Let's Get Cooking [OPEN]

♥ Who: Will and YOU
♥ Where: Will and Kiwi's house
♥ When: Christmas Day
♥ What: Will is going on a holiday baking spree and wants your help! (And also to feed you. Please eat.) It's also a last minute birthday party for Kiwi, because someone didn't mention it to anyone.
♥ Rating: Should be nothing but cute unless something unexpected happens! Assume PG-13 to be safe.

1. An Open Invitation! [Network Post - Video, Public]
[Where on earth did Will get a chef's hat? The world may never know. Regardless, he's wearing it and a cute apron, and looking immensely pleased with himself as the video turns on.]

Hi, everyone! Now that the ingredients we're getting out of the replicators are looking so much better, I thought I'd try my hand at doing some baking again and see if my recipes would come out the way they're supposed to. Who wants to come help?

Taste testing is an important way to help too, of course! Hehehe~ ♥ Anyone who wants to drop by, come whenever you can!

2. Secret Santa [Network Post - Video, locked to everyone EXCEPT Kiwi]
[The video seems to be over for a moment--until it clicks back on, this time in a slightly more private setting. Will's beaming smile has turned into a conspiratorial grin, and his voice is a little quieter to make sure he's not overheard.]

You all should also know it's Kiwi's birthday today, too. I know there's no advance warning, so gifts might not be feasible--I only found out yesterday, myself. But maybe at least give them a hug and some well wishes while you're here? I'm sure it would make them really happy!

3. Let's Get Together [Network Post - Video, locked to Magolor and Crystal Exarch]
[This time, he's just making a separate message entirely. He moves in and out of view of the camera as he putters around the kitchen preparing, but his voice is still easy to hear, at least.]

Exarch, Magolor! Can you both make it over sometime today? I promised I'd take another spin at these poffins months ago, and I promised I'd introduce you two once everybody was done being sick, so now seems like a perfect time to chat.

[Remember how you wanted him to make poffins for his own surprise party, Magolor? Well, hopefully this is almost as good. Especially when you add the fact that he's been hyping you up to another friend!]

4. Food, Glorious Food [Action]
[You want treats? You got treats! Whether you came to help Will cook and bake, to be social in and around the kitchen, or expressly to mooch free food off of him and maybe provide feedback, he's welcoming everyone in with open arms.

Highlights include poffins, Pokéblocks, a birthday cake, anything guests might request or try to whip up themselves..... and curry? He wants to make sure people actually have something substantial to eat alongside all the sweets, okay. ~~His friends have an appalling track record of not taking care of themselves, please let him love you.~~ The improved ingredients seem to have done wonders for his cooking, though--everything is turning out excellent today, and he couldn't be happier to see how well it's all coming together. Hopefully that good mood is infectious~ ♥]

5. Get This Party Started [Action]
[There really wasn't any time to decorate, since Will threw this entire affair together last minute--but that doesn't mean they can't have fun! There's freshly made treats, (including a cake!) there's delicious seasonal drinks, there's probably a handful of presents to be opened.....

And most importantly of all, of course, there's a birthday bard to fuss over and spoil. Enjoy the party! Will is fluttering around playing the gracious host, trying to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable, and socializing with each other well. He's also (but why, though?) put on a colorful cardboard party hat right on top of his chef hat; it's staying on remarkably well.]

6. Wildcard
[Do whatever else you want! Mix, mingle, steal delicious unbaked dough, tease Kiwi over being such a cute birthday bard, etc. etc.]

[Aww, but who can say no to that face. Lup doesn't mind, she's sat in worse places in her life. Petting a sweet fluff is relaxing anyway, and while she's not stressed about this, she's not really a fan of awkward situations.]

So... I figure it's safe to assume that you talked to Cor about things? Me-related things?

Oh--right, yes. We talked about that a little while ago.

[You'd clearly have to have a heart of stone to deny a sweet fluff that wants to snuggle up in your lap and make you all toasty warm when you cuddle and pet her. It's the only way!]

Even without the wine, I'm pretty sure just about anyone would want to kiss you both.

[As long as they liked both men and women, of course. He knows he'd kiss both of them in a heartbeat, at least--they're both such remarkable people, and so gorgeous in completely different ways..... Really, he can't blame either of them in the slightest.]

[There's a barely-perceptible shift in her posture, akin to relief, and she smiles easily at that. She likes both of them, and losing friends won't break her but she'd rather not. She's had too many broken bonds in her life already.]

Well, you're not wrong one bit, there. [They're very pretty and kissable, she'll give him that.] I'm glad you talked, though, because I'd have been real pissed otherwise.

[She'd be hard-pressed to name a relationship flaw more shitty than bad communication. It's the root of so many other problems. So, confirmation that Cor's an adult when it comes to dating! Not surprising, but good to hear.]

So. We cool, then?

It really wouldn't have been fair to leave it up to you. But we're good, don't worry! It'd have been nice to be there or informed, but I know that just wasn't possible.

[He kind of wishes he'd been there to see it; the pair seem like they'd be very striking together, after all. Not to mention it would've saved Cor a lot of stress, knowing he was safe and supported in spite of being in that position.....]

Although..... If it happens again, you'd better make sure to bring your A game and kiss him absolutely senseless. If he's going to feel guilty about it no matter what, you need to make sure it's worth the price of admission.

[What do you call a shovel talk that's not even remotely like a shovel talk? A trowel talk?]

[That makes her tilt her head, brows furrowed in curious confusion.]

If it happens again? Don't think that's likely. I mean, sure, he was giving off some mixed signals, [he did kiss back after all,] but I got the impression that he takes his commitments real seriously. Said commitment being, y'know.

[She gestures at him.]

I'm not here to try and break up a good thing, my dude.

Oh, he does. He does.

[He takes his commitments terribly seriously, and yet sometimes the smallest doubts can rattle his certainty in them right to the core, can't they? It's such a strange combination. Sometimes, Cor feels feels as crystalline as everything else associated with the Lucian royalty. He's strong enough to take the weight of the world onto his shoulders, but once you figure out the seams in that structured discipline and exactly where everyone goes.....

Then, it wouldn't take much effort at all to make everything shatter. A vulnerable crack like that is exactly why he wants--needs, maybe--to bring up the possibility to Lup, too. Just to try and make sure nobody gets hurt. The smile he answers her confusion with turns sly and conspiratorial.]

We talked about a little more than just a kiss. I'm not letting anyone break up a good thing, but if you two also happen to make each other happy..... I wouldn't be upset over it.

[....

Oh.

Huh.]

What about him? He okay with that?

[She doesn't sound the least bit opposed, but the surprise is evident in her voice. Usually, things don't work out so... clean... so she's waiting for the other shoe to drop.]

He's confused about it, of course. I don't think he's ever even heard of the concept before.

[Will makes a little welcoming gesture. There's no shoe dropping just yet--the other shoe is apparently just still hovering in the air uncertainly, trying to figure out where to step without crushing anything. For Cor, of course, this kind of result is anything but clean, since he's got so much thinking and soul searching to do, so much reworking of his fundamental understanding of love.....

But for Will? It's a simple, obvious path to take. He's always known Cor doesn't only belong to him. He entered this relationship understanding that he'd have to share--in spirit, even if not reality. He never will have Cor's entire heart, not when Regis has held onto it for so many decades. If Lup ends up laying claim to a piece of it as well..... as long as she can help make Cor happy, that's fine, too. Gods know Cor needs all the happiness he can get.]

But there's no rush. You two have time to sort out your thoughts however you need to, and I'm right here if you want me.

Mm… well, fair. It's not what I'd call a typical relationship.

[She hadn't considered it either until just now- mostly because of what she knows of Cor's personality. If he's not opposed, and Will's not opposed, where does that leave her?]

That's… good to know, though. He hasn't really talked to me since it happened, so I have no idea where things stand right now.

[She hasn't exactly sought him out admittedly. Hadn't wanted to make things more awkward for him, considering she'd been the one who put him in that position.]

Sounds like it's about time to find out then, hmmm~? I don't think he's avoiding you on purpose; he's probably just still wrestling with feeling like it's his fault.

[Have an apologetic smile, hands spreading in a "who knows?" gesture.]

Though I hope neither of you feel too bad about it. I'm pretty sure it must be the wine that does things to people's minds.

Sounds like a valid possibility. Men are exhausting like that.

[Have a sympathetic but pointedly not apologetic smile in return. No offense.]

I feel bad about the way it happened more than the act itself. I wouldn't have done it behind your back without the wine, so as pleasant as it may have been, that did sour things somewhat.

You aren't wrong.

[Will can't help but laugh. Men are exhausting, it's true--just often a different flavor of exhausting from women. Communication and emotions alike are difficult to deal with--it's just one of the many reasons he'd never even tried to date seriously while he was on his journey. Any number of people he met along the way could have made him happy, he's sure--but he just hadn't been in a good position to put that much effort into anyone.

If he was smart, he would have done the same thing in Havenwell, knowing he'd be separated again someday from anyone who didn't belong to his world..... But this world seemed to have a way of making you open your heart, and let intimacy sneak up on you.]

I'm sorry it left a bad taste in your mouth..... It's not your fault, though. I've seen firsthand how the wine works. At least we've got the opportunity to straighten things out now, even if it is a little late?

[It's not really fair to say experienced how it works firsthand, not when he's not the one who drank it..... But he had most certainly gotten to see the way Verstael's mind had been subsumed by the stuff, and he'd felt its effects quite strongly by proxy. Even if he had been upset that Lup was poaching, he wouldn't have the heart to blame her. Not when she hadn't been acting under her own will.]

[Her brows furrow, looking thoughtful, and she crosses her arms over her chest. They're half-straightened out, at least. That leaves Cor himself, and-]

What do you want out of this, then? You have to consider that as well.

[It takes two to tango, so to speak, but they're already two. Adding a third can shake things up in a lot of ways, and many can be unexpected. Better to lay it all out on the table before things go too far and collapse underneath all of them.]

What I want out of you two, you mean?

[Will looks confused for a moment as he peers down at her. It's strangely disorienting; he's not used to thinking about what he would want out of someone else's relationships, not unless he intended to use them somehow.]

Well..... mostly just for you to help make him happy, I guess? And it'd be nice to get to know you better too, if this is going to be a thing.

[Hm. That's as good an answer as any, really. Whether or not he'll find that satisfying in the end is on him. If she's able to make someone happy, though...?]

I see no issue with either of these requirements. Who wouldn't be happy to be around my very rad self?

[Happiness is relative, and Cor has plenty of baggage being carted around. But... she'd made him smile, and he'd done the same for her. There'd been a fire that she hadn't expected, and not just because of the wine; it's something she hasn't felt for a very long time. If this is what they end up wanting from one another, then what's the harm, ultimately? She's a dangerous woman, but only if she wants to be a threat. That's not the case here. And she's not looking to fall in love with anyone, just... have fun, and give someone a good time in return.

And she does like Will. There's... potential, in this. It's something new to consider.]

Hehehe~ Who knows? I mean, I know I like spending time with you. So having you around more should be a good thing!

[He hasn't gotten to spend much time with her yet, but he has enjoyed what he's managed so far. Lup is bright and witty and spirited, worldly and accomplished, probably full of all sorts of random knowledge and stories. He doesn't need to dig in too deep to have fun with her, right? Whatever she wants to give him, she'll give him. He's not the main attraction here.]

Well, it just so happens that I'm free right now, so I'm all yours. Wanna start by getting to know my epic kitchen skills?

[Cooking helps her relax even in the best of times, and they can talk and bake at the same time, surely. She does have to extract herself from the Flareon cuddles though. Sorry, buddy.]

Absolutely! Time to get up, princess.

[Arche whines in protest, but reluctantly crawls out of Lup's lap; Will offers her a hand up, once she's been liberated from her duties as royal cuddler and ear scritcher.]

[Lup gives Arche one last pet before she reaches out to accept Will's help in standing up.]

So what're you working on right now? Anything aside from the cake?

Nothing yet! You got here so fast, I only barely got that in the oven before you showed. Did you have anything in mind?

Let's see... if you've already got a cake, we can't have anything too filling, unless you're expecting a lot of people to show up. How about some fruit tarts? I make a mean pastry, and the replicator fruit isn't bad. I should be able to magic in the real deal if it'll spit out the dried stuff.

There's no telling how many will show with an open invitation! We could get three people or thirty. I was thinking we could make something savory just in case anyone wants an actual meal instead of just snacks, but otherwise? Light things like fruit tarts sounds like the way to go.

[He just feels like puttering around in the kitchen all day and feeding people, honestly. Sometimes you just gotta be all cute and domestic!]

What do you mean by "magic in the real deal" though?

Just how it sounds, hon. Why don't we get started and I'll show you?

[She lifts a finger playfully to her lips, then taps it against his and saunters past him to enter the kitchen herself. Time to wash those hands, first! Then she'll start demanding ingredients from the replicator.]

By all means~

[Gasp. GASP. He's been booped. such a terrible fate! Will just grins and follows after her, digging out another apron to offer. Her outfits are always on point, it would be a tragedy to cover something so cute in flour!]

[Flour and general cooking mess means very little when you have Prestidigitation, but she'll never say no to less work, so she accepts it with a grateful hum and puts it on.

She quickly makes herself busy getting acquainted with his kitchen, moving with practiced assurance as she opens each cupboard to take stock of the location of the necessary items. She gathers a few clean bowls for ingredients, collecting the usual suspects from the replicator: flour, butter, milk, dried fruits, this and that. Synthetic of course, but functional.

She lays them all out on the counter, gathered together in a circle, and glances over at him.]

What do you think, strawberry? I've got a hankering for something extra sweet.
