Being away from 'all that' is also a comforting thing on his part, so at least that's something they can agree on easily.

There's such a fine line between it being comforting and awkward, but that hug had managed to land squarely on the safe side after those first few moments of uncertainty.

For a moment, he hesitates again, focus dropping off to the side and finding it a little harder to come up with the words for the next thing he has to say.
