[i; even if all the flowers here are fading away; hana-hack-i]

[The sudden urge to cough was a familiar feeling to Ardyn, and one that set him on edge immediately whenever that odd tickle in his throat presented itself. Surely it couldn't be that, he'd long since been immune to his own corruption. But he couldn't very well get sick in general either, so what could possibly be the problem?]

[Whatever it was, he immediately reacted the only way that felt logical to someone afraid beyond the capacity for rational thought: he suppressed it as hard as he possibly could, for as long as he could. A very slight and quiet cough here and there, maybe, but Ardyn did all he could to act like everything was normal until he could figure out what was going on.]

[And if there were perhaps the occasional stray yellow, pale pink, or purple petals wherever he'd been lately, that was probably an unrelated thing.]

[(pick your poison:

yellow marigolds - jealousy
cyclamen - resignation and goodbye
cosmos - joy, harmony

cyclamen may require some cw's for suicidal ideation if he talks to close cr with it, will be tagged as necessary)]

[ii; unwind your tight rope just hear me out; uproot (ohma)]

[In between dealing with fits of flower-based coughing, Ardyn might occasionally approach if he saw anyone out an about, with a greeting followed by a simple question:]

What might you be doing today?

[Or, if you're exceptionally unfortunate, he would offer a small wave and a sudden nonsequitur:]

Did you know malboro vines are edible, but only after being boiled for twelve hours? They taste utterly foul, but boiling them for that long takes care of all the poison.

[well, DID you know that?]

[iii; so I can embrace you tight; fairy lights]

[When not coughing up flowers or acting extremely weird, Ardyn chose to take a long and peaceful evening walk in the botanical gardens, watching the fairy lights with a knife-less tonberry clinging to his leg nearly every step of the way.]

...You're liable to make me trip, you realize.

[Which his companion took as a cue to climb up his dark and terrible master like a green daemonic kitten, settling in his arms as though it owned the place.]

Suit yourself, then. At least I won't fall over this way.

[iv; just tell me now; wildcard]

[you know the drill]
