One last, quiet, "Good night," is echoed back at Kyoko before Shinji settles in to his spot nestled up against Kai. It's unlikely that he's going to stop dwelling on that gloomy sounding tone from the other side of the bed anytime soon, but he can at least not push the issue any farther.

Surely everyone will get some shut eye at some point, and definitely... no intrusive rolling and spooning in the middle of the night. Absolutely none of that.
