[For someone who used to be able to see clearly until about a foot in front of him and had only had it back recently, touch is still and will always be a large part of his life. His roommate knows this and tolerates it well enough, even encourages it. Lucky him.]

Animals and gods, always hand in hand, would you say? That's been my experience of it. It's as if they want us all to interact more than we do already. Horse and carriage and whatnot.

[Not just here, but everywhere he had been. No doubt, it had been by design, but he doesn't find himself bothered by it either way.]

Ah, but it's always like that. Everything is new and exciting, and then it becomes just another day. We're used to it, I'm sure. Did they ever have anything like this technology in your world?
