Here he thought he was going to get that feeling under control, but it turned out that that was Wrong. Kai shut his eyes tight, pressing the heel of his hand against one as he sucked in a breath. He wanted to lean into that touch of his hair. He wanted to turn his hand to hold hers. He didn't quite get to either.
