[ A - It's shoppin' time! ]

[ In the morning, Aera can be found hanging around various areas of town, mostly picking up little things. Party hats, she's discovered, are some of her favorite things. She's also got to make sure she's got plenty of cups, too. If one is to throw a party based on the premise of whipping up various smoothies, then one needs to be properly prepared.

She's also dropping hand written invitations off and handing them out to random people, because why not?

The invitation simply reads:
'Dearest friend and or loved one,
It has been brought to my attention recently that smoothies are delicious and, apparently, on occasion, magical. With this in mind, I've realized that I do not actually know how to make a smoothie.
You are invited to my home [INSERT ADDRESS HERE] this evening for a smoothie party. Supplies will be provided, but if you wish to bring anything, please do. The more the merrier!

P.S - if Ardyn says he did not want to throw a party, do not believe him. He is lying. He is very excited about smoothies.

[ As the sun sinks and night falls, Aera's opened her home up to anyone and everyone. Upon your arrival, no matter who you are, you will be greeted with a hug and a kiss to the cheek, along with having a delightful party hat strapped to your head. How festive!

In the kitchen, she's got lots of things ready for smoothie making. Well... things she thinks would make for good smoothies. But if you've brought anything, she'll gladly take it with a thanks and place it with the rest of the things in the kitchen.

Go on. Make a smoothie. Drink the smoothie. Mingle. It's a smoothie party, after all. ]

Perhaps some of them. Will, in particular, is quite talented. I would like to bring him back to Niflheim with me.

It's astounding that his talents weren't recognized on his world. He could truly be a great asset to Niflheim.

His talents still wouldn't go to waste.

Besides, I have many changes to make. I cannot be certain the end result of them. Though, perhaps it would be good to get your perspective on one of the problems.

What do you think of erasing the existence of someone who was meant to be in the future?

Of what specifically do you speak? I can give no answer upon something so vague.

If I'm too specific I believe it may color the answer.

But if I were to prevent someone from being born who was meant to be, what would your opinion be on that?

My judgment would vary depending on who it would be specifically. If it would be the prevention of an existence which caused considerable pain and destruction, someone beyond reasoning, then my answer would be that it may not be strictly wrong to do so. If such a person existed, perhaps it would be no terrible sin to prevent their existence. However, such an existence strains believability and therefore an extreme act would in nearly all likelihood be unnecessary.

I have been met with a rather large request that seems to contradict itself. I'm sure that, like myself, you have been made aware of the future MTs.

The request is to not create them, which in itself seems very simple. On the other hand, the thought process leading to it is that they deserved better and that they were human, once. Which leads to a problem.

If they are to be considered human, then the request would essentially be to erase millions of living beings.

[Verstael wasn't a particularly moral man - Ardyn would know this. He worked not from a basis of religious values or emotional righteousness, but from maintaining a sort of logical consistency. This led him to be able to justify the means by the end, the sliver of morality capable of explaining away why something was all right if it was, in the end, accomplishing something more important.

Something inconsistent, though, was troubling, and he wasn't sure how to proceed.]

...That's not something I can answer. For while the intent put into their creation sounds reprehensible, they themselves bear no fault for existing and neither have they done anything wrong in merely being created.

It is a complex problem that has been bothering me for some time now. There is no simple solution.

[Letting them live was a problem in itself. The Empire was still in dire straights, and creating millions more that would be unable to contribute for years would be difficult to explain.

But it had certainly struck him that he was being asked to erase a population that could create an entire country. If they were people, that was truly a large request.]

I did not think I would be faced with such a problem. The MTs I was creating were not human.

[Not yet. The tin cans were decidedly machines, but not fully functioning as of yet.]

They weren't human to you. As I understand it, they were human the moment they were created. Whatever happened from there was your own action and burden to bear.

However, the MTs do not involve humans at this time. I have never experimented on or created a human. They are as originally intended - machines. ...They simply weren't functioning correctly yet.

I have recently been gifted with a copy of my logs. Logs that I will make. I intend to study them thoroughly and find out when things went astray.

He just didn't realize Ardyn would be on his list of potential problems. He never did, not to the day he died, always believing Ardyn had been on their, on his side.]

[Which truly showed his mindset. He actually thought that researching further would put Ardyn at ease, not really suspecting him at all.]

It covers a lengthy expanse of time so there is much to review, but nothing should give us better information than my own notes.
