That could very easily be quite a bit of pressure put on Shinji's shoulders - that it's because it's something he would want, when really, his ideal would be something that would fulfill something for the both of them.

That hand pressed against his own, though, is a very sure sign that this wouldn't be something one-sided. Even if Kai isn't totally sure about that just yet. All that means is that Shinji will have be keep things nice and steady for as long as he can, which, after keeping everything completely under wraps for so long... that shouldn't be too tough, he thinks.

"I'm not trying to push you into anything," he wants to make sure that much is nice and clear, at least. "But... if you'd want that, too. I'd really, really like that."
