With the coming of Lasra, there was at least one new shop opening its doors in the quiet bustle of the Shopping District! There had been a distinct lack of places to simply sit in that district, but look no further if you were searching for such a spot. There are warm lights on inside, with the sights of large, comfy chairs and couches beckoning from the welcoming windows.

At times, from the same windows, you can catch sight of a pink little girl sitting near the glass, thumbing through an honest-to-goodness paper book.

Walking through the door would earn you a soft greeting. Welcome to Petals & Pages~

Goofy's clumsiness defies the impossible.

When she comes on over, he puts on a big smile, and goes in for a hug. "One hundred ten percent comfy, Vianca!"

The Huggening.

She made a soft sound as he practically scooped her up in that big ol' hug of his, because somehow she had not anticipated this. She also did not mind it! But it was a surprise! Certain she was supposed to reciprocate, she went ahead and did just that. But small.

"That is very good. Since there are not many books yet, it is important the cuddle spots are very cuddly meanwhile."

He put his head atop hers, happy to stay this way for quite some time. Hope she didn't have any major plans right away.

"I'd much rather cuddle you than a book anyhow!"

This was her major plan now, Goofy, you were good.

"... That might also be good, I suppose." To be cuddlier than a book. Hm. "Cuddling while reading is nice though."

"Hm. Might be!" He's not one for reading, at least not books without pictures.

"Come to think of it, though... I did get a book recently that doesn't belong to me, but a pal of mine."

Vianca looked up a little at that, even if all she really saw was snout.

"Did you? What kind of book is it?"

"It's my pal Jiminy's journal!" He answered, but then made a motion with his hand to indicate size.

"He's a cricket, y'see, so it's really small."

[pinkmin]

Really small, you say.

"Oh. That would be really small. Are you able to read it?"

... Oh, but it was a journal. "Unless it is a private kind of journal."

"That's what's puzzlin' me." Goofy admitted. "See, he kept the journal as a way to keep track of our adventures, so it ain't like there's stuff in there I don't know... but on the other hand, he ain't here, so it doesn't feel right to take a gander without his say-so."

To him, it was a real puzzle.

"I see."

That would be a bit of a puzzle for some, huh. Vianca gave it some careful consideration.

"Usually records are kept when you want to share or refer to those stories so they won't be forgotten. If he is as kind as you, I do not think he would mind you revisiting memories of you and your friends while you are away from home. He'd probably be glad it could help."

Hm! Made a certain amount of sense to him.

"Gwarsh... when you put it like that, I can almost see Jiminy smiling at me! You're real smart."

"Mm, I just read many books like that." A lot of them had been made available for anyone to read, after all. "You could check the first few pages and see if he wrote and introduction on what kind of journal it was meant to be, if you still feel unsure later."

"That makes sense to me! I think I'll do just that."

Not right now, though. Now was huggin' time.

Hugging Time.

Vianca settled right in. "What kind of adventures was he journaling for you?"

"Well, normally that's a secret, but this kinda place revealed it anyway..."

Shrug!

"See, me and my pals Sora and Donald went around other worlds to save 'em from darkness."

Oh. A secret adventure. That made being unsure about reading the journal make even more sense. Still, Vianca was pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem for Goofy to read it. It was his own adventure, after all. It just meant maybe she couldn't ask to take a peek. That was okay.

"Was there a reason it was a secret?"

"The wrong people might use that information to do bad stuff." Goofy explained, clicking his tongue in disappointment.

"There are nasty folks who'd want to rule over everything."

"Ah... People that liked the Darkness?"

Capital letter D darkness, at that. You couldn't have night time without some regular kind of darkness.

"Darkness ain't so bad, in of itself." One of the odd things Goofy had learned. "But it needs to be balanced with the Light."

She nodded. "Yes. Too much light can be bad too."

[thekingsshield]

"See, you got it!" That deserved a squeeze in the hug. "Takes some folks a lifetime to figure that one out."

Behold: a squeaky toy.

Vianca considered that for a moment. "It sounds like more people should take up gardening then."

"Maybe so." He agreed. "Gosh, even the King needed to learn that lesson!"

"You're both from a world that is very full of light though, aren't you? If that is what he knew best, it makes sense that it would need to be a lesson."

"Well, sure, but it also surprised me 'cause the King's real smart! He always knows what to do, what to say... So him havin' to learn it was really amazing!"
