[He watches her shifting expression, brows scrunching together as he tries to decipher it. It goes on long enough that he can't help feeling concerned, like he'd said something wrong. Does she not know she's amazing? It's true that he's not as verbal with compliments as she is, a flaw of his personality more than how he thinks of her (because he truly does think the world of her), but he can't recall her rejecting one before. And while she doesn't directly disagree, the uncertainty of her expression lingers in his mind.

He shrugs off her comment - a misdirect, he thinks - and holds on to that concern. If she's upset, it'd be easy for her to distract him with his own condition, but he's noticed, now.]
