Yeah, he can't really assume that she's going to be enthusiastic about all of this, but it eases his own worries to think that someone he's already close with would be helping him out - hopefully she can take that same solace. Clearly whatever she has cupped in her hands is important if she's giving it such serious consideration, so... him helping out should be a good thing, he thinks.
