He can feel that flinch, though at first he's not sure what caused it. Then he feels that grip on his clothes, and his wistful words... he thinks of Lennox, insisting on staying by his side even after everything that happened and all of these years... in this moment, it feels like Teo would try to do the same. His voice is soft.

I'm grateful for your efforts to help me, but when I'm gone," whether gone to stone or miraculously back in his own world, if he can keep Teo relatively alive that long- "you need to focus on your own life... following that letter of yours won't be easy, and I won't be there to protect you."
It's harder to think about now than it use to be. It was easier to accept Teo's high likelihood of failure or death at that point when he wasn't as invested in helping him live. Just another change that he can't easily label good or bad...
