for smoothie making. Well... things she thinks would make for good smoothies. But if you've brought anything, she'll gladly take it with a thanks and place it with the rest of the things in the kitchen.
Go on. Make a smoothie. Drink the smoothie. Mingle. It's a smoothie party, after all. ]
[[ ooc; it's a mingle friends! Feel free to start your own threads, tag whoever you want, and have a fabulous time makingchaos smoothies. ]]

Normally such an invitation would not entice Verstael, but there are two major parts that interest him.
One was Ardyn, and an excuse to potentially see Ardyn.
Another was 'Fleuret'. A name that was difficult to ignore. He needed to ask about this.
So he did attend this party, choosing the white suit over the armor - he didn't need to stick out even more among a group of Lucian-lovers - and immediately took a look around. This might be awkward, but he was absolutely going to find out about that name.
Smoothies? Unnecessary. He was on a mission here.
Of course, there was a bit of a family resemblance, plus a limited number of people, so he approached Aera after a small amount of time, "You are Aera Mirus Fleuret?"
B. - Somnus
Aera wasn't the only one of interest to him. He would attempt to start conversations with others, notably not making many attempts to involve himself in the smoothie part. Rather, he looked especially for opportunities to engage with those from his own world.
Thus he didn't shy away from Somnus, taking the first opportunity he had to approach him. "The Founder King. I've many questions for you."
C.
He was surprisingly a busy bee at this party. While he attempted to engage as best he could with certain people, he also kept himself open to others, taking note of any who showed up.
The simplest and open-ended question he could ask was simply, "You are acquainted with the hostess of this party?"
It gave people a chance to clarify who they knew here and why they were here, at least, as a start.
u know which one
Maybe that doesn't matter, because the poor man has opted to come and talk to her. Bless his sweet heart.
"Hello, dear," she greets, a cup of... some sort of concoction in her hand. "Yes, I am. You are one of Ardyn's friends, yes?"
no subject
WTF was that Aera? Truth be told, as much as he considered people allies, he didn't consider anyone a 'friend' in the closer sense, and so the question actually takes him off guard. Besides which he wasn't even sure this Ardyn would speak with him.
"We had previously been allies."
His eyes turned down slightly. Better that she have the concoction than him.
Back on track.
"Your name is a familiar one. You are related to the Oracle?"
no subject
"I see. How long have you known each other?"
She will sip her drink, and if Verstael thinks he's getting out of smoothies, he is dead wrong. But that is for later. Right now, he's asking questions, and it would be rude to brush them off.
"I was the first Oracle, and I am an aunt to the current."
no subject
It seemed like a long time, yet so much time had passed now in this new city.
"So you are from Ardyn's time?"
Ardyn had told him several things. Somnus' betrayal? Yes. However, details about Aera, not so much.
no subject
It's probably wonderful. It's good enough, Ardyn's making friends and that's all that really matters in the big scheme of things.
"I am, yes! We were betrothed at the time."
no subject
"Were you?"
He raised his brows slightly. There were certain things Ardyn had kept from him. He hadn't exactly cared that much whether or not Ardyn had a fiance, but this was an interesting bit of new information.
"That is quite a long time to wait. I must say that this is the most extreme case of wedding jitters I have ever witnessed."
Of course he knew that wasn't the reason Ardyn hadn't married her yet. There was the whole murderous brother and being imprisoned thing. Still, it invited her to tell more.

"What do you ask of me?"
no subject
He knew that glitter well enough, though his issue had resolved itself. Perhaps it was safest to keep a little distance.
no subject
As for the question of Solheim, there was little luck to be had there.
"The curiosity you seek to sate does naught for this world."
no subject
He wasn't giving up that easy.

"I didn't take you for the party-goer type, Besithia. It is good to see you."
Taking breaks from research is always a healthy thing to do, she thinks.
no subject
"Usually I prefer to avoid frivolous events. However, the hostess had a name I could not ignore. It's not often one has the opportunity to speak to figures from the ancient past."
The whole smoothie thing? Seemed to go over his head. He wasn't really attempting to party, but at least he looked happy.

Drink your smoothie, Verstael. It is H E A L T H Y. Brain power, to better help you work.
Also, have her hand. It's outstretched to you to take. Y'know, the usual.
no subject
"Approximately 2,000 years."
no subject
At his answer, however, she gasps. "Two thousand?" Goodness, that's-- actually not a lot of time at all to her, but to others? "That is a good amount of history you can learn from her!"
no subject
He settled in, frustrated by both Somnus and Ardyn, but hardly giving up the chase anytime soon.

C.
Instead, she made a note that this man, she'd seen on the Network. And been warned about.
Not necessarily to avoid mind. Just to be careful.
"Actually, no. It was more of a surprise. Are you? Acquainted, I mean."
She sounded older than she looked; more formal. But even without being royalty she'd had reason to learn other... rescensions, as it were.
no subject
Which wasn't a lie at all. While they weren't friends, he was certainly acquainted with the Oracle of his world.
"I thought it a good opportunity to meet another of the Oracles. Then you are here for the... smoothies?"
That really didn't sound natural coming from him. He'd probably never bothered with a smoothie in his life. Most his life he wouldn't have had the excess food to create a smoothie, nor would they be the drink of choice in the midst of a frozen wasteland.

Or at least, Nita could assume. Knew of, rather than knew personally.
She nodded, expression not quite flat.
"It felt too weird to decline it, if I'm honest about it. That, and in terms of bringing ourselves together, it's less forceful than the temple festivals."
Which she'd thought of - and realized - on the spot, and was left blinking after she spoke.

With a small tilt of his head and a flick of his hand, he responded to the second part, "The natives have long abandoned their biological forms and seem to have forgotten how living entities engage with each other socially. It is best to adapt quickly."
no subject
Cross-cultural contamination, as it were.
no subject
He shrugged a bit. If other people did that it was up to him, and he was pretty neutral about it.
