With the coming of Lasra, there was at least one new shop opening its doors in the quiet bustle of the Shopping District! There had been a distinct lack of places to simply sit in that district, but look no further if you were searching for such a spot. There are warm lights on inside, with the sights of large, comfy chairs and couches beckoning from the welcoming windows.

At times, from the same windows, you can catch sight of a pink little girl sitting near the glass, thumbing through an honest-to-goodness paper book.

Walking through the door would earn you a soft greeting. Welcome to Petals & Pages~

Many people have places to return to. It makes sense that many would just assume they do just that.

And anyone who doesn't, there's no reason they couldn't just stay here. But that's assuming a lot! So I'll make sure to ask them. Me, I've been curious as to when they'll decide we've done "enough."

[That sounds like the kind of goalpost that could get pushed waaaay back if no one keeps an eye on it. One more month, one more month, and all that. Magolor has never worried about it all that much; he still firmly believes in his own stay here only lasting as long as it takes the Lor to find him. But he can't take that for granted.]

"Enough" is very subjective, isn't it. It is unclear how large the world we are trying to fix is, or if they have an idea of how to maintain it if many of us were to go home.

It would be nice to know if we could stay though, so thank you for asking. Or maybe choose elsewhere to go, if people grow close.

Right. Most of you aren't travelers, so you'll need accommodations to see one another again. There's no way that's beyond them as a society what with everything they've already accomplished here! So I'll put it in their ears. Or their chassis! Hehehe.

[He reaches up to pat her warmly on the shoulder.]

Making a lot of friends?

[Ah, she hadn't even considered the simple act of just visiting. Wouldn't that be nice? It kind of seemed like asking a lot, so she'd understand if that particular request wasn't viable. As long as she got to give her second-chance its fullest, she couldn't really complain.]

I... think so. [She wasn't sure if they'd call her their friend, but there were a handful of people she liked. That maybe counted?] ... Yes.

That's more like it. If you think you're someone's friend, then you're their friend! That's all there is to it. I don't see why anyone wouldn't appreciate having a friend.

... That seems a bit over simplified. Maybe.

Oh, surely not. You can trust me, I'm a grown-up and a friend.

[But the amusement is rich in his voice. It's not like he doesn't know, even though he is also really the sort of guy who's all too willing to force his friendship on people in exactly that way.]

[This still seemed objectively incorrect, but perhaps that was just the result of living at a high school. Weird stuff, that.]

Have you made many new friends then? Beyond what you do as an emissary.

I'd like to think so! You'd have to ask them too. But I'd be sad to hear that they didn't think of me the same way. That goes for you too, Vianca! We're still getting to know one another, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends. I'd rather be a friend who becomes a better friend.

[This at least sounds more earnest, and he leans happily against her side, blinking up at her under his hood.]

That does sound like a good kind of friend to be. You do sound like a grown-up sometimes.
