Just over that crest of hill, the dawn was raising its rosey fingers up over the misty clouds settling over the sleeping valleys. It greeted them both with a radiant glow, and it was nearly enough to make Kai forget they weren't looking at a sunrise they knew. Almost. Even if he'd seen a mountain sunrise a few times in his runaway fits, they'd never been anything like this. Even his other VR trip hadn't been quite like this, maybe because he'd hiked it alone.
