♥ Who: Cloud Strife and Sephiroth
♥ Where: Ruins on outskirts of the city.
♥ When: 28th March
♥ What: Cloud is cornered by a gigantic food monster and one of the old remaining monsters from months ago.
♥ Rating: OG and Remake spoilers. Also spiders if you don't like that sort of thing? Could add more as log goes along!
[Like a lot of people, Cloud has encountered a gigantic walking monstrosity of different burgers in the city. He sighs. Again? Just how long is this running food shit going to last?
Still, he’s encountered a couple of these things before. At the moment, he is in the ruined outskirts, where fewer people would roam, but it’s best to stop this thing before it goes further into city where more defenceless people are. Cloud starts preparing his Fire spell, hoping that it’ll damage the monster enough to get it to split apart so the other pieces of food run away…..
When, out of nowhere, a huge spider jumps onto him, making him yelp, knocking him over and causing his sword to fly away.]
Shit!
[And now not only does he have to face two monsters without a weapon but he’s pinned down by one that he’s never seen before. Meaning he has no idea how dangerous it is.
Either way, he has to think quickly and make his move, before this thing does or maybe even the burger monster.
Little does he know that help is going to come from the person he least expects.]

TIME TO MAKE A SPLASHY ENTRANCE
Sephiroth is doing exactly this when he hears a distant roar. It jerks his head up from where he was gazing at the circuitous path in front of him. He transitions smoothly into full battle alertness and charges toward the source of the commotion, Masamune materializing in his hand as he goes.
Sephiroth takes in the scene: the man on the ground with the inky black spider attacking him and the gigantic burger monster drawing closer. It takes a second to make a decision and moments more to execute it. In a flash he cuts through the spider first, his sword work so precise it severs the creature in two without so much as nicking the man's clothes. His second strike cleaves the roaring burger monster in two and as Sephiroth had once before with Zack and the Cerebrus summon, he lands nearby and between it and the other man. It's only as he straightens and turns, all the miniature monsters raining down behind him, that it dawns on him that this man is familiar. Still, he asks the question: ]
Are you alright?
IT BEGIIIIINS
The man whom he had idolised as a boy. The man who caused Cloud to leave his hometown, so he could become a hero. The man who would one day crush his childhood dreams by taking everything he held dear.
This man has just saved Cloud's life. Cloud does not answer, looking utterly stunned, although not enough not to push himself up onto his feet.]

Sephiroth stares at his fellow SOLDIER for a moment. With what he knows now from Genesis about him "not reacting well" to something and from Aerith about her being afraid of him in her timeline he can surmise a lot and it's enough to change his perspective on the other man. Not that he says anything about it for the moment. Instead, Sephiroth lets Masamune fade away and reaches out a hand to help the man up. The little food monsters aren't a threat to either of them at present and so he spares no attention for them. ]
Can you stand?

Still, even this Sephiroth saving him like that was the last thing he expected. And he's not sure what the appropriate reaction is. But he does manage to nod while he stands up. And then he realises....]
Wait....my sword. [Where is it? And....why is he suddenly feeling queasy?]

It's over there.
[ While Sephiroth could retrieve it for him, that falls in the grey area of weapons etiquette and he decides to err on the side of caution. He probably would for any of his four (4) friends but it's really not worth it for anyone else. So he just stands there and waits. ]
Drat. I thought I replied to this!
[And he makes his way towards it, picking it up and placing it on his back. With that, he turns to Sephiroth and.....it is sinking in further.
Sephiroth saved his life.
.....He's not sure what to say. He should say something.
As he is mulling this, he is vaguely aware of this growing feeling of nausea, causing him to fall on one knee.]
Ugh!
Th-the hell?!
No worries <3
The sound of dust and rocks crunching under Sephiroth's boots is loud as he hurries over. ]
What is it?
[ He can't see anything wrong, but the man is clearly struggling. ]

Before he realises it, he says...] C-cleansing Materia.....you have it...? [A part of him actually can't believe he is asking Sephiroth this but...it's not as if there is anyone else around.]
no subject
I see...the ink spider...
[ He holds up his arm, ready to cast Cure. ]
Only Cure. It isn't what you need but it might help some.
[ And he casts it. ]

When Sephiroth finishes, Cloud does not feel any difference but....well, he'll try and get up anyway.
And falls to his knees, still feeling feverish.] D-didn't work...

Take my hand.
[ He extends it in offering. It only makes sense with everything Honerva said and all he now knows about this place. Hopefully this will suffice. ]

Wait, what is he doing? He could die here. And he hasn't got the Cleansing Materia to help him. So he's got no choice.
Slowly, still feeling sick, he takes a few shallow breaths before slowly reaching for Sephiroth's hand, holding onto it as if his life depended on it. Which it does.]

Sephiroth pushes the thought aside for later and instead focuses on his fellow SOLDIER's condition. ]
Here.
[ He reaches to place his other hand on the man's opposite shoulder because he's in bad enough shape that Sephiroth is certain it's going to be necessary. It will bring them closer together but he's grown more used to this sort of thing. He just hopes it will end with this. ]

Maybe it's because Sephiroth has been a while. Or maybe he is that desperate. He is not sure. Either way, he holds still.
And slowly finds himself getting better. He looks less pale the longer Sephiroth holds him as well so the change is also visual.]

He will hang on in silence until the other man is back to normal or seems that way and then stand up straight once again. ]
