With the coming of Lasra, there was at least one new shop opening its doors in the quiet bustle of the Shopping District! There had been a distinct lack of places to simply sit in that district, but look no further if you were searching for such a spot. There are warm lights on inside, with the sights of large, comfy chairs and couches beckoning from the welcoming windows.

At times, from the same windows, you can catch sight of a pink little girl sitting near the glass, thumbing through an honest-to-goodness paper book.

Walking through the door would earn you a soft greeting. Welcome to Petals & Pages~

Sentient alien species of [[plant]] huh. Golly.

And oh, it did seem like introductions were in order. There weren't that many offworlders in Havenwell, but this one wasn't anyone she'd recalled seeing before. New people were arriving again, weren't they? She'd have to remember to try and make a sign offering directions and the like for the window.

"I'm Vianca. It is nice to meet you, Nita. Did you help your father out often?"

She scooted over a little, if the other girl wanted to crouch down or anything. The trough-like planter was lined with pebbles, and there were some bags of dirt that she'd done some wheedling on a robot for at the botanical gardens, plus some basic gardening tools she'd been able to commission.

Fancy that.

"Nice to meet you too, Vianca. And yeah," Nita continued, kneeling down to settle in and minimize the height difference.

"I'd say you've got a good spread here to encourage root growth, though you might need a deeper planter once they really get started."

Nita glanced up and down the trough, mentally plotting how to best use the space so the flowers wouldn't overcrowd each other...

"How did you get all this? I don't think they have shops for plant care here, shame as that sounds."

Deeper... Vianca regarded her current set up with a scrutinizing eye. Hm. She'd have to look in to that. Were grass root systems very deep? Maybe. It was probably better to err on the side of yes so they had room to breathe.

She looked back over her spread of things, quietly pointing them all out point by point.

"I had to commission the tools, since they are not in frequent demand. The soil is from the botanical gardens. The seeds..." She picked the small bag up, carefully cradling it in her hands. "I suppose they are a gift from Dr. Ohma. They are from home."

That was Nita's thinking, certainly - especially if Vianca wanted to diversify and add other plants in on top of the grass.

She nodded along as Vianca explained (there were a lot of steps involved, and she suspected it wasn't easy getting any natural material out of the gardens!), then blinked at the final explanation.

"Oh. So they're of something you personally know of, not just something that can be found on any world."

It's not precisely a question, though Nita was curious.

"Correct. They are not native to my past home either, so they were a surprise."

Any seeds would have been a surprise, actually, but especially these ones! Finding the nectar grass to grow for her sister had been such a big to-do, and that kind Venusaur had been the only one she trusted to grow it properly. They hadn't had that many chances for it!

She didn't have that many chances for it here, either, which was precisely why she was deliberating over it for so long.

Nita looked around the setup once, twice more, before concluding:

"They're not just plants, are they? They're special."

That, or it related to past, painful memories - but something about that didn't quite add up.

Nita probably just didn't have the whole context.

"But, whatever it is, going through with it sounds better than thinking about what could be, positive or negative."

"They taste very good."

Truly a deep and powerfully sentimental answer. "They will also be good to have for emergencies, so yes. I hope they are able to grow well on this planet as well."

Nita blinked; that... wasn't quite what she thought she was going to hear, but then why should anything be what she expected?

"Emergency supplies are always good to have. Do these grow in a particular season, or does the weather set-up here negate that somehow?"

She'd noticed the weirdly-distributed weather to go with the fake sky, by this point.

"Hm. I have only encountered it in a greenhouse setting personally, so I would guess conditions that are spring-like or summer."

It wasn't anything that Olimar had actually taken any notes about, so she could't really reference that.

"I can help with that, then," Nita said, glancing back out the window.

"Since I don't think the weather here is entirely reliable; getting the right kind of glass and some lights shouldn't be too hard..."
