If she knew his thoughts, Kyoko would have to agree--it sounds silly and inconvenient to her even now. But that hasn't stopped it from being the solution before. That's the reasoning Kyoko is sticking to, so she doesn't hope too hard that it might also offer a moment or two of reassurance for either of them.
