[It was and wasn't his type of activity at the same time. The main reason it wasn't as simply because it likely wouldn't produce a meaningful result. But otherwise? In essence one could say his job was fitting pieces of a puzzle together.

He was drawn in a bit more, at first observing. One had to see the pieces they had in front of them and determine how they could be put to use. He compared pieces, considered what sort of shape other pieces would need to be to fit, and perhaps he wasn't the quickest but he was precise. There was no random mashing of pieces together in the hopes that they would fit. When he picked one up he had already determined the images and shapes suited a certain spot. And it didn't mean that he never made a miscalculation based on eying it - but he made fairly few.

He began piecing together the top row, and also started sorting the pieces that were there as he went through them. At this moment particularly by color, so that it would be easy to look at one specific pile when looking for a matching piece.]

I cannot yet tell what image it is creating. I do hope it'll be an image of the original form of the natives. I have seen statues, but it's likely many artistic liberties were taken with those. Another image would help create a likely more accurate guess.
