[Her flinch and withdrawal stings, but he knows he deserves it so he doesn't chase. Rather, he drops his hands to his sides, one between them, both curling in the grass as he feels his frustration swell. He hates this. Life is so much better and easier when the problems in front of him are foes he can battle with a sword in hand, rather than with words. He's too earnest, he'd never been gifted with his father's silver tongue for negotiations or convincing arguments, he lacks Ignis' talent for strategy. His mind is racing, trying to think of what next to do or say. He doesn't know enough, her world has too many mysteries, and she...
