Primarily, the ring's purpose is to help you focus and amplify your own power, which granted, is not something very visible to someone from the outside.

Even before you move onto learning how to do that, I would suggest you get used to having the Lucii in the back of your mind and drawing a line between them and you. After all, it is hard to focus on using your abilities when you are being overwhelmed by them. Once you feel you are set with that, we can begin some lessons if you would like. There is an element of discovery by trial and error, but I do have some tips I can pass along.
